Long story short, Chelsea at the front desk was amazing in helping us show around and in securing (apparently - I say this cuz I never double checked what their regular rates are) a really good nightly deal for 2 nights of stay in an oceanfront room (to be very specific room 101) ....we got in and were amazed by the view but little did we know how our night and next day is going to be totally ruined after finding out the room to be infested with cockroaches (pics/videos shown below) .... When we went to front desk Dani said he can not do anything for us and said to come back in the morning to speak to the manager named Promise Oliveri. But walking around a really nice lady named Trish (a resident of the property on the first floor) provided us an emergency cell phone number which happened to be promises cell#, not sure why the front desk didn't do this for us....anyways after multiple calls and visits to the front desk we were told if we are not happy just leave with no guarantees of any refund. Writing the whole store will require me to write a lot the end of the story promise only after seeing the pics and videos agreed to give us one night refund and after inquiring further she called me to inform me that she will give a little more partial refund only because they are being nice to me not because the unit is infested with cockroaches albeit the evidence I provided to her ....in any case on top of all the trouble and spending way more to find another hotel for my family and ruining our last couple days on the island they still charged me Almost $200 CAD (that's including my losses in exchange rate due to the debit/credit while they couldve easily avoided this By cancelling the transaction as requested by me. So not only did they not be sympathetic for ruining our Vaca and help us with smtg complimentary they actually charged us for and infested unit.....posted pics and videos under pics and videos swctuos of Google as it doesn't allow me to...
Read moreUpon arrival/check-in, we got hit with a $130 cleaning fee that we weren't expecting. You also have to pay for every little thing. $10 for fresh towels if you're staying in a studio or one bedroom, $15 if you're staying in a two bedroom. If you do your laundry yourself, it's $2.50 per wash load and $2.50 per dryer load. Then the front desk charges you $2 for a single use detergent package. So it's not much cheaper than getting your towels replaced. The booklet in the room says the front desk will give you change for the laundry machines, but when I asked she told me "no." So I had to download the app that links to your credit card in order to pay for the laundry machines. On the app, you buy prepaid amounts to put towards the machines, and their smallest amount is $10. Their default amount, however, is $25. So I ended up paying $25 for a single load of laundry. Customer service of the app then issued me a refund of my unused balance when I emailed them about it, but all of that could've been avoided if the front desk had just given me change. There is also no air conditioning, the bedroom window is as large as a door and CANNOT BE FULLY CLOSED so you can hear everything and everyone who passes by the main hallway. If you leave the window open to get some much needed air in the room, the curtains blow wide open and expose you in your bedroom, so no privacy. There is also no ventilation in the bathroom. Lots of fun with that. One nice thing is that the beach is only steps away from the lobby and it's...
Read moreThis place has the look and feel of a 1970's cell block by the ocean. Your experience may depend on the ownership and management of the unit you chose.
Some of the guests don't know how to behave properly. In a week I had someone toss my clothes out a washing machine within a minute of the cycle finishing; a disturbance from a domestic dispute where a young child appeared to be at risk; and two young children running about naked and unsupervised in an adult area.
If price is your only criteria then this may be an option; otherwise avoid.
(I stayed in Unit 107 from the 2nd to the 9th of April 2017. This unit is managed from offsite and in fact off Island by someone who admitted not having been in the unit for "quite some time". In my opinion this arrangement does...
