It's a franchise, so I don't expect something super fancy, but man, the food was so subpar. The rolls that everyone raves about, aren't even THAT good. They're buttery, sweet, bread, so they're good, but guys, just whip some butter with some honey, vanilla, a little brown sugar, and cinnamon and you're golden. The salmon that I got was just okay, but its a steakhouse, right? Let's focus on the steak. My boyfriend's steak was low quality meat. I've worked in a franchise steakhouse before(not Roadhouse), and I know how little they pay their staff, despite being as profitable as they are, so I don't find a reason as to why the meats are so cheap. I've had the chicken here before, too, and it was so dry. Also, the vegetable selections leave so much to be imagined. They're all steamed, no love. Barely any seasonings that aren't just butter. Okay, so you're a steakhouse with low quality meat, dry chicken slathered in low quality bbq sauce, with ok salmon, AND your veggies are soggy and going to clog my arteries? Pass.
Here's the deal: if you're a franchised resturaunt, I get it. You're definitely more of a business for the sake of business, than a resturaunt for the sake of sharing and cultivating your love for good, innovative, culturally ambitious, meals. I know. I want it to be clear that my review is not of this specific location, BUT of the franchise itself. So, with that being said, a party of 2's incredibly mediocre meal, that consisted of 1 app, 2 entrees, with no special drinks, alcohol, or desserts, being over $60(not including tip), is ABSURD.
Also, the seats were so uncomfortable. We are talking NO padding for that tush. That might be the only location specific thing about this review. Get some of those booths replaced! If those seats have to endure recurring customers, and again, with all that butter on those veggies to act as the only flavoring, I see why there is no more padding left.
BUT. Our waiter was great. Alec was very attentive and helpful. Service here is always fantastic. I have never had an issue with service. They really rock that department. Probably because even the servers know the food is trash, so they really gotta work for that tip. God bless em.
If you want good food, don't come here. Go to be a better franchised resturaunt, like Red Robin, or LongHorn.
If you want to get drunk and pig out on rolls, while having great service, this is your place.
One last thing. I know it's "Texas" Roadhouse, so country music is definitely going to be playing. But can we play some Nelson, Parton, or Cash? I'm 24, and if I have to hear one more whiney twink from Austin, Nashville, or Dallas, sing about their wittle broken heart, I'm...
Read moreI've always loved TRH, and usually get great service, but this past Sunday I was so disappointed. We came in about 8:00 and had no wait. It wasn't busy. Our waiter was subpar, to say the least. He barely spoke a word to us, never smiled, never came back to check on us during the meal, and acted the whole time as if he'd much rather be somewhere else. When he did speak, it was as few words as possible and so quiet he was difficult to hear. He was so bad my friend wondered if he were possibly high.
We waited quite a while for our salads, and when he finally brought them out we were barely able to start eating when our steaks were brought out. We had to put our salads aside and eat our steak first so it wouldn't get cold. I had asked for extra parm with my salad, which I didn't get. When I asked about it he just stared at me as if he had no idea what I was talking about. He didn't even bring our steaks out, someone else did, then walked away. No one asked us how our steaks were, although he came around the corner and stared at us as we cut them. Guess he figured they were fine, but he didn't ask.
When he brought the check, he acted annoyed that we wanted separate checks. I guess he should have asked when he took our order, but he just didn't care. He dropped the checks then and walked away. He never said he'd come back for it or that we had to pay on the app. We finally figured out he wasn't coming back so we paid that way, but believe me his poor service was reflected in his tip. He never asked me what I wanted on my sweet potato. I had to ask what came on it. I could have placed my order on the app and gone up to a window to pick it up for all the interaction I had with this guy. I'm just not used to TRH employees being so unengaged. If I were to come back again and this guy were my waiter, I would absolutely request someone else, and hopefully this isn't going to be the trend in employees here, because he has no idea how to...
Read moreI don’t usually complain but when I do there’s a reason. 2 weeks ago I came to the holland location with a friend and it was over an hour and 45 minutes to even get our salads. There where 2 girls that where sat about an hour after us and they got their mains before my friend and I even got our salads. My friend and I were promised free rolls to go from our waiter but we never got them. My friend told me not to complain due to the fact that he didn’t want the cooks to “spit in our food” so I didn’t ask for a manager and kept my comments to myself.
I decided tonight to give this location a second try. My friend and I ordered our steaks and when it came time for the person to ask for us to cut into our steaks to check if they where cooked to our liking, my steak that I ordered medium was extremely well done. The very nice lady took my steak back and said it would be about 5-10 minutes for them to remake it and said a manager would be over shortly to talk about it. By the time I got my new steak it had been about 30 minutes and yet a no manager came to speak with me. My friend had finished her food and at that point I was no longer was hungry and decided to take my steak to go. I am at no means blaming the waitress we had. She was extremely nice and apologized about 20 times. This was clearly a kitchen mistake and a managerial mistake. I’m not angry I’m just very disappointed. I had gotten off of a 12 hour shift and all I wanted was to eat a steak with a friend and instead I got my food 30 later and she had already finished. I would’ve liked an apology from the manager for the inconvenience but instead our waitress (it wasn’t her fault at all) apologized 20 different time in 20...
