We were here visiting Miami waiting to board a cruise ship and we really wanted to have Mexican but since we're not from the area we thought we would want to order delivery.
We found the Dulce Vida Mexican restaurant and decided that we would order from here because it had good reviews and it also offered delivery.
After 20 minutes had passed and we had not heard anything because we were told when we placed the order online that we would get a confirmation text message and we confirmed that the number was right and we never received a text. So my husband after 30 minutes called the business and the lady that answered the phone said that they don't offer delivery.
We explained that we went to their website and used their preferred delivery which was square and that we placed our order and it said that it would be 10 to 15 minutes for delivery and she said our order was sitting there waiting to be picked up from us.
We explained that we ordered delivery and that we wanted it delivered and then miraculously while we're on the phone with her. She says oh well. Your delivery driver is on the way to the restaurant.
She said that it was going to be another 10 or 15 minutes and before our food was going to be delivered and I said can you please just cancel it because our food had at this point already been sitting there for 10 minutes and we did not want to get cold and soggy food.
She said I cannot give you a delivery. We don't do that here then. She continue to speak to someone else there in Spanish so I don't know what was being said. But then she came back on the line and said that the order had left there with a delivery person and that it would be here in no more than 10 minutes.
That conversation took place at 8:15 p.m. It is now 8:41 p.m. as I am writing this review and we still do not have our food.
So we paid for food that we did not get or will get and will be cold and inedible and we did not get a refund as we requested. So I would think twice before you actually order from this place if you want to get your food and have it be warm and not get the runaround from the people at the business.
I give restaurants and businesses very fair reviews upon how their food is, their service, their location, their facility, their buildings. All of that and my fair review of this place is that if you can't offer refunds and you can't follow through on what you say about your food delivery and don't even acknowledge that you have delivery that you should not be...
Read moreA cute takeout spot walking distance from the beach if you’re craving some tacos! Here are my positives and negatives:
POSITIVES This is the place you come to if you LOVE anything and everything Birria. My husband ordered their beef birria tacos and I ordered their shrimp tacos - he said the birria tacos were pretty good and filling (he got four tacos and I got three). 5 - 10 minute walk from the beach depending on where you’re at - so pretty convenient if you’re hungry during/after your beach day. They were VERY fast - our order was out within minutes. Pretty pleasant customer experience - we were greeted by the cashier, she had a sign of the most popular items that are recommended (a lot of which include birria) - we asked 1-2 questions and she answered them. Price is on par with other places in the neighbourhood. The green salsa that came with the tacos was DELICIOUS - if you like spice you’ll enjoy it! If you like jarritos, they had a bunch of flavours. The vibe inside was cute with the bright colours and pink walls. :)
NEGATIVES There’s no seating - so if you’re looking to sit down you can’t or if you’re okay with standing and eating they have a little counter. Otherwise, just take your food back to the beach for a mini picnic! :) If you can’t eat birria like myself (I don’t eat meat unless it’s halal) then you’ll have to go with the shrimp or fish tacos. The shrimp tacos were decent but not out of this world. However, given the service, and proximity to the beach - I would come back to try the fish tacos. They could be a bit cheaper given it’s a takeout place, however, keep in mind they’re walking distance from the beach and they are places much more expensive give it’s a tourist neighbourhood.
Conclusion: overall I would come here again to try out the fish tacos or I was visiting Miami with someone who loves birria tacos, given the service, proximity and taste. I’ve taken a star off for the shrimp tacos, the lack of seating and...
Read moreThis place is so good that I had written a review prior to this and now I had to rewrite it because there are things that I missed out. The Burris pizza is a smash hit a friend of ours who is the planner in the group found this place on TikTok and boy were they not wrong. We were looking for something quick, delicious and authentic and Dulce Vida hit it right on the head. It’s a small location, however it can’t be messed with its colourful insides and a high top Standing bar where one to eat their recently purchased tacos while they’re hot. In a matter of three days, my friends and I managed to go there twice with our first orders we bought chicken tacos And the pizza. Blew our wines away. The cheese pulled from the pizza was so long that you can extend it over the length of your arm and the birria juice Flavour that we used to fry the tortilla and gave the perfect crisp and to each taco bite. The meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful, and the salsa day was out of this world, hot and comforting all at once.
The second time we went, we had purchased the chicken tacos, The birria tacos and birria empanadas. It was my first time trying, authentic empanadas and I don’t think I could eat another from anyone else. Fresh ingredients and made right there to order. Once again, the Tacos were a work of art.
The only regret that I have from the entire experience that I did not get to try the shrimp tacos, which would’ve been a life of favourite I’m sure however I have new and I’m waiting to go back to try and see the contender is. Will 100% go back and hopefully get to say hi to the nicest woman at the counter, Nicole. She greeted us with a big Smile and always had the best...
