I wish I could rate this unkempt hotel a -0. It is very run down and outdated and the rooms are dirty and disgusting. Everything inside the rooms were either failing apart or on their way to being broken. I was stuck in the bathroom for 20 minutes because of the large crack on the door that makes the door stick. The rooms smelled of strong cigarettes and the bathroom smelled of urine. The bathroom toilet seat was broken and it didn't flush properly. The electric range was broken, the furniture looked nasty and I was afraid to sit on the couch. I had to wipe down the tables and chairs because the had a lot of dried up food on them. I had to go to the front desk twice to refill the deodorizer they gave me to spray in both our rooms to help combat the strong cigarette stench. The towel rack fell apart as soon as I touched the dingy off white towels. The front and all around the hotel is littered with cigarettes. I complained to the front desk twice in person about my rooms and I called to make a complaint. I was told to go speak with the manager in the morning who would adjust my bill for each room. I spoke to the "so-called" manager who waved me away saying that it's a housekeeping issue. The head of housekeeping said it's a maintenance issues. I then went back to the manager who waved me away again as I was bothering her, her texting on company time was more important. First she agreed to refund some of my money for the 1st night. As well as refund me for the second night because we checked out of both rooms before 10AM and we didn't even stay at all the second night. She then told me she was double charging my credit card because she could and if I didn't like it I could take it up with corporate. She was beyond rude, combative and very argumentative. She did exactly as she said and charged me for staying there two nights when I clearly checked out of both rooms EARLY! I'm afraid they will make unauthorized charges to my credit cards, they are VERY SHADY PEOPLE there. I cannot believe this hotel is even remotely considered a Wyndham brand. If it were not for my lights being off for three days due to the weather I would not have even stayed one night! The Wyndham is synonymous with class, style, cleanliness and extremely helpful staff. However, this hotel is run down, dirty and unkempt as well as the supervisors are unequipped to handle even the smallest compliant. I am not even for sure if who I was speaking to was actually a manager. I've dealt with many supervisors and managers and none have behaved as they do at this location. You will never have to worry about me spending another penny in your decrepit hotel! I urge you future renters to RUN not walk away from this hotel!

I don't write reviews but I have to warn people. This place is one step from an hourly rate motel. I'm sure 40 years ago it was a great Residence Inn but that was a different time and place. Our room was dingy and old even though it has new fixtures and a fresh coat of paint. We arrived after sundown and promptly went to bed. After sunrise we were shocked at what we saw. On one wall, there was a pop/coffee ( I hope) spill that wasn't cleaned up, dried pee on the toilet, trash behind the bathroom door, a used towel on the bathroom door and a greasy substance on two of the glasses in the kitchen. I'll stop  there. In the morning the desk clerk said they were VERY sorry and they would tell housekeeping about it. Awesome. Thanks. So sorry to put you out. There were two tv's but one had no signal and the other only got 5 channels; probably not a place where you're interested in the tv. I would have loved to stay in the place in the online pictures; this was NOT that place, not by a long shot. DO NOT STAY HERE. I don't know how to make it more clear.  I likely won't stay at another Wyndam's Hawthorne Suites again since they show little control over their franchisees.

My friend and I Paid $100 for a room. Got in and there was coffee in the coffee pot and half drunk warm cup of coffee on the counter. This place provides dishes but the dishes were filthy had food and smudges on them. The walls and trim are absolutely disgusting. especially the trim in the bathroom. The toilet seat is broken so your sliding off the toilet while doing your business and the bathroom spout is coming off the wall. Theres a hole in the door. I feel like we paid to stay the night in a nasty east Toledo house. I've paid half as much for 10x nicer rooms this is completely foul for the money. 100/night for all these rooms every night and your telling me yaw cant take care of the place? At least wash the trim and dishes correctly. They have a pull out couch is where I'm supposed to sleep but it's broken so I can't even lay on the oversize pet bed that's supposed to be the pull out so I'm currently blowing up an air mattress BY THE MOUTH at 4am. The most nastiest place I've been to. Thanks Hathorn Suites.

First off the girl at the counter Sierra is the rudest person that has ever waited on me. She does not need to be a customer service representative. She has no people skills. There are parties every Saturday night music blaring and people banging so loud it sounds like their going to come through the wall. And no one does anything. Called the front desk until 4 a.m. complaining finally had to say I was going to call the law before they finally broke the party up. My husband works at night so we get no cleaning service. For 2 days I requested towels and they told me they had none. Over the weekend we requested some more towels they told us they would bring them to us. After 4 hours waiting I called and ask if we were ever going to get any. When she delivered them she said my husband and room mate had turned down cleaning service. We were told when we checked in we would get cleaning on Wednesday and Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon. Because they sleep during the day. So I tried explaining why they turned it down. She was very short and didn't want me explaining anything. The next day when they said we owed 80 more dollars on our bill and wanted to know when we were going to take care of this. We pay our full bill on every Sunday. We have been staying there for 5 weeks because my husband is working a job here. She proceeded to tell me I was rude to her the day before when she delivered towels to us and she would not talk to me about our bill. When I was the one who paid it on the Sunday before and made our reservation. I know what they quoted me on the phone and how after 4 weeks there would be no more taxes and we would be credited the tax if we stayed more than 4 weeks. Now she has raised our room rent and never credited our tax back. When I tried showing her our receipt from the week before that we were owed 126.00 credit she said it was outdated and she still wasn't talking to me about the bill but proceeded to tell the room mate she would print a new copy off and guess what it showed we didn't owe any money that there was a credit. But we still didn't get our credit. I'm very disappointed. I have worked in customer service all my life and my last job was front desk manager at a motel and I would have never treated a customer this way. I wish I would have video recorded how she talked to me. And considering they can't even rent rooms right now because of money owed you would think they would appreciate the 2000.00 dollars a month they get from us. And they don't even clean the rooms. We bought our own sweeper and cleaning supplies and take care of it like our own home. She should be fired. And from what the manager says we're not the only ones complaining about her. So beware at the Hawthorne Holland Toledo...

My family and I went to Cedar Point for 2 days. After reading the reviews of a lot of hotels on how poor the cleanliness was we came across the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Holland/Toledo Area. It was an hour away but it was perfect for what we needed it for. We spent the day at the park and before we arrived we called to make sure they had a pool. They said yes and it was heated. It was extremely cold and the whirlpool was so hot people said they bet I couldn’t last five minutes in it. They were right. The receptionist was very nice and being we didn’t check in until 8pm and hadn’t had dinner we didn’t get settled in till after 9pm. The room looked good until we started looking at it more and more. The carpets were filthy. The kids socks turned black from them. When we pulled out the pull out bed from the sofa we found change, wrappers, and dirt. The mattress had a gross stain on it too. The grout around the tubs especially at the base of the tub was wearing away to a point where the floor was rotting. We had a non smoking room but it was evident that the last guest didn’t follow that rule. The next day we left for Cedar Point at 8:30am. We arrived back at 8:00pm to a shock that I have never had at ANY hotel I have ever stayed at. Our front door was wide open. I’m not talking just not shut all the way but wide open. I looked around the room. I saw house cleaning removed our old wet towels and made the bed. I was outraged. I went to the front desk and the receptionist was actually very sympathetic which I appreciated. She said her manager would be in in the morning. I didn’t find anything missing and luckily I had taken our Ipads and electronics with us. I wasn’t trying to get something out of them, I was just floored this had happened. Our room was now filled with bugs that had flown in there all day and was attracted by the lights left on in the room. The next morning I went to the desk and the new receptionist saw the notes from the night before. I asked for the manager and she said there wasn’t a manager there but there was a “housekeeping manager”. The receptionist said if we contact Expedia they would give us the room for free. We had to go thru Expedia since we paid Expedia and Expedia pays them. We spent 45 minutes on the phone with them. We were told we had to call the next day when the hotel manager was there. We spent another 30 minutes the next day and were promised the charges would be taken off. A month later they still were not. We spent went into the calling them back vortex. They now said they would give us a free room if we ever went back…What??? They then would only give us 1 night instead of two because they only left the door open with our belonging for 1 day. I will never go to this hotel or use...
