This place started out okay. We weren't able to get ahold of anyone and clerk was on the phone with another patron. We were finally able to get in after multiple calls. 1. They actually don't have any other parking other than the one on the street. 2. We did not get the mans name but he was super friendly! we absolutely loved him and his French accent, he also cooked us an amazing breakfast and greeted us with kindness every time he saw us. 3. The room was plain, there was not trash can and they didn't clean it at all the whole time, the excuse was COVID, but after meeting the other staff members I'm sure it was super convenient for them. So we had a room full of sand and nothing to clean with. 4. The "beach towels" issued to us were old and worn out, and they had no lawn chairs at the time(due to hurricanes. this was September 2021, if anyone can let me know if they had lawn chairs during your stay). 5. On our second to last day we were greeted by an absolutely terrible women cooking breakfast, she would not answer anyones questions she would only point at the menu. ( she was on the phone using her AirPods the WHOLE time)When I had asked for more orange juice she completely ignored me, and when I asked again she yelled at me to give her a moment.Another patron was trying to ask for Advil/tylenol and she hushed her and asked to her to only order what was on the menu. Absolutely hateful, terrible service. I wasn't able to finish my breakfast because I was so angry for getting scolded while on vacation that I packed out bag and immediately booked a room at NOBU. I went to check out and she acted like she was so surprised that we were leaving after her absolutely terrible service. She only apologized to my boyfriend and continued to talk to the person on her AirPods. Once we settled at our new hotel room, I called to speak to the manager. I was told the manager wasn't available and that the "sweet lady" up front would never to any of the actions I described above. Still waiting on a call from the manager its...
Read moreThe goods: The best about this property is, that it’s located in a very good location . It takes you 15 mins walk to deco district and 15 min each side walk to the beach which is pretty good. And the best thing is you have a target and another big store two blocks away from you that is really good to get your water, snacks and fruits specially when you have a kid.
And the bad are:
1- The biggest problem with the property is, that you can’t call it a hotel, but it’s more like of a private property that you get through Airbnb. Because COVID is an excuse for everything for them. It’s really rediculous that over a 4 night stay in there, they did not only provide a room service, but also no bed sheets or towels were provided for exchange. If there is COVID then cleaningness is way important and a two time room services should be provided or at least a voccume should be provided so you can clean up your own room and change your bed sheets and towels. 2- breakfast is a very limited option and same menu everyday cooked by a very unprofissional cook , who also does the cleaning for the rest of the day so you cant blame it on ..... , so keep your expectations low about the breakfast. in addition the cook barely knows any English so you need to show a picture how you want you omelets. 3- on the first 10 mins of our entry in there the big piece of wood right by our room door fall off and miss my daughter in half a inch to hit her on the head. We got really lucky coz that could have resulted in a ER. 4- you don’t get toothpaste or brush so make sure you bring it with your self .and shampo and soup is only good for one person and one shower , after that you r not provided with any so please put that on...
Read moreWe stayed at Bars B&B for 7 nights. We had such a blast.
We were on our 10th year anniversary so they have us room #8 which is separte than the other rooms (except for #7). This room was outside in it's own building. So this have us a little more privacy. #8 Is definately the best room.
The jacuzzy was nice but we only used it once since it the temperature outside was always in the 90s.
The breakfast is good but the options are limited. Scrambled eggs, Omelettes or Pancakes. After 7 days, you feel like having something different. You can eat breakfast outside or inside, both are cozy and a good place to meet other guests.
The best part of Bars B&B is the free wine and the employees.
Carlos worked at night when we were there. He always had good stories to tell. Me and my wife would go have a chat with Carlos for an hour or more pretty much every night. He's easy to talk to.
Charlie worked most mornings, it was fun getting to talk in french with him. He's a very friendly guy and gave us nice tips on how to travel around Miami.
And then there's Marlon, We definately had lots of fun with him. He took us out to parties with the International Hostel and stayed with us to show us around the clubs in Miami. Even one night that we happened to be out and he wasn't working. He kept us entertained the whole time.
The location of this B&B is great, it's walking distance from everything good in South Beach, clubs, beaches, restaurants. But it's still not on a busy street, so it's still quiet.
If I'm ever back in Miami, I'm definately...
