Woodhaven Pancake House — Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

review from a local, used to eat here atleast 2x a week This place used to be amazing. USED to. They are slipping HARD now. Went there today, 6/18/17 (fathers day) not one person said happy fathers day to me, KNOWING im a father, we bring the baby there all the time. but thats neither here nor there. I ordered the big breakfast, bacon, eggs, 3 pancakes, grits. I order this all the time (im a regular, go there ATLEAST 2x a week) well today i received a LUMP of grits on my plate... if you looked at it in the kitchen before you put it out you would have NOT served this. I mean it was a HUGE DRY lump of grits. So i told the waitress, and she replated my meal and bought me a bowl of fresh grits. Great. Then I went to cut into my pancakes (pancakes were the main reason to go to woodhaven) they were HARD AS A ROCK. So I got a little annoyed at this, and it wasnt the first time that the food has been off in the past 6-8 months, ive received hard pancakes under cooked bacon and lumpy grits many times before this but today was the last straw I voice my displeasure to the waitress and she started to give me a rotten face and tell me to watch my language. Now granted, I could have chosen my words a little better. But the waitress rolled her eyes at me and ran into the kitchen. I got up and walked to the front and spoke to the white haired elder lady and asked her to speak to the owner. She told me that she was Not going to get him. She said i could speak to her. WHAT A JOKE!!! she then proceeded to tel me not to come back, and how many times have i been there... how many times ive been there my food should have been prepared properly!!! We usually eat here each time we visit MB. This year was HORRIBLE! For starters the hostess was RUDE when our family asked for a booth- we were told they are for large parties only and we would have to wait 5-10 MORE MINUTES if we wanted a booth- mind you we walked past 4 OPEN booths on the way to the table she forced us to take. Next, The waitress- whos name I wont post- was RUDE and unattentive. I had to ask for more drink- twice. The food was SLOW, the waitress never checked in on us to give an update or keep drinks filled. We watched a party larger than ours, that came in AFTER US ( we were a party of 3) get their food before us. The food when it finally came was subpar. The apples on top of my pancakes were COLD. Again, we were never checked in on again once the food came. When we asked for a box- long wait again. When she finally did bring the ONE box we asked for I asked for a togo cup and the look the waitress gave me was so disrespectful- if my 10 year old had not been with me I would have given her a piece of my mind. She did bring it and didnt even give us a final thank you or have a great weekend. Needless to say I dont plan to ever go back! Highly disappointed is our service and food. While patiently waiting for our food, our waitress came over to let us know all our food was done but our pancakes. I asked her if she could bring the food out since we've got 3 younger children who were getting antsy. When bringing the food out she said the pancakes just got done and placed everything on the table. As we started eating our food, everything on the plates were cold. The over hard eggs were difficult to cut, the potatoes were cold, the bacon was paper thin and cold. On top of it, my pancakes tasted undercooked and seemed like it was saturated in oil. As I brought the issues to our waitress attention, she seemed like she didn't know how to handle the situation and took a deep breath loudly to let us know she was annoyed. Once she composed herself, she went to the kitchen to get another pancake. The pancake tasted the same as my previous pancakes. She never came back to the table to ask if the pancakes tasted any better which made us feel like she was avoiding us.
