First thing when I went to check in I was greated by a lady who was very impolite, she treated me like I was some kind of trash. When I said my name for the reservation she informed me that my card was declined, when I asked what card it was she could not give me that information and informed me that I would not be able to have the rate I reserved for online. I still don't understand how my card was declined when I paid with the same card I reserved the room with. I happily handed her my card and was asked what brought me in. I stated I was in town to see my niece for her birthday and recieved a reply with attitude that they do not encourage parties. I never said I was there for a party, I stated we were not having a party and that my daughter and my 2 grandchildren were also coming into town. She repeated herself that they do not allow parties, and I stated once again we were not having a party, we were spending time with our family for the first time in months because it was my 6 year old nieces birthday and so my sister could see her 2 year old niece and 6 month old niece (my granddaughters) for the first time. After that when we got to our room it was not furnished appropriately, we were told we had a king bed and a pull out sofa, there was a pull out chair! We did recieve a roll away which was awful, it was nothing but springs wrapped in fabric along with our chair bed and the sofa bed in my sisters room next door. There were no pillows or linens for the pull outbeds or the roll away they brought so when we were getting ready for bed we had to wait to have that stuff brought to the room. When we went to the pool to our surprise there was a HUGE PARTY GOING ON!!! This is definitely not an issue, however to reinforce to me how much they discourage it when I checked in and then to see that I was appalled at the way I was spoken to about it when I checked inp. The room had trash in the trashcan and crumbs all over the floor when we walked in and there were no bags for the ice bucket. We also stayed at this hotel about 6 weeks ago and had a very nice experience other then our food at the cafe, which took a month to refund back to my card. So, when I said we were coming back into town this past weekend I figured since our stay was so nice last time we would go back but this definitely went from a 5 star stay to a 2 star stay real quick. I was very displeased with the way the service of the desk and the conditions of our room. I think we will be staying somewhere different next time. We usually visit every couple months and we trying to be closer to my sisters house but I will take the distance for a better room and...

For the past 3 years, I have been coming here once a month for work and I stay for 2 days at a time. Usually I have no issues with this place, maybe something minor here or there but typically nothing big. The rooms are nice, and the majority of the staff are very nice, and many know me by my face and name. I have some issues like there is no hot tub and no microwaves in the rooms (there is one in the main lobby for everyone to use) and the food at the Bistro is pricey but good. My issue is with Jorge (pronounced Hor-hay) who is a shift lead/assistant manager here. I have no idea how he has kept his job for so long because he has no idea how to handle people or have any good customer service skills. I have had a few large issues, and every time he is the one on duty that I have to deal with. They lost my reservation one time about a year ago, and Jorge tried to blame me for it and was completely rude (this has happened a few times where they didnt have the reservation stuff correct). Today, I check into my room, get some food and watch TV....and when it was time for bed, I saw a large unwashed blood stain on my pillow! BLOOD! When I went down the the office with the pillow, Jorge was there and the first thing he said to me (no apology or anything, he didnt even look sorry) was "When did you check in?" A reasonable question I thought (at first). When I told him I had just checked in a few hours earlier his response was "And you just noticed this now?" Totally with blame and contempt implied!! I couldn't believe it! How rude!! I just found blood on my pillow and realized my room was skipped for cleaning (there was more stuff) and you are going to try and blame me?? Even the two front desk ladies were a little taken aback from his behavior. He needs to go, or get some customer service training.

This hotel is mostly good, definitely a better hotel at a decent price to stay at. Just prepare to receive bad customer service and be blamed if you have to deal with...

Got unexpectedly stranded at Toledo airport after National car Rental desk closed. Needed to find a hotel for overnight stay with a shuttle service hopefully not too far away. TSA agent recommended Marriott Courtyard in Holland, Ohio. Called immediately and Sam at Front Desk said yes she had availability and would send a driver immediately . Being after 830pm and a hour and half delay on Allegiant we were thrilled to have found this hotel. 15 minutes later the driver Danette was at terminal. She was very friendly. She then came inside and checked us in promptly . Was thrilled restaurant bar was still open. Greeted warmly from Samantha at The Bistro and were able to order delicious flatbreads and cocktails. We were so grateful for the hospitality from the whole staff. Lots of shopping and restaurants close by. Yes hotel is older but very clean and well taken care of! Beds and linens were nice and good quality! Loved the Christmas decorations and Cozy fireplace! Melissa the friendly shuttle driver the following morning explained their engineer has been on the property since it first opened in late 80’s and still with them. You can tell hotel has a family feel and employees enjoy there jobs. I spoke to Jamie the GM at check out and told her how impressed and appreciated everyone’s warmth after a stressful day before. She went and got us complimentary coffee and water while we waited for shuttle. Whole stay was very nice and would love to stay again if in the area! Ps.. I’m a retired flight attendant with United Airlines and have traveled my adult life so I’ve definitely stayed in a lot of hotels. Happy holidays to the employees of this hotel and thank you for a very pleasant...

The best thing about this place is the price and the location—super close to the airport and surrounded by just about every fast food chain you can think of. Culver’s, McDonald’s, Cane’s, Burger King, Starbucks—you won’t go hungry. The room itself was fine for a short stay, but definitely showing its age. My toilet looked like it had been painted over at some point, and one of the bedroom walls had bubbling wallpaper from water damage. Soundproofing isn’t great either. You’ll hear doors slamming up and down the hallway, and at times I could clearly hear conversations from the next room. The gym is barely a gym—just a couple pieces of old, dusty equipment crammed into what felt like a storage closet. The pool didn’t look very clean, so I didn’t bother trying it out. On the bright side, the staff was generally friendly and helpful, though your experience might vary depending on who’s at the front desk. Overall, if you need a quick and cheap overnight near the airport, it gets the job done—but I wouldn’t book it for anything longer than that.

Stopped for a night heading to Detroit. First impression walking in was impressed. The lobby and bar area is top notch. Front desk service was amazing. I believe her name was Terry. (So sorry if I got it wrong) I had a problem with the first room door lock not working. They quickly got me into another room. It was this second room that earned the five stars. When I opened the door I was immediately taken back to 1998,being a junior in high school. When all the girls wore the smell of strawberry lotion from bath and body works. It's like they took my favorite smell and put it in the room. Then I went to take a shower and used the Tea Tree shampoo and the Lemon body wash. While it was a nice touch. I am a little concerned my wife is going to question me when I come home smelly like I've been hanging out with another woman. Everything is great with room and location is convenient. This will be my hotel on future trips.

I enjoyed my stay here! The finishes are a little bit outdated (although still on par for the $80-$100/night price tag). The room was VERY clean and quiet (aside from some occasional airplane/train/car noise), and comfortable for my stay. The shower water pressure is very good, and there is shampoo/conditioner/soap provided as you would expect at a Marriott. It's in a safe and convenient strip mall (Target, Walmart, TJ Maxx etc), with plenty of familiar options for food chains around (Starbucks, Chick Fil A, etc). Staff was all very friendly and helpful, and they had the exterior and lobby decorated for the holidays in a very inviting way. If I stay in the area again, I will certainly come back to this hotel.
