If we are reviewing the hotel and the hotel itself, it gets 5/5 stars, the owner and his wife were very accommodating to me and my friend, we had emailed that we were going to be a late arrival around 9:30pm and he was very understanding about letting us check in late, we hit some traffic on 3rd ave S right before Kings Hwy which delayed us even more to about 10:40pm and he called to check in to make sure we were okay and still coming, his wife was very sweet and held great conversation with me while I checked in and thought it was very much like talking with family. The room was very spacious and clean and I was very surprised to find a full size fridge and microwave, the bathroom was beautiful with the fixtures and lighting, also which the mirror allowed you to change the color of the lighting which was a very neat feature. Bring your own toiletries as they are not supplied (but that is disclosed during your reservation). Water pressure from the shower head was amazing and the water got very hot very fast, 10/10! The beds were comfy and clean, no weird smells, and the TV was a nice size. They also allowed my dog to stay and he is a German shepherd which was a huge plus for me, AC was very cold, and overall we enjoyed our room. The hotel is steps from the beach with a private grassy section that the hotel owns with their pool loungers available for guests to use, my recommendation for future guests is to not let your pet use this area as a bathroom because I don’t believe that is the purpose, and if you are going to use this area to let them poo, please pick it up. No one wants to clean up or smell your animal so please be responsible and clean up after them, the pool deck and hot tub areas were very clean and had a beautiful view, the pool does get a little chilly since it is shaded in the afternoon but we did not mind. My only complaint and it truly isn’t even a big deal since I am an animal lover would be the cats, there were lots of stray kitties and a bowl full of wet and dry cat food that was baking in the summer sun so it left a not so pleasant smell, but again, it’s not too big of a deal and it didn’t affect anything. We as two young women thought the area was a safe area of Myrtle Beach and we would definitely recommend to friends and family and we will come back ourselves. Oh as a plus, there is a little mini mart directly across the street that had everything you might need,...
Read moreSo I am not someone that leaves reviews but this needs to be said. We paid 180 for a room tonight AT FIRST they were very nice! Then we got to our room that (was never shown to us) we were told that it was remodeled and it had been for the most part. We noticed that there were long term people there THATS FINE we noticed cat food outside of the room and animals in the rooms THATS fine myself and the other girl staying with me we BOTH have animals at home! We go to the room to eat a snack due to it was raining we were eating and we hear beating and banging on the door and we decided we were uncomfortable staying there. We had spent a TOTAL of MAYBE 30 min in the room the beds were still made and no trash was left. We went to talk to the front desk and I walked up the the guy behind the counter and quietly said I think we’re going to go stay at a different location and he said do you not like the room and I just simply shook my head no I didn’t want to cause a uproar cause I’m trying to be a better person in life and trust the lord always. BUT he got defensive right off the bat and was like why do you not like the room and I tried to leave it alone and I said I just was not aware that there are long term people living here and I’m just not comfortable here TRIED to leave it alone AGAIN and he was like there isn’t I said yes there is cause there is cat food and a cat in the window and another room below us literally has decorated their door and has a grill sitting out there. He said well no refunds just because you don’t like the room. NEVER did I ask for one I just wanted to leave. He said my wife like animals just because you don’t, don’t mean you’re getting your money back so at this point I’m fed up so I finally get a little snippy back. I tell him never once did I say that I don’t like animals. I told him I wanted my deposit back and we wanted to leave. The gentleman behind us was in there complaining about mold all over the walls. So we were crapped out of $180 but it’s okay the lord is bigger than that and so am I. Do with this as you please but...
Read moreMy new go-to hotel in Myrtle Beach! I've stayed in MB, North MB, Murrells Inslet, Surfside, you name it. I've stayed in AIRBNBs, GRBOs, standard hotel rentals, and with friends. Of all my spots, this is my fave for me as a solo traveler, or traveling with other adults. It 's techically a motel (rooms open to outside), but I honestly couldn't care less. It was quiet and calm and I felt safe the whole time as a relatively petite woman. This is a family owned business, not a multinational corporate chain. And you feel it as soon as you walk in the lobby. The father carried my huge up the stairs for me (twice), the mom offered me some delicious homecooked food, and the daughter was so kind and thoughtful. The room was imacculate, updated, and comfortable. One of the most comfortable beds I've slept in including much "nicer" hotels. Smart TV, smart bathroom mirror (my first time seeing one of those). Hot shower, good water pressure. Large closet area for storing suitcase and hanging clothes, and large dresser. Full sized fridge and microwave. Outdoor pool and hot tub along with green space and bbq grill. Easy beach access. It is worth paying extra for an oceanfront room, although I stayed in oceanfront and streetfront and they were both fine. I got an amazing deal of $56/night on Orbitz for an October stay.
Very walkable section of the strip imo. I did not have a car during my stay and did fine with a cab or Uber (roughly $10 plus tip) or the city bus ($1.50 one way) to and from the airport and walking along the Strip or to Kings Highway for all my food and entertainment and shopping.
My favorite general store is across the street and they have hot coffee for cheap along with ice cream, wine/beer, snacks, and microwaveable meals, along with souvenirs. There is a local ice cream spot a block down and a Ben and Jerry's a couple blocks down. There is a really good breakfast/brunch spot in walking distance.
