Very beautiful & clean store but customer service was terrible at the Kroger Gas station. I shop at Kroger for the perk of getting cents off of gas per/gal. I got off of the highway more than 5miles away to go to this Kroger SPECIFICALLY for gas. I decided to buy a few things in the store then ger gas. No one was in the gas station booth when I pulled up to get gas so I waited & after waiting awhile then I decided to swipe my Kroger card at the pump when it asked was I a Kroger Member. It accepted my card & offered me .35 cents per gal off $2 per gal. I then started the pump & it stopped at .53 cents pumped. By the time I went back to the gas desk Sheryl was there & I told her what happened. She did not want to give me my discounted gas & at regular price. I told her this was not right & I got all the way off the hwy miles away & shop at Kroger bc I get gas points. She then told me I had to go back into thr store to Customer Service. I had ti drive back, wait in line awhile at Customer Service & they said they added the points back onto my card. I go back outside & back to the gas station then the gas attendant tells me I can now only get 30cents per gal & not my .35cents per gal. I told her I was not going to argue about the .30 vs .35cents bc I had to head to Michigan. I appreciate if Kroger contacts me bc I shop at Krogers weekly and for the reason to get gas points. I don't appreciate that I then don't get full credit & I base my shopping & gas off my budget & so when I am not gettinh what I earned this effects my household balance. I don't feel I should be inconvenienced, shortened or penalized from not getting my full fuel points bc the gas attendant was not there when I needed as a customer. I appreciate if Krogers can...
Read moreIn the Greater Toledo Metropolitan Economic Zone (GTMEZ) this is the fourth finest Kroger's; it just barely earns four stars. Below this one we start the descent into three starts and down. This Kroger's has the finest selection of clearance items. I don't know if that means they are mismanaging (likely), but I am indifferent to the reason, I am a beneficiary of whatever that reason is. They have a pretty decent deli/cheese/sushi area. Very nice and clean customer rest rooms. Perhaps the finest of Kroger's in the GTMEZ. Parking is little cramped. They have an especially ill-designed entrance off of Dussel Drive if you are westbound. This could have easily been a Five star, but what sinks it is its location. Convenient? Oh Definitely. But what I mean is its proximity to communities of disreputable persons. If you go due east of this Kroger's you will find the Maumee slums. They are right there, one layer behind Fricker's et al. It's the low-rent section of Maumee. Go just north of this Kroger's, immediately on the northern edge of the Ohio Turnpike, and you'll find the scummy apartments that are south of Heatherdowns. Every sort of vice occurs in those dwellings. And this is the local Kroger's for them. And they show up here, clogging the lanes with their rudeness and poor dress. It's really a shame. I still frequent this Kroger's, and I think the Kroger Corporation had high hopes for this one, but the changing demographics of South Toledo and North Maumee are...
Read moreI have to say that this place is the most racially profiled place I've been in quite awhile. If you are of color be prepared to be watched/followed around by plain clothes loss prevention personnel. I visited this store twice and had the same experience but on different days. While I was there I was monitored by surveillance cameras while shopping because they announced it over the PA systems both times while shopping there. My attire is rather professional so to think that had anything to do with is absurd. Whilst they continue to look at individuals like me in that manner and I have come to patronize their store. The person that they think aren't stealing all the while is taking for all they got and getting away with it! Lol I won't be spending my money here anymore. The only reason I went back was to return what I bought previously for this reason right here. My hard earned money is my power and I don't like feeling like I'm looked at like a thief just because I'm of color. So I will take my power so where else where I feel better respected as equal patron as...
