I purchased over $2,500 worth of furniture online and set delivery up for Tuesday September 10th. When I initially placed the order, I only paid for threshold delivery. However, the day after I placed my order, I received a phone call from the Holland location and was convinced to pay the Additional $90 for full set up and delivery. I was given a phone number to call and told to add it to my order. I called the phone number the next day and waited on hold for almost 30 minutes in order to pay them an additional $90 for the full set up. I called the Holland location the following day to make sure that they had received my additional funds and that I was indeed set up for full delivery and set up. They confirmed that they had received my money and that the order had been changed for full set up and delivery. On the day of the delivery I got a text message around 8 oāclock in the morning telling me they were on my way with my furniture. They started bringing the furniture in. I left the room for just a couple of minutes to attend to my dogs that were locked in a different room. I heard my front door close and came back out and the delivery people were gone and had just dropped everything in my living room, fully packaged and not assembled. They didnāt say a word to me before they left the premises. I tried to call the store and got a message that they donāt open until 10 AM. I was extremely frustrated with the fact that all of this furniture was still wrapped in plastic and cardboard, and dropped in my living room. The dining room table still had a moving blanket wrapped around it, no tools to assemble the table, and no directions on how to assemble it. I wrestled with the sectional and got all of the plastic and cardboard removed, and the furniture moved and sat in the right location and the cardboard and plastic to the dumpster. At this time I could get a hold of the store and I will say that the customer service representative that I talked to was very apologetic and said she would take care of it. I also noticed that the chair that they dropped off that was supposed to be brown looked extremely gray and I let her know that they had delivered the wrong chair. In fact, everyone I spoke to from the store said that the chair looked gray. Online the chair is depicted as very brown. I told them at this point I just wanted the right chair delivered and a refund for the delivery fee. Two of the delivery crew did show up at my door to pick up the chair and when they were here, they offered to assemble the table for me, which was kind of them. One of the gentlemen told me that the chair was their version of brown And asked if he could take the back of the recliner back to their store to confirm this. The other gentleman that was with him that was assembling the table also agreed with me that the chair was gray. When the first gentleman returned, he brought the store manager back with him. The store manager walked into my apartment and carried three color swaths with him and showed me that it was their version of brown. I showed him the online picture and he basically said that it didnāt matter what it looked like online that this was their color. He never apologized for my experience and walked back out of the apartment and left it at that. A few days later after numerous people, stopping by my home and remarking the fact that the chair was gray and the sofa was brown. I decided that I was not happy with the situation. I called the store and was told that the manager would call me back. He was extremely rude and short with me and told me that I could return the chair if I wanted to, but that I was going to have to pay the delivery charge to come back to my house and get the chair. Even after all of the mistakes made on their behalf. I still have not been refunded for the initial full delivery charge for furniture that was not fully delivered and set up. I will say that I was extremely impressed with most of the staff despite the many mistakes made, but I absolutely was not impressed with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām finding it very difficult to put into words how frustrated I am with Value City Furniture right now. I ordered a new sectional couch and dining room table on May 6, 2024 for my new apartment. This is my first apartment so all the furniture I ordered was going to be large pieces that were key to my living space and day to day comfort. I expressed when I placed my order that I do not currently own a couch or dining table so these pieces were important to have on time. I was given a delivery date of June 22 as that is when I was moving into my apartment. I figured having over a month of time between placing the order and delivery was more than adequate. I received a call about a week before my delivery that the date has been delayed until July 16, with no explanation. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and didnāt complain, as things can happen here and there out of our control. Deep down I was already upset as this meant I would be several weeks without a couch or dining table. As July 16 approached I got another call that the delivery date has been pushed out yet again until July 27, and at this point I become increasingly frustrated and upset as up to this point I have had to use an air mattress as a couch and patio set as my dining room table for almost a month. I consulted with the store and they told me the dining room chairs were holding everything up but that they could look into it and see if at least the couch and dining table could be delivered so I could have something in the meantime. Well to my not so surprise nobody ever got back to me. At this point, since my delivery date of July 27 was approaching I got online to check my delivery status and it was now changed to AUGUST 24! NOBODY ever called to inform me of this quite drastic change which is not only unprofessional and a poor reflection on Value City, but it is incredibly disrespectful to my time especially considering my situation. I would have literally just sat at home waiting all day Saturday if I hadnāt checked myself. Itās poor customer service that nobody could even be bothered to even call and let me know. I had to call customer service myself to figure out what is going on, only this time to be told now the couch is holding up the order. I thought you said it was the chairs? So now not only am I getting conflicting stories, but who knows when the furniture will arrive. Iāve already spent over $2,000 and have nothing to show for it. It has been months past my delivery date at this point and I have NOTHING, and nobody has any answers. Not to mention Iām still living in a space without furniture, which is unacceptable. Something needs to be done about this, and Iāve already been given the āyou can come in and pick out something elseā run around which is completely ridiculous. Why would I do that? I already spent weeks picking out the furniture I wanted and what would work for my space. Also, I would be hesitant to do that anyway because who knows when that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDO NOT RECOMMEND. Read before buying from here. We spent 5 figures here, well over $10k, at Value City Furniture in Holland for our new house. Yesterday 4/22/15 the delivery men came to my house to drop some of our furniture and put it together. And they left a mess all over my house, my yard and left my window open. (I will say that they were kind and friendly to me) Only some of the furniture was dropped off because the rest wonāt be here till May and July. Which is annoying because of the amount we spent and canāt even get all. But it is what it is. (That obviously is not the deliver menās fault) They brought the furniture in and I told them I was leaving after they brought it in. I needed to feed my son and take my kids to the sitter. I told them Iād be back. They had my number for communication. I told them they could open the windoe because it was hot but to please close it afterwards. They called me 45 minutes after I left and said it was done. Great! Love that it was done so quickly. When I came back there was trash all over my yard, and trash and styrofoam ALL over my house. (Trash as in the package pieces, styrofoam and cardboard) And they left one of the dressers in my living room which was supposed to go in the master bedroom and I told them that. So I had to move that which was heavy. And the window was open. I called value city furniture today 4/23/25, and the gentleman who took notes of what I said, said āI took notes, the delivery manger may call you tomorrowā. Nothing else. I had to ask about the rest of my furniture. He couldnāt even say āIām sorry about thisā. Imagine spending well over $10k on stuff and someone leaves your house a disaster and then their customer service canāt even be respectful enough to say āIām sorry about that.ā And maybe someone will contact you tomorrow about it. Horrible delivery and customer service. Especially spending that amount on the stuff. And they still have more to deliver. Do NOT...
