I was really excited to try this restaurant because I saw all the reviews and the videos on TikTok about this restaurant and seeing how packed the parking lot was, I thought this will be a great dinner. Sadly I was mistaken. When we first walked into the restaurant it was packed which wasn’t a problem because that must mean the food is really good. We waited for the hostess who seemed to be busy sitting people at their tables. I knew that she at least saw us waiting to be seated and never asked were we waiting for a table until I walked to the front again to tell her we needed to be seated. Once we were seated, it took awhile for our waiter to come but it was his first day so I can’t completely fault him for this terrible experience. We watched tables get fresh bread and we even had to ask another waitress why we never received any bread. She explained it came out after the appetizers and salad but even after that we still never received any bread until we asked the waiter if we were suppose to get bread. It did take us awhile to order our food just because we didn’t know what we wanted to eat. While we were waiting for our food you could tell the restaurant was having issues because the waiters kept dropping glasses and plates coming out of the kitchen and there was broken glass everywhere. We finally got our appetizers, we ordered wings and potatoes skins. I didn’t like the wings they had a weird taste to them but as I’m eating you can see most of the waiters and I guess he was the owner, standing at bar staring us down as we were eating and that made me feel really uncomfortable because why are you just staring at our table, as if we were being watched. The waiter must have saw my face because he immediately walked over and asked was there any issues. I don’t really like to cause problems at restaurants so I dismissed it at first and continued eating our entrees came out next and that’s when I got pissed. When I noticed everyone else’s food, everyone’s food looked amazing, but when our food came out it look like they didn’t even put care into making the food like it was rushed and they gave my husband a small and wilted sweet potato. I ordered a sirloin that looked like so much smaller than what I seen. Everything else was okay but I was already pissed so I just asked the waiter for a to go box because i was done eating but I still wanted to order one more drink before we left at least that would make this experience a little better. Mind you this whole time the owner and other waiters were still standing at the bar across from us staring us down the whole time. Even while we were ordering the owner came over and started sweeping randomly. And it was weird because there was nothing on the floor to sweep. So me noticing all this is just making me feel even more uncomfortable and upset because nobody else in the restaurant is being watched like this. So I asked for to go box’s but I didn’t ask for the check yet because I still wanted one more drink before we left. I’d already ordered my drink but here comes the owner rushing over to bring the check, in a very condescending manner he says oh I thought you guys asked for the check take a look and make sure everything is okay. One, he wasn’t even our waiter so why would he even think we’d asked for the check. Two, I know they thought we were probably trying to run out on the check that’s why we were being watched and why the owner came over to randomly sweep while we were ordering. Baby trust me I don’t need to run out on no bill. I’m more pissed I spent over $200 in this restaurant when there are plenty of better restaurants in the area with way better customer service and my family and I would have had a better dinner then we had at this restaurant. But instead of really going off I paid the bill because they were already thinking we couldn’t afford the meal. For a restaurant to charge as much as they charge and from all the reviews you would think you could get better customer service and better food than what we...
Read moreI am so sorry I tried so hard to like it but it was just too much. I came here with my family for my brothers birthday, pulling into the parking lot I already knew we were in for a ride. The place is directly beside a putt putt which is special… When first walking into the building you are greeted with the stench of marijuana and cigarettes which really sets the expectations for the dinner you’re about to have. The hostess promptly asked us if we were here because of a coupon and i immediately understood why anyone would want to come here. Walking to our seats we were surrounded by walls covered in various taxidermy animals. The decor was interesting to say the least. We were seated in an awkward room overlooking the main dining area which was full of shirtless bikers and screaming children. Our waiter seemed like he was new but he was very nice. We ordered waters and the breaded asparagus which were pretty good I can’t lie. Our salads came out luke warm but they were a good size and I liked mine. My brother and I ordered a steak and my mom got the salmon. This is where things took a turn for the worst. When the food comes out our waiter promptly requests that we cut into the steak and make sure it’s cooked how we requested. They must have issues with this frequently. Mine looked alright. It wasn’t until I had to scavenge through my meat searching for a small sliver that did not have a piece of fat. I cut out what I thought was the leanest bite and somehow it was still gummy and chewy. These things gross me out so I apologized for my dislike and sent it back. Not even a minute later I can hear my waiter and his coworkers TALKING ABOUT ME!! Mind you! I’m sitting not even 10 feet away. It’s giving Applebees. The one girl is going on about how she’s not taking it off because a ribeye is a fatty piece of steak and you think I don’t know this?? I was expecting fat but not all fat. My moms salmon was extremely salty and she didn’t even touch her veggies. It was just obviously very cheap, low quality meat. I’m sure people dislike the food often no need to gossip about me. We get the bill and low and behold they took the steak off but God knows they had to charge me 5.99 for the sweet potato because it was the one thing on the plate I did eat. I still tipped the waiter over 20% because it wasn’t his fault but I do feel the employees at this establishment should learn how to respect people. I understand the people who come to the restaurant are most likely never respectable people but geez. My favorite part was when we couldn’t find the door to exit so a lovely biker man held the door open. When we walked out we were greeted by a celebrity! A homeless drug addict that apparently played for the Steelers. We got out of there before the strip show commenced. Thank you angus steak house for this experience I will...
Read moreI'm normally lean towards giving good reviews. I understand that things happen, and perfection doesn't exist. Unfortunately, this location was lacking pretty bad, especially since it advertises as a steak house (which are known for great customer service). We made our order and my side was mac-n-cheese.....
When my steak came out I was told they were out. Not before it came out...when it did. I've never seen this scenario before; ever. I couldn't even comprehend that they bought my food out with no side at all. Why not tell me so I could choose a new one and get both at the same time. To make matters more disappointing, I was told "all the mac-n-cheese is still FROZEN". Hold on now, this is a steak house, $30 steak (in SC, not DC, so this wasn't cheap). Who sells pre-made, frozen pans at a STEAK HOUSE??? I then switched to broccoli...the server brought it out in about 5 seconds, and she clearly didn't know what my choice would be: it was either a switched order, or came out of a warming pan (it wasn't soggy, but it definitely tasted like it latter...0 seasoning): again, this STEAK HOUSE. As far as the steak, if you close your eyes, it 100% tasted like golden corral, which isn't horrible, but not a steak house. If I wanted GC, I would have ate there for less, and been able to have that steak, fried fish, fried everything, pizza, egg rolls, ice cream, etc. It tasted exactly like a bag of steaks that say "contains an 18% solution" or the ones that they sell out the back of refrigerator trucks in the mall parking lot: 5 for $20 lol. Not horrible, but definitely not a steak house steak.
As for the salad (entree, not side-salad): it was just a cheap block of lettuce...the kind you use at home to put on a burger using great value bread. If you look at the picture, the literally cut off 1/4 of an onion and just plopped it on. I wish I would have brought my chopping board and a sharp knife. Literally no way you could handle it unless you asked for a separate plate to chop it up (aka it was not going to get used in their cheap salad...it was for looks at this point).
Now for our appetizer! Cheese fries: I think they were baked...I KNOW they weren't cut in house. I'd bet the almost $100 I spent on this meal. Again, great value comes to mind. The bacon bits should have been advertised as bacon dust. Side note: buy the real ones from Sam's club. Not expensive, but identifiable as real bacon. These reminded my of Highschool, but at least they didn't use cheese sauce, so I'll give them that!
As for the service, it's a bunch of teens. They were doing their best, and I can appreciate that. A couple adults around to show them the ropes would be nice. Maybe to teach them to never bring out a steak with no sides...to check first lol. Yeah, that would have...
