Sazon Mexa — Restaurant in Maui

Referred by a dear friend who shares my love for fresh, flavorful and fiery sauces to this little red food truck home of @sazonmexa.maui open 4-11pm, closed Mondays.

It is nestled in the back parking lot where the @paubakeryshop (home of the Argentinian Balcarce) and this Mexa cuisine is worthy of its own restaurant (hey, space for lease right in building.)

So far I’ve tried the chicken quesadilla with marinated tender chicken, jack cheese, onions and cilantro inside a large crispy grilled flour tortilla. The mild tomatillo sauce and fiery red chill sauce are fresh! It came with flour tortilla chips made to order. Portion a plenty!

Another time I tried the asada Mulitas at Miguel’s recommendation and the corn tortillas are handmade! Wowza. The steak was marinated until tender and cut into chunks not thin strips and lightly topped with jack cheese and dotted with guacamole crema. I got two but one is sufficient. Still I stuffed my face with every last bite combining the two sauces and squeezing all three limes wedges as I went. My face and hands were a mess!

This place is amazing!!!! The food is very flavorful. It's made to order and is so fresh! It feels very clean which is nice to have while on vacation. The staff is so kind and orders are filled promptly. You will not be disappointed. We tried the tacos, burritos, quesadilla, and rice and beans. We returned a couple times. Right off the bat, in just going to say this is the best Mexican food I’ve had in my life. Ordered a simple bean and cheese burrito, and it was amazing. Additionally, the chips are just heavenly, I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful they taste. The staff are also very friendly and we did not have to wait long for food. Overall, if you are in the area, you must try this food. I would go here everyday if I did not love...
