My daughter and I were really looking forward to trying out Five Guys, because we both love a good burger joint, and it looked promising - but we won't be going back.
The good: It was clean and comfortable, decor and seating were fine. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was cooked pretty quickly.
Not so great: The food. It may be personal taste preference, but neither of us liked our food. The buns were too soft/doughy to hold up to the filling - they were quickly soggy and mushy, even though the filling appeared to be cooked correctly (not overly wet). If the bun were grilled, we couldn't tell. My daughter said her beef patties were bland/needed seasoning. The American cheese tasted like typical, processed American cheese and they didn't have other options. My grilled veggie & cheese sandwich had bell peppers, mushrooms and onions. The peppers were cooked to barely soft, which would be fine but the onions were cooked to translucent and the mushrooms to very soft, so the textures didn't match. I don't know if that's the norm (being my first time), but the peppers seemed undercooked. That said, even if cooked right it would not have tasted good to me - especially with that overly processed cheese and Wonderbread-like bun. The french fries were fine; nothing special, but generally tasty and cooked well.
FYI: It's a very limited menu. Beef burgers, beef hot dogs, fries, milkshakes and drinks. While intentional and it works for the theme, it won't work for a family or group if anyone needs/wants something different. (No turkey/chicken or veg patty/dog options at all.) They do offer a grilled cheese sandwich and a veggie sandwich (with or...
Read moreI recently visited Five Guys all by myself and had a truly delightful time. The staff there are just wonderful, especially Danny at the cash register. He was so friendly and helpful, asking me about my favorite burger toppings. I appreciate how attentive and courteous he was. While enjoying my meal, I noticed an employee diligently cleaning the restaurant. I struck up a conversation with him and discovered his name was Daniel, a hardworking 19-year-old. I was impressed by his dedication and told him so. He seemed genuinely pleased by the compliment and thanked me for acknowledging his efforts. When I needed to use the restroom, I found out I didn't know the code. Daniel, the same employee I had just spoken to, came over with a warm smile and offered to help. He not only gave me the code but also assured me to ask him if I needed anything else. It's refreshing to see young people like Daniel taking responsibility and providing excellent customer service. After finishing my meal, I noticed Daniel cleaning the table I had been sitting at. He gave me a friendly smile and wished me a great day. The whole experience left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling. I would give Five Guys a solid 5/5 rating and highly recommend visiting. The staff, especially Danny and Daniel, deserve recognition and a well-deserved raise for their...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to try five guys after watching beard meats food. He is a competitive eater and he loves five guys he’s always talking about his creation of a milkshake. It is a peanut butter milkshake with bacon bits. My sons took me out for my birthday to No Ho’s. I was sadden at my experience there for the first time since I was introduced to it. Anyways, this is not a rating about No Ho’s this is a rating about five guys. I did eat some of the meal at Noho’s so, my appetite was curbed. I was still excited to try five guys. When I walked in and looked at the menu I was surprised that they had hotdogs. I love a good hotdog. I ordered a cheeseburger, hotdog and a milkshake. I was very disappointed at all of the items I had ordered. For the price, the meal was not worth it. The bacon they used in the milkshake was old and it ruined the milkshake. The milkshake itself was good but I had to spit out the pieces of bacon as I came across them. However, I will give five guys one more chance because, like I said, my appetite was curbed but still I wasn’t very pleased...
