In short, I would stay here again, not quite a resort. On the beach.

We stayed in July of 2025. We got two rooms a family suite room and a king bed room.

The family suite room is a family-friendly suite designed with three semi-private sleeping areas, each separated by partial walls and a hallway-style walkway. While the spaces offer visual privacy, there are no doors between them, so sound carries easily throughout the room. It’s a great setup for families with kids or groups who want some separation without complete isolation. The draw-back is that there is only one bathroom for a hotel room that is advertised as sleeps 6. The shower and toilet were in the same area, and no door separating the sink area from the toilet/shower area, so again not ideal for a room advertised as sleeps 6 people.

The rooms were clean when we arrived. They were mostly stocked with the normal items, however the family room only was stocked with one roll of toilet paper and no set of sheets for the pull out couch led to two visits to the front desk, see below about the front desk. The family suite has a kitchenette, which had pots and pans for use. The lighting in the bathroom area with the sink was dim, so doing makeup was difficult for the ladies, and shaving my face was difficult to tell if I got everything. The other mirror in the main bed area didn’t have an outlet near it, so using it to straighten or curl hair was difficult. The beds were firm and the pillows were not great, so bring your own pillow. The king bed room was like any other hotel room. Mostly the same set up as the family room, no kitchenette. There was no safe in the family suite.

Parking is available onsite, but includes only one spot per room, so plan ahead. The parking garage has two levels, so it is possible to park in the shade of the lower level, nice for South Carolina summers.

The hotel front desk was understaffed. There were times when only one person was working, so expect waits during busy times. This is inconvenient as there is no routine housekeeping during our stay. To get clean towels, more toilet paper, or anything else you have to visit the front desk. With that said the two ladies that worked the front desk were both helpful at getting what we needed. The third morning of our stay housekeeping came to the room. My teenage son was in the room, so not sure if they thought we were checking out, but he was able to get more towels and the housekeeper took out the trash.

We stayed on the second floor (the lobby floor). The second floor allowed for great views of the beach and pool from the balcony. There was a pool bar which provided a DJ around the hours of 12-5pm, not sure the exact times. The DJ and pool were very loud from our second floor room, even with the sliding door shut, so if you have kids that nap, ask for a room on a higher floor. The bar was card only and ID required so plan ahead.

There was a restaurant on-site, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

There was a spa area on-site, but we didn’t see any guest use it, and it didn’t look staffed or like a place you’d want to get a message.

The hotel is located closer to the airport, but not close enough to hear takeoffs from the room. The planes routinely takeoff and fly over towards the south, so kids might enjoy watching from the beach. The location wasn’t particularly located next to any great restaurants or anything exciting, so expect to drive to do anything interesting. There was a Walmart Market conveniently close.

If you are a SC native, you will have the expected experience staying at this hotel, but not as wild as other places off the beachfront. There was a palmetto bug in our room, but...

DO NOT STAY HERE! This hotel is not worth your money. We checked in last Wednesday afternoon. The lady at the front desk was on the phone when we approached so we waited to the side patiently. After hanging up she asked how she could help us and I said we had a reservation for the night, I started to explain we had a second reservation for the same type of room there for the following night and through the rest of the week. This was due to a booking error on our end. While explaining, she cut us off to start basically acting panicked as if there were no rooms available or something. The whole time she seemed very flustered. She mentioned the guy who was supposed to be there hadn't arrived. I apologized and mentioned we were in no rush so she could take her time and calm down a little. She then picked the phone back up and while speaking on the phone handed me our room keys without explaining anything about the property or even which number on our key card slip was our room number. After arriving to our room with the help of our neighbor, we were absolutely appalled. It was disgusting. The first thing we noticed was all of the dirt, mold and marks all over the walls. We tried to turn the temp on the AC down to cool down the room as it was super hot and humid in there when we arrived. After an hour or so we noticed the room hadn't cooled down at all. I went to inspect the AC closer and realized there was a half inch gap on both sides letting all the hot air in from outside. Also allowing bugs to get into the room. After noticing this I realized due to the humidity in the room there was a puddle of water on the ceiling dripping onto the bed closest to the balcony. You could see it happened before as there was bubbles in the paint where it was dripping and also discoloration and mold. After noticing there was no battery in the smoke detector in our room as someone had removed it. We decided it was time to pack our bags back up and go somewhere else. On our way out the door we ran into our neighbor who had helped us find our room. He let us know their AC in their room wasn't working either and that another neighbor found a cockroach in her room the previous night and left. At this point we were sure we were making the right decision leaving. On our way out I dropped off the room keys at the front desk and let the young lady(different from before) know we would be leaving and not returning for our other reservation the following day. She asked why and I told her the state the room was in, I also said we considered asking for a new room but after hearing the things from our neighbors we decided it would be best to just leave. She was very apologetic about our experience but our minds were made up. We stayed at a way nicer, cleaner hotel still on the beach with better amenities for half the price we originally booked this hotel for. The lady at the new hotel even upgraded our room to an Oceanfront room after hearing our horror story. The worst part is I am now fighting with the hotel to get a refund for the stay, they're telling the 3rd party I booked through that I never told them we wouldn't be returning so they refuse to give me a refund. Even though I literally returned my keys and spoke with the lady at the front desk about not returning and even why we wouldn't be. All in all terrible experience, would...

First of all, I want to clarify that I was never offered the sun glasses some people mentioned, and even if I had been, I would not have accepted them. I’ll try to be brief, but I have several important points to share.

Like many other reviewers, I agree that the photos and descriptions online do not reflect the actual reality of the hotel. The pictures make it seem new, but in reality it was just partially renovated with a few updates to make it look nicer.

Check-in and Check-out: Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM, which really limits the amount of time you get to stay. I only spent one night, and the total was almost $500 because they required half as a deposit—something I only learned about after making the reservation. At check-in, they also asked for my card for a deposit, or offered me a non-refundable $40 waiver fee.

Staff: The staff was neither good nor bad, but they didn’t provide any helpful information about amenities such as pool hours or whether breakfast was included.

Elevator: The elevator is extremely slow. Many guests were waiting in line for it, so I ended up using the stairs most of the time (and I was on the 4th floor).

Rooms and Balcony: All rooms do have ocean views, but unfortunately I couldn’t enjoy mine. Every time I tried to sit on the balcony, the smell of marijuana and cigarette smoke was constant. People were smoking all day, even around the pool, despite the posted signs clearly stating it was not allowed.

Noise Issues: That night, just as I was about to fall asleep after a long day, around 11:30 PM, loud fireworks started going off right outside—so close that I’m almost certain it was someone at the hotel. This went on for about 40 minutes, making it nearly impossible to sleep until after 1:00 AM. On top of that, there was a lot of running and noise in the hallways afterward. The next morning, I felt pressured to check out early because I had read in reviews that staff might knock on your door if you didn’t leave quickly, and I did not want to experience that.

Parking: Parking was another headache. The hotel has very limited spots. To park, you often have to leave your car across the street, about 800 feet away, and carry your things back without good access.

At the end of the day, I did receive my deposit back the next morning, but overall the stay was extremely disappointing. For the price paid, the experience was absolutely not worth it. I will definitely not be staying at this...

Edit: from reading other reviews post mine and my stay. Room cleanliness may be luck of the draw and maybe how busy of a season they are having. I stand by my review, we enjoyed it, and our room was clean. No hassle with deposit returns and we saw the cleaning lady come by everyday (she was nice, nicer than the front staff). I did not get free sunglasses for my review, I didn't even ask about their promotion. My review is my honest opinion. Nice place for the price would stay here again. Booked with Priceline and didn't realize until I was paying online that there is an extra $25/night "resort fee", that you have to pay in person. So don't be surprised at the extra cost at check-in. It seems that all rooms face the ocean with balconies and the room doors being an exterior hallway (much like a motel) with 2 central elevators. We had a King bed room with a fold out couch, so take my review with that view. Rooms were clean and nice with bar sink/microwave and mini fridge/freezer (5ft high model). My complaints are minor; lack of hanging places for towels. Just one on the shower door. I noticed a lot of rooms left things hanging out on the balcony to dry. Speaking of towels, you need to bring your own beach and pool towels only shower towels are provided. There are a couple of coat hooks for hanging things, but no closet. The ice machines were scarce. It looks like they used to have one on each floor, but the only one I found that worked was the main lobby and it ran out of ice mid-day. Their parking lot on site is tight. Long vehicles might have problems. They have parking across the street, but we didn't use it. Getting to the beach in the early morning is difficult. You normally go through the bar/pool area, but it doesn't open until 8am I believe. Normally you could walk from the lower garage around the north side to the public beach access, but it was closed due to construction next door. Most areas are accessible, but to get to the beach you have to take a flight of stairs plus another 5 steps up/down to cross the dune. If you have bad knees and don't like stairs take note of this.

All in all terrible experience, would never recommend.
