As we entered the building we read a sign that said they were hiring for part time and full time positions as a cook. We didn’t think much of it. The server was very quick to help our group get seated and take our drink order. Our drinks came out quickly and our server provided excellent service, especially since she was the only server working (including bartending). We ordered two orders of fried pickles, two orders of mozzarella sticks, and the nachos to share as a table. However, we waited well over 1 hour to get these appetizers, and when we finally received the food, the fried pickle orders were WELL beyond what they should be. The pickles were completely dried out, and burnt. It seemed as if they were dumped in the fryer and forgotten about. Our server was very apologetic throughout the entire experience and let us know there that there was only one cook in the back and he was falling behind. She offered to remake the fried pickles, which we took her up on. Unfortunately she came back shortly to tell us the fried pickles were out, and offered us something else. Which was also out, but we appreciated the offer from the server.

Maybe bad timing on all of it. But overall the server was fantastic given the circumstances. With all of the great reviews we probably just had bad luck with the timing...

We got there simi late on a Saturday night (around 10), unaware that a bar closes as early as they did. When we got to the door the girls outside told us they couldn't serve food, we were bummed but proceeded. The female bartender was the Only decent thing about this place as she was nice, made good drinks, and didn't speak rude. However, the rest of the experience was suppar and not worth a second visit. One pool table, a dart board, and a dark atmosphere normally a huge perk for us but the people were aggressive and the guy who worked there was mean. More geared for elder visitors and early nights, certainly not for younger parents looking for dinner and night out. The guy who did last call was beyond rude. We got one game of pool in a a couple drinks and shots and left pretty unhappy. Responce: there may have been more than one but it was very dark and we found the one in the corner across from the bar. I'm not sure who the man was but he proceeded to turn off the lights and TV before we even...

This is a true hidden gem! The slogan on the door ‘ Enter as strangers, leave as friends’ is something we often hope for but rarely ever experience. They live it at The Barrel.

Kayla, our server, is a Cleveland, OH transplant (Go Tribe) and she’s a true gastro unicorn. We’re from Cleveland and I had my Browns shirt on and she noticed it and it got our conversation started. Her food recommendations were spot on and it made our experience that much better.

We were on our way to a seafood place that ended up being closed so we came upon this place on Google. Based on Kayla’s suggestion, we had fried pickles and the pretzel appetizer. The pretzels were UNBELIEVABLY GOOD, do not pass them up! We had blackened fish & chips and Cajun seafood bites, all were fantastic. All the dips and sides we had were so good too!

The owner came over and introduced herself and she has Cleveland area connections herself. Easily one of our best meals we’ve ever had in Myrtle Beach,...

Wow, what a place! First time here but definitely not our last! Definitely a dive bar that you need to visit next time you're in town. Restaurant was very clean and well decorated for a sports bar. We chose the wings and pizza and of course cold beer. One of the owners was in the dining room helping the wait staff,he told me that everything was sourced locally. The wings had zero bone bleed which means they were never frozen. The medium sauce was just the right amount of heat for us. He did tell us about the other sauces and next time I'll definitely try the barrel blend that was created in house. Some of the best wings I've had in a long time. The pizza was delicious also, we chose the meat lovers with ranch dip, couldn't have been better. Can't leave out the Bud heavy, a must for wings and pizza. Wait staff was very friendly and prompt, sadly I didn't get her name but she was a very good server! If I was a local, I'd be here all the time!!!

I am always on the hunt for a food dive bar. This place did not disappoint. Stopped by for the first time yesterday (Thursday) for happy hour. The place was packed and it was only 4:30! The bartender (Angie) immediately asked me what I wanted to drink. I appreciated not having to wait considering the crowd she had to attend to. There was a lounge singer and she was actually pretty good! After finding a seat at the end of the bar the owner (Judy) came over and introduced herself. She also introduced me to her sons who work behind the scenes (Chad and Doane.) Chad is the cook and his food is fantastic! I had the wings, cooked perfectly..and a pizza to go. By far the best "dive bar" food I've ever had! Great service! Friendly! Everyone was so welcoming! Can't wait to go back. I'm telling all my friends. You all rock!

Dive bar with a lot of regulars like Cheers. We ordered BLT wrap, Burger and Fried Pickles. The Wrap was great. The burger was big with lettuce, tomato and onion and a nice bun . The burger was seasoned with salt but too much salt. The pickle chips were a big surprise, the order was huge, probably 3x the size of an order elsewhere... they were greasy and salty but pretty good. Also ordered a Yuengling on tap and it was ice cold and poured correctly... Happy hour has beer and appetizer specials but limited to 1 discounted appetizer choice if I understood correctly... Our waitress was friendly, and ran that bar all by herself no problem... Taking care of the bar patrons and the diners. So we did like the place and will definitely return again.
