I recently made a purchase at Home and Beyond and had a mixed experience. Initially, I was impressed by the excellent customer service. The staff was very helpful, and I appreciated the assistance I received while shopping.
I made it clear that I was shopping approximately three weeks in advance and that it was crucial for the items I ordered to be in stock and guaranteed for delivery on August 15th. I purchased three items that were confirmed to be in stock and was assured they could be delivered within a week. Since I didnât need the items until August 15th, the sales team assured me this timeline was completely fine and doable. I paid in full for the furniture and delivery upfront and was told someone would reach out to me a few days before delivery.
However, when I called a week before the expected delivery, I was shocked to be told that the items I ordered werenât even in stock and wouldnât be arriving until August 16thâone day after my scheduled delivery. This was completely contrary to what I was promised in-store. What made everything worse, and left me extremely upset, was the fact that I didnât even receive an apology or any acknowledgment of their mistake. Their only excuse was to blame Ashley Furniture, saying things like, âWe donât know, itâs not us, itâs Ashley Furniture,â and âItâs them delivering it to us.â
To make matters worse, when my delivery finally did arrive, both the dining table and living room table were damaged. I accepted a $50 credit for the minor damage on the dining table, but I declined the same offer for the living room table because the damage was extensive and in multiple spots, making it look horrible. A few days later, they delivered a new living room table and took the old one. Unfortunately, the replacement table also arrived damaged, though not as badly as the first one. When I tried to address the issue, they first claimed the damage was just ânormal imperfections,â then denied any damage at all, and eventually stopped responding to my messages altogether.
Honestly, I wish I had just gone to Ashley Furniture directly. For anyone reading this, I suggest you do the sameâHome and Beyond sells the same items as Ashley, but clearly, they canât manage the delivery process.
As a small business owner myself, this is certainly not how I operate when I want my clients to not only come back to me but also recommend me to others. Iâm extremely disappointed that Home and Beyond failed to deliver on their promises and treated me with such disregard after the purchase was made.

I love how the team gave me advice on what will work for me and my situation. I ended up having to skip out on the first couch I wanted but I was shown other selections and ended up finding a couch that day. As far as the processing and delivery everything went very quickly and smoothly. I ordered my couch on Friday and was contacted Sunday to confirm my delivery and I got my couch on Monday! There were some delays and the couch I initially ordered wasnât going to be in stock for months, so the associate I worked with helped me find another option. That couch ended up getting delayed as well by a little over a month longer than anticipated so they sold me a floor model of another (considerably more expensive) couch for the same price as the one I had already ordered, which was a pretty nice deal.
They worked with me to set up the delivery very quickly once we made that final decision on the couch, and the delivery guys were exceptional in getting my couch, coffee table, and entertainment center set up.
The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because of all the delays.
Would I recommend? Absolutely. Delays and out of stock things happen with any business, but they made it much less of a hassle than it could have been.
