Arrived on a Sunday and was told room was not ready. That the 4pm check in time was just a " start time " and they would take my number and call me when the room was ready. Couldn't say when that would be, also couldn't send someone to clean the room we were supposed to be checking into. The girl at the desk was not friendly and basically said " can't tell you how long it could take but our website does say that a room isn't guaranteed at 4". And after speaking to her I looked it up, it does it's under "faqs" not directly listed anywhere else and certainly doesn't say that on your confirmation when you book. So be aware you may wait.... And wait for your room when you arrive. Pools were nice however the kids were not allowed to play with a blow up average size ball in the pool, but there were plenty of people eating ice cream and drinking in the pool. Funny, there is a sign right in front of the pool that says no alcohol at the pool, but there are " fish bowls" everywhere. You enforce kids playing with a blow up ball but not your alcohol policy? And the empty ice cream Styrofoam containers around the pool made the experience so much better. Maybe that's why the kids can't play ball, they may knock the trash in. It was raining one day and my daughter was sitting in a lounge chair that was in the same place it was in when we arrived, we didnt move it and a girl who apparently was the pool monitor came over to her and with her head bobbing attitude told my daughter she needed to move the chair she couldn't put it there. As I said the chair was already there so why had she not moved it when it was empty if it was in the wrong place, and who addresses a 13 yr old child with an attitude? My daughter looked at me dumbfounded. She asked if she could just go back to our room after. Way to go girl! I won't say what I truly thought of you in this review. Room was nice I will give them that and housekeeping did a good job in our room daily. We were on the 15th floor and the hallway smelled like the inside of a dumpster. My kids would run from the elevator to our room trying to hold there breath. Spray something in your hallways or clean the carpets. Or better yet find the source of the smell and remove it. The last thing I would like to mention is the pool closes at 11. Which is ok. But if you go down in the beach after that you have to go through the parking garage and around the hotel to get there. And the place to rinse your feet is locked up inside the pool area. My daughter and I got "lucky" a couple of times and the sprinkler system that waters the front was on when we came back. This may be part of the reason your hallways stink. We have stayed there before and had nothing but good things to say about the place. This time I will say if you don't mind your room not being ready, swimming with people as they eat in the pool, staff that has direct contact with people having an attitude and hallways that make you want to run for the emergency exit this is your...
Read moreGreat location, and nice size room but the room was in horrible shape. Everyday of our stay maintenance had to be called to fix something. Soon as we arrived after cleaning and spraying everything down with Lysol and Clorox we started checking everything to make sure it worked. First thing noticed was a tv in one room was not working, maintenance guy stated an entire cord was messing. This is something that should’ve been checked before our arrival. Then later in the day after buying tons of groceries to last us the remainder of the week, we noticed that the bottom part of the refrigerator was not getting cold at all. We had to put everything that was supposed to be in the refrigerator in the freezer to keep it from going bad. Eventually on day 3 someone finally got the refrigerator fixed. On days 2-4 maintenance had to come everyday to work on the microwave because it kept going out. The carpet was disgusting and when you sat on the couch it felt like you were literally sitting on the floor. The kids chose to pile in one bed and sleep uncomfortably rather than to sleep on the pullout couch. The room definitely needs many upgrades. The good thing about the room was being on the top floor on the end, other than that the best thing about the room was when we left. My mom is other and usually doesn’t have many complaints and this time she had many many complaints. Also, we decided to go down to order food at the Scoobys restaurant which was filled with people so we assumed the food would be good, but changed our minds because during Covid times the restaurant was packed with no rules of mask wearing and the lady making ice cream and drinks was not wearing gloves or washing hands between fixing ice cream and taking the money for the items which is disgusting. We did not order anything! Upon leaving the hotel at the end of our trip, I just so happened to look in one of the other penthouse suites to see if they were leaving the way we were and to amazement they were actually living the luxury life. They actually had beautiful hardwood flooring and the room even smelled cleaned compared to the dump we stayed in which was Penthouse 1-2 which included a lockout room. Thanks But No thanks to Penthouse Suite 1-2 Grand Atlantic...And to add more bugs were being seen throughout the stay that we kept cleaning up ourselves with our own cleaning products and not to mention my sister and nephew woke up with bites on them but we never seen anything so they left their room and went to stay with another relative at another hotel. We left that room closed until the end of our stay. We paid entirely too much money for this room for the way it went and being that it was spring break week there were no other rooms we could book. First horrible vacation I’ve ever had in a so called...
Read moreI will never stay here again. My family stayed Father's day weekend June 14th- 17th. After checking in at 5:30pm on the 14th we decided to pick up food & check out the amenities in the resort. When my crew return from the pool with the kids we notice bugs all over our countertops & on our food (KFC). Well.... the bugs were ROACHES! When we called the front desk because it was 10pm the clerk informed us there was nothing he could do because of the hour. They could not move us nor bring us anything to spray. So we had to go to Walmart & buy Raid. The next day we were put off by three different people. maintenance finally came @ 12noon & took off the plug/light covers & took pictures of bugs & evidence of roaches before we were finally moved to another suite but with no upgrade. The accommodation was another 3br, and it was smaller but cuter. The evening pool crew was amazing. They made sure the kids were safe & had fun,The only reason they get 1 star. Hats off to the two ladies!!! At check out we were only offered a $100 credit or $200 off the next stay (which will never happen again.) They general manager stated that the units are privately owned & they couldn't offer us anything else. We were never told this upon booking this 3br suite. Also during the stay, a big fight between two rooms under us broke out & the noise, commotion was out of this world for about 2 & 1/2 hours afterwards. The day of check out a housekeeper walked in without knocking 9:45am....stating the supervisor called her to the room. She later return & open the door again with her key & apologize she had the wrong room number earlier & laughed it off. I know she didn't knock because I was near the door loading things on a cart. When mentioning it to the general manager he acting as if it was a lie & stated he was sure he could roll the tape back & see her knocking. Also on the the 17th check out @ 10:15am other housekeepers we standing outside the door & asking what time are you leaving, & did we know what time check out was....? I laughed & closed the door & left them waiting for us to leave until 11:15 & they stood there. I was to pist to argue with the general manager at check out so I just got myself out of there to avoid a charge. I will forever make sure I read all reviews before booking at any resort regardless of...
