We decided to drive into Mt. Airy for a starbucks on our way to Greensboro NC. to save time, we placed our order using the App and upon arrival received a notice that it would be ready for pickup at 4:20 pm (Dec 30). went to the door to find it locked with a note saying understaffed, please us drive thru only today. got in the car and in line at 4:20 and waited, the line was slowly progressing so i called the store directly and was informed by a young lady that due to staffing, I had to use the drive thru to get the mobile order. i asked i there was any other way, answer was sorry, no. waited and waited. finally got to the speaker where one would usually order and told them it was a mobile order. She confirmed the order and then told us they could not make it, the Decaf mach. was malfunctioning. After looking for alternative drink, decided to forget it, and asked them to just credit the already paid for drink. Sorry, we cant, you have to go to the drive up window to do that, we said fine, just give us a hot chocolate. Now we could not leave, no way out of the line. so we proceeded, very slowly. As i rounded the building i notice two diff. cars drive up, park, and in about 10 minutes, walk back to their cars with 6 drinks??? What, how did they do that!. Finally go to the window 42 minutes after we had started, only to get a really bad drink! i asked how others were able to walk in for mobile orders and was informed that they knocked on the door and we let them in. I asked why i was told there was no other way than using the drive thru, which received a sigh and shrugged shoulders. Not even an apology. unbelievable! and totally unacceptable! i will never visit the Mt. Airy Store again, i recommend you do...
Read moreI'm not one to leave reviews, but i was so excited about going here when they opened until our bad experience two times in a row. The first time we came through the drive-thru 10/31/2017. I asked for the "Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino with ice and whipped cream". Got to the window and she said "here you go Salted Caramel Frappe". Well after i had pulled off i tried it and it was a hot regular coffee. After waiting in line 15 minutes i didn't want to go back to wait again so i just drank the coffee. Well The second evening 11/1/17 i went through and ordered a "iced mocha" and i actually got the correct thing this time i thought but it taste like decaf coffee. It was so nasty i couldn't even drink it once again after waiting 15-20 min. in drive-thru. I was so aggravated i didn't want to seem rude and take it back in so my husband went inside and told them this is the 2nd night in a row we've paid for the wrong thing and the guy looks at him and says "ok" and looks at him like what do you want me to do about it. So he asked him to fix it and they tried to tell my husband they didn't make Mocha that it was no such thing. So they fixed me the same one we took in and told them it wasn't right. The lady said if it wasn't right she didn't know what to tell me because they don't have Mocha's. I understand they just opened but please get my order right. Also if they don't have mocha's what about the Starbucks mocha's that Wal-mart sales that's what i wanted. Guess i'll just stick to the one's...
Read moreIve hesistated to write this review in hopes things would improve. I didnt want to commit to a knee jerk reaction but after 4 consistent experiences enough is enough.
Ive been to this Starbucks over the past few weeks about 4 or 5 times. Each time is worse than the last. Ill place a mobile order for 1 or 2 drinks and 1 half is ready the other takes a literal hour to get. Sometimes we have to leave and return just to get it. I placed a mobile order last night and was told it would be ready in 10 mins I waited 30 and left. Along with other people who were so frustrated. So you owe me a drink.
The café area is usually a little messy and theres NEVER any napkins or straws by the front door. Again all these issues have been consistent over a few visits which means thats the norm.
The obvious and main factors are staffing. You're understaffed and your staff keeps taking order after order after order while 1 single employee is making all the drinks. Its simple math; youre overloading the "kitchen" and its understaffed thus a bottleneck occurs.
I know you can afford more staff, youre wrapped around the building frequently and theres often 10-30 people inside waiting anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour for drinks. Your customers are committed, are you?
Do something before you lose customers Starbucks Mt. Airy.
