This one is tricky! Food was s0o00o good. Honestly had the best #hotdogs l've ever had. Last night | Ordered #carolina #dogs (ate it before I took a picture), #mango #habanero #wings #loadedfries. Wait was pretty lengthy but it was so good I went back today for the Carolina Dogs. Had to wait 20 minutes (just opened so it wasn't busy). I walked in all excited to order. Server at the door asked me if I was dining in or placing an order to go. Politely said "to go" had to head back home which is 4 hours away. She rolled her eyes and looked at her coworker and said "we not making no money today" and walked away from me. I didn't say anything because I understand we all have bills to pay. The other server (who witness the tantrum of her coworker) took my order perfectly fine. She was kind and respectful. Told me wait was 20 minutes so I waited. Customer walks in to pick up his order that he had placed before me. He had more than 2 bags of food so I'm thinking he has a big order. Okay. still waiting. The one that decided to walk away from me and not take my order was handing the customers food. The lady that took my order went back to check on my order and guess what happened? My order was given to the man that had just left. She ran outside to try to catch him to correct the mistake but he was already gone. So she goes to kitchen and comes out telling me "just a few more minutes" | said " yeah I know my order was given to the wrong person" she admits and says yes and apologizes. Had to wait another 20 minutes for the food and she offered me a complimentary drink due to the inconvenience. I respectfully declined because the the Atmosphere and service was horrible. Maybe if the others (Server and seemed like shift supervisor) were alert and communicated as a team this wouldn't have happened and their wait time would not be normalized as "Long" by the locals. But their food was really good. Service just sucked. Except the lady that took my order today...
Read moreFor this to be called a "Wing Company" is ridiculous. As you can see, these Canary Shoulders that they serve and call wings barely have anything to them. I expect more from Food Lion and Pizza Hut for their wings so to get this from a Wing Company is just a scam. Decided to try here for my birthday. Ordered take out. 20 wings and the loaded fries were almost $50. The wings were by far the smallest wings I've ever seen. When I was a fry cook, not only would I have been embarrassed to serve these, I would've been fired. A plus is that we could get the 20 wings in four flavors, at no extra cost. We got the ranch and it was very good. Pickle flavor was ok, seasoning with pickle juice on them. They messed up our order so we got the wet honey sriracha instead of the dry. I didn't taste much sriracha from it so it was basically a blackened wing with honey on it. The crab flavor was just Cajun seasoning and old bay, maybe just spicy old bay, but definitely not a wet sauce. Dry Garlic Parmesan had barely anything on it. The fries were very good. We ordered without chili. Everything on the fries were great too. The only complaint about the fries is that for $13 I feel like you should at least get half a pound, I would expect more though. Ours was on the smaller side and didn't even fill the bottom of the to-go box. Employees seemed nice and helpful over the phone. Inside was clean and well lit. Fries had a great cook and so did the wings but that's not saying much since our 20 shoulders couldn't have weighed much more than a pound. My warning should have been the people sitting to eat named all the other local wing places that they'd rather go to. My suggestion would be to fix your portions to be appropriate to price, have a clear description of your sauces instead of the customer having to ask over the phone, and fix your shoulders or knuckles or whatever you're selling, because they aren't wings. Nothing was bad, but I won't get caught by...
Read moreWhat a great find!
The wings were outstanding, and there were (almost too) many choices for sauces and rubs. Still, we managed to select 6 or 7 types for the 40 wings we ordered. (We got 2 20-wing platters. For every 20 wings, you are given a choice of up to 4 sauces/rubs.)
We started with mac 'n' cheese bites, which were listed as a special. They were small, but packed a nice flavor.
The tater tots we got with the wing platters were good, but not enough for 3 people. As an aside, the ketchup on the table was watery and kind of bland. I have a ketchup preference, and this wasn't it. In fact, it was the weakest link in an otherwise outstanding meal.
The wings were the best I have had in ages. Hot and delicious, they were meaty and generously sauced. The dry rubs were also delightful. There was plenty of ranch dressing for dipping, and a stack of napkins for wiping. I liked that the different flavors were marked with little flags. I would have liked more celery with each platter. (3 pieces seems a little light, but maybe I needed to ask for more.)
Finally, the service was fairly attentive. I didn't have to wait for refills of my sweet tea, but I did have to ask. The food was brought out promptly, and the server answered any questions accurately and with a smile.
We did not have any alcoholic beverages, but DM appears to have a solid selection of beers and liquor, along with some excellent Happy Hour specials.
I would most certainly visit Dirty Myrtle again, especially given the other menu options that I...
