I had high hopes for this bakery but I was pretty disappointed. The Lilikoi bar was burnt along the edges of the pan so all the bars had some really dark spots that did not taste nice (I forgot to take a picture before I tore off the burnt side). I ordered a cinnamon roll and it was OK but it very bready and not like a typical cinnamon roll, the icing over it definitely saved the day. The ham and cheese empanada was ham and a thick sauce which just tasted like a bechamel with an excessive amount of nutmeg in it ( I could not taste any “cheese”) The crust was nice but the filling was disappointing. I also found one of the letters from their signage in my Lilikoi bar so that was a very unpleasant experience chomping down on a hard piece of plastic and trying to decipher what it was. They have a line out the door when they open so good for them but I won’t be back.

PAU Bakery is a hidden gem in West Maui! I had the avocado toast—so delicious, with that balsamic vinegar… chef’s kiss! We also tried the chicken and beef empanadas, and they were both very good. The employees were very friendly, and overall the service was great. We’ll definitely be back before we leave to take home some banana nut bread, carrot cake, and other snacks!

After searching the while island for the best bakery food I have found the place. The staff were abundantly kind and welcoming to everyone who walked in the door. I can’t wait to go back! as for their food, the alfajores were hands down the best I have ever had. Their bagel sandwiches kept me full for the whole day and were just so delicious.

I stopped by this bakery on the West Side recently, and it was a pretty solid experience. The staff was super friendly, and the vibe of the place was nice, though they could definitely use more seating — there were only three tables available. Parking was a bit tricky, but there’s backup parking across at Honokowai Beach Park, so that worked out.

We tried two croissants, and while they were good, they were a little on the chewy side. The chicken empanada was baked nicely, but I wasn’t expecting the curry sauce inside. It would’ve been nice to know that ahead of time. Also, I was caught off guard when I saw a 3% fee for using a credit card on the receipt. I wish they had mentioned that upfront.

Overall, it was a decent experience, but there are definitely a few areas to improve. I’d be open to going back and trying more items...
