Room 904 was our spot for a early September weekend getaway Check In was a breeze and Caleb was very professional and informative at check in. This is a dog friendly spot and solely the reason we picked it to take our fur baby with us on a trip. The room is a double queen corner room with an oceanfront balcony. The kitchen had everything you could ask for to cook for yourself or store snacks and drinks for a short trip. Beds were cozy, TV had plenty of options for your down time, wifi was fast and was always available. The shower was an easy step in with hotel supplied shampoo/conditioner and body wash. The view was amazing and the room was crisp, clean and comfortable. 1st Floor- Free breakfast with an awesome view! Cereal, waffles, fruit, yogurt, bagels, eggs juices an much more. 2nd floor- Driftwood Bar and Grill with excellent staff! There is also a gym on this floor. "P" floor- outside pools were clean, splash area for kids and plenty of lounge chairs in the sun and shade. This is the ground floor under the building with beach access and a "Sandbar" food and drink truck. We did order hot dogs, chicken fingers and sodas and they were good. The beach access is a short walk and in season you can rent chairs and umbrellas. Dog friendliness? I give 5 paws 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Staff was so kind to our dog and no one, even guests, seemed to mind the dogs in the hotel. The dog walk is behind the hotel with plenty of grass and a trash can for the "poo bags". You can rinse the sand and salt off your fur baby with an outside shower spot beside the dog walk area too. A room hang tag for your door is given so staff knows there is a pet in your room before going in. The only negatives for our trip was that there is no hot tub and the pool that can be heated was not. The night breeze was a little cool and having a warm pool since there is no hot tub would have been nice. All and all it is a fantastic hotel, dog friendly in a great location and we will definitely return for another stay. If this review was helpful please give a thumbs up 👍 Save Travels!

To start we live just a few mins up the road, this is our stay-cation with our 4 kids. Our visit checking in was smooth and the front desk girls were realy kind and helpful. There are 3 elevators so the wait is not long at all. The rooms are clean and it's a quiet easy stay. Now for the bad. I would Not recommend this hotel to anyone with younger kids. This had been the most stressful and nerve racking room stay. The floors are all lanolium makingnthem really slippery which is normally ok, however the bathroom is tile and we were not provided with a bath mat. 2 of my youngest have fallen so hard we are heading to the doctor and I'm very upset. We were given 3 towels for a 6 person stay, and we had nothing to put on the floor so we used a beach towel to try and block the wet floor...the wet floor caused by the shower that has very clearly done this for a while as the door is molding and breaking away at the base. This should have been addressed or atleast making sure 2 bath floor towels are provided. Our 2 top stove we went to make lunch on, was also not working. We are here for a week and im not looking forward to the rest of the stay. However they do have a wonderful breakfast buffet and the staff working it are amazing and made our morning worth every bit of stress we were about to face. They have a new towel policy that is giving me so much anxiety, they hand you 1 card for each guest and if you leave it in your room or loose it, they charge you 15 dollars each.... Bring your own towels. The pool section, while it's covered, it's still "outside". The splash pad wasn't on in the hours listed, and there is no hot tub. The pools were too cold for me to enjoy. Over all really upset over the experience as we really book for a nice room and hot tub/pool experience. It's ok for a buisness trip, not for a family trip. I'll attach pictures of the bathroom door and the inability to keep water from coming out.

I had several issues with the room. I had reserved the room from Feb 5, 2021 - Feb 8, 2021. I had called the previous day of my check in on Feb 4, 2021 to ensure the room would be assigned and no one else enters the room. I was assured of this over the phone. This is why I had paid an extra $152.16 for a day. I had also checked on the occupancy which was about 45% as told to me. I had requested also higher floor. But upon checking in, I was told the front desk lady told me they do not assign the room in advance and would only assign the room when the “guests physically check in”. Essentially, I paid $152.16 for a night for nothing. In addition, I was only provided a room on the 5th floor and was told that was the “only room available”. Can you imagine a hotel with 19 floors with an occupancy of 45% has only 1 room available at this time during this off season and the pandemic? Hard to believe. In addition, the front desk lady was not even wearing a mask over the nose. I let this go since I didn’t want to spoil my vacation. But upon checking my room, I found there were smoking marks on the walls of the balcony and on the table. It was clearly not cleaned. At this point I didn’t even know if my room was cleaned properly. I complained to the front desk and they apologized but they did not even bother to ask if I wanted to change my room. What am I supposed to do with an apology when you did nothing to resolve the my issue. After a discussion, all they offered was waiving off the amenity fee for 1 night. Cleaning and social distancing was the least found during my entire stay. There were multiple guests not wearing masks and even entering the elevator without mask. Given the pandemic, this is my worst experience staying in a “Marriott” hotel.

Stayed at this property Thursday - Monday. First, I will start off with the positives. Location is great, on the southern end of the strip near the airport. So, the area is quiet which I liked. Don’t listen to anyone saying it’s a bad neighborhood. We walked to two restaurants nearby and didn’t feel unsafe. There are some nice homes around there!||Property is a newer one. We had an oceanfront studio room and we had our dogs with us. Room was a great size with a large balcony, kitchenette with a full sized fridge. Bathroom was large with a walk-in shower stall. We were on the 6th floor but the way the building is designed, it felt a lot higher than the 6th floor. Great view of the ocean. Bed was comfortable.||All the staff we encountered were very nice. Pool area was very nice with a two-tiered pool. Pool is also partially covered so it stays in the shade. There was also a small splash area for kids.||Very large grassy area to walk your dogs. Gas fire pits you can turn on yourself (timer) to enjoy a drink or have a conversation. Free daily hot breakfast. Complimentary Beach towels for guests (they give you a claim card for a towel) they will hold your claim card until you turn in the used towel. Either you can get a fresh towel or get your claim card back. I actually liked this idea because it almost guarantees you a towel! ||The lobby, outside common and pool areas were always kept very clean. ||Literally you’re just steps to the beach. My favorite part! ||Now, for the items that need to be mentioned for guests and feedback to the property in general…the parking garage is VERY tight. So please be very careful driving in it. If you have a very large vehicle, the garage may not be able to accommodate that, so you may want to call ahead about an alternative parking arrangement. I have an Infiniti QX60, and it was a tight fit for an SUV of that size. I would say anything larger, may be a problem. This isn’t the hotels fault. Clearly, they built the garage to accommodate as much as possible with the limited amount of space they had (property is rather narrow). ||The interior hallway carpet has seen its better days. Definitely time to replace it. But the 4 nights I was there I didn’t see anyone vacuum the hallway. Just doing that would go a long way. Yes, there’s sand everywhere and that’s to be expected. But the hallways just generally looked a little neglected. ||Cleanliness of the room was good upon first inspection. But as time went on you start to notice little things. With that being said, you need to remember oceanfront hotels really take a beating. So definitely allow a little grace. But the bathroom shower stall looks like it hasn’t been “deep cleaned” in a while; there were some pink and black mold spots wherever there was caulk. That can easily be remedied with spraying some bleach from time to time. ||The pool deck is small. Not many places to layout in the sun if that’s what you’re wanting. It wouldn’t hurt if they expanded the pool deck into the pet area a little bit and they can put more lounge chairs. Just a suggestion.||The shower stall only has a partial shower door. So when you shower, water gets all over the place. Whoever came up with this idea didn’t think it through. They need to put up actual shower doors. This will protect their bathroom from water damage in the long run. Also, the lighting over the bathroom sink is horrible. They have the trendy framed light up vanity mirror but an overhead light over the mirror is desperately needed. ||For families looking for tons of things to do on property for kids…there isn’t much for them here so you may want to consider a different place.||With all of this being said, overall, this property is great and I would recommend to anyone I know going to MB (especially with pets) to book this property. Noise was never an issue either. I definitely plan on returning the next time I go to MB (especially if I have my dogs with me).||Thank you Residence Inn for providing my family a good place to stay for a much needed and...

Where to start… this hotel is the worst we experienced during our three visits to Myrtle Beach. We have stayed at other hotel chains like Hilton and Sheraton and have never encountered such a poor experience. We opted for an "expensive, highly overrated hotel" in hopes of enjoying our summer vacation. The cost for two weeks was equivalent to a 4 or 5-star hotel, yet we received a motel experience. We were misled by the ratings and reviews from others, which do not accurately represent the reality of this hotel.

Upon our arrival in the room, I noticed it was not thoroughly cleaned, so I took it upon myself to wipe everything down with disinfecting wipes. The receptionist informed us that the room would be cleaned and refreshed every 2 to 3 days. However, when the housekeeper arrived, she simply handed me towels and asked for the dirty ones. I politely inquired about cleaning the room, and she responded with an attitude, stating that refreshing the room only involved changing towels and that she wouldn’t clean our room until the 7th day of our stay. I was genuinely surprised; a hotel of this size should provide daily housekeeping, and the pandemic excuse for this lack of service should be a thing of the past. On the 7th day, the housekeeper came to change our bed sheets and mop the floor, but she did not clean the bathroom or vacuum the rug. The kitchen area was completely ignored.

The breakfast buffet is another problem. The scrambled eggs are excessively watery, and the overall quality of the food is quite poor and not fresh at all. Additionally, it is very crowded, requiring you to wait in line to get your food. Eventually, we decided to give up and began going out for breakfast.

Both pools are nice, but there are times when they are not cleaned, and you may find dead bugs in them.

Despite everything, I kept my cool until one morning when I found a cockroach in the bathroom. I mentioned it to my husband, who then revealed that he had also encountered a large one by the balcony door. He approached the front desk, and the staff member informed him that it wasn't a cockroach but rather a common insect in the area. I was convinced it was indeed a cockroach, and I couldn't shake that thought. After stepping outside and returning, we found another one on the kitchen ceiling( I took a picture of it). At that moment, I was certain the room was infested with cockroaches, and I refused to stay there for another second, especially with a baby crawling around. Eventually, they offered us a different room by 10 PM, but the hassle of moving all our luggage and belongings with the kids was incredibly overwhelming and tiring.

This was my first experience with Marriott, and it will certainly be my last, as I can tolerate many things but not a pest infestation. It was a huge disappointment and a disgusting experience… Please save your money and choose a more worthwhile...
