Room 509 in the tall building, not the check in building This place is not bad but it is definitely a value condo complex. Do not come here if security is a high priority. None of the doors that we were supposed to need keycards for actually locked any of the times we came through them. I'm thankful for my view on the balcony and the very easy walk out to the beach. Just know early in the morning you will be woken up with slamming doors but I understand they can't control the guests. We were told there was a parking lot but at check-in they told us to use the garage. It is only feasible for smaller SUVs and cars. We did see a truck make it but he was having to make really tight three-point term maneuvers to make the corners. Using the garage was convenient with a Subaru Outback back and we found a spot on the floor with our condo. The pictures online look nice but as with anything you can tell they are edited once you get here. It's definitely a little more dated than the pictures show. There is an ice cream truck that pulls into the parking lot if that interests you. One side of the building has an actual outdoor shower coming off the beach. On the other side, you just have to use a water hose which is still appreciated to get the sand off your feet. Now for our unit itself. We were able to choose our exact unit by renting through Airbnb. If you were driving, bring a box fan because there was no fan in the bedroom and the vent for the bedroom is half the size of the vents in the other rooms and there is no air flow in there. There's a good five or six degree temperature difference. There's nowhere to set your luggage unless you use the desk/vanity. There are a few plugs with USB plugs as well. The kitchen is adequately stocked. There is no cutting board but there does seem to be good knives and plates, utensils, etc. There is no ice maker in the refrigerator freezer so you will have to use the condos ice maker. I have not checked that out yet, but it's on the second floor according to signage. Would I stay here again? No, I like a little bit nicer accommodations but this particular unit got great reviews and I was trying to save money on a rather expensive medical trip. If you are looking for a quality budget condo, this will fit your needs perfectly.

There were bed bugs! I spent a week there (5 days through Booking and another two through the hotel) from April 18th to 25th in room 812. Close to the end of my stay, I started noticing clusters of bites on my stomach, but didn't really think much of it. I changed my flight to stay another night with friends at the resort next door, and someone in their party is a medical professional. When she saw the 3 HUGE clusters of bites on my stomach, she IMMEDIATELY recognized the bites as BED BUG bites. Having just checked out the day before, I woke up bright and early and went to Holiday Sands to find out if there were bugs in the room and what to do to make sure I didn't bring them back home to NYC. When I got to the front desk, I CALMLY explained to the woman that I thought my room had been infested and could they check. She shushed me so no one could hear (which I understood). I explained that I didn't want to embarrass them because I know that these things happen with travelers coming through. The manager, and elderly man named Mike, explained that the room was occupied again and that they couldn't check until the next day. I was returning home that day so I gave him my number, and he ASSURED me that he would call me the next day to update me on his findings. I returned home, and wrapped my suitcase and carryon in garbage bags and taped them as was recommended online, waiting for his call. The next day, I didn't hear from Mike, so in the afternoon I called. They said he was in a meeting and would call me back. He didn't. The next day, I called again, and he was also unavailable. I tried calling 3 days in a row, before giving up. Then I threw away my luggage and washed and dried my expensive DESIGNER clothes on the hottest settings because that was recommended online. Of course they all shrunk! Then I purchased spray and bedbug detection kits on Amazon in case I had brought them home. So far so good after a few months, NO THANKS to the staff at Holiday Sands!

Me and my two kids and my parents stayed here from 05/05-05/10 and let me start by saying NEVER AGAIN. These rooms are FILTHY. The floors in the rooms are absolutely disgusting. They felt like they have not been vacuumed in ages and haven't been shampooed since it was brand new. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. They were just as gross as the floors. The sheets had stains all over them. There was residue from bed buds. There was hair on the bed sheets from previous people. The kithen had dishes that was placed in the cabinets that still was filthy and had food still on them. Half the burners didn't work on the stove. There was a oven but no cookie sheet or baking dish provided. There was absolutely no soap provided to wash dishes. There was also no shampoo left in the bathrooms for showers. The tubs was disgusting. Hair left in it. When we filled the tub and turned the vets on nothing but black stuff came out. Safe to say we only showered. The hairdryer had hair stuck in it. The "doors" that separated the rooms were broke and hard to close. The room smelled like mildew and smoke. It was ungodly. We used a FULL can of febreeze for the whole trip because the smell stayed. The ac that's under the window had black mold in it. We kept the ac on the entire time and it was still muggy and hot in the room. It was IMPOSSIBLE to keep it cool. The thermostat doesn't work. The vents still blow hot air out even when you cut the thermostat down. Staff was no help. Rude with every encounter. They NEVER had blankets or pillows or anything for that matter. They also don't offer late check out. The ONLY good things about this hotel is the view of the ocean and how short the walk is to it. Another good thing is the café downstairs. They are amazing. A must try. They only serve tacos! We were in room 608. We do NOT recommend. Stay clear of this place. Photo of hair dryer and hair in shower.

None of the remotes for the televisions worked and 2 out of 3 tv’s didn’t work at all. Dishes that were here were not clean so I’m thinking the entire place was most likely just looking clean not actually cleaned properly between guests. Was to have an ocean view but we were on the side of the building and basically looked at the next condo unless we hung over the railing. The airport is right behind so you can watch planes cone and go as well as helicopters. There are 2 buildings one even one odd. The odds was the parking garage and my truck got stuck because the garage was to short it ended up denting my luggage case and when I told them they didn’t care so we could only park first floor or outside where there are meters you have to pay to park at, or across the street which what is that!!!?? There was no garbage in the kitchen and it’s a good thing I brought my own bags that I could hang off a knob of one of the cupboards. There was no toaster or blender had to buy our own. Front desk people were not very friendly and for the price I had much higher expectations than what we experienced. Beds are very hard and uncomfortable just not our style. Tile around is chipped in places. Honestly not a full refund but partial would be nice since it was not what we expected and since we had to buy extra things that other places we have stayed have always provided. There is a lazy river, hot tub, and pool in or for each building but it kinda has an Oder. One of the fire detectors kept going off then beeping like was dying but then stopped so it may be messed up who knows. The balcony if rains you can not sit on because you will be soaked there’s no roof to protect you. And there is a cigarette container like they would have outside a building that’s completely full of cigarette butts in the corner of the balcony. If this was our first time ever going somewhere and doing this it might have been great but we are seasoned so it definitely did not meet expectations. It does have a washer/dryer in the unit and a dishwasher, microwave, stove, coffee maker and refrigerator. Each bathroom has a hairdryer. There is a wagon like you’d attach to a tractor that you take your trash down to no dumpster with hand written notes everywhere on what to or not to do with your trash. May be good for business trips but could be better if the intention is family vacation. Another hung when we first got here the power kept going out. I do not know if it was the whole building or just our unit but it did it many times. Off for a few minutes then back on and no it was not storming or anything outside. I’m definitely not satisfied. I don’t know how to add pictures to show anything… I’m very upset about my property damage but don’t feel like trying to talk to service desk is going to get me anywhere. Those luggage roof boxes...

I previously gave Holidays Sands South Condo's a 4 out of 5 but that was 4 years ago on our last stay. As of December 26, 2022 there have been changes and not so good changes. We booked a condo and needed to down size. Tim (at the front desk) was so kind and helpful. Tim informed us of the condition of the parking deck due to busted pipes and freezing temperatures. We walked into our oceanfront condo and my jaw dropped. The refrigerator was rusty, the toilet wouldn't flush, and the room was very outdated and the jacuzzi was broken as well. We went back to the front desk and talked to Tim and he informed us of changes that have been made as far as owners of the condos. We changed our room back however that room was too large for just 3 people and we really wanted a oceanfront room, so yes you guessed it back to the front desk we went. Poor Tim, I asked him if we could get a regular hotel room that is oceanfront and he was very pleasant and said sure. He got my paperwork switched and NEVER complained. Once we got settled in and went to the pool area omg this area needs some serious updates. The ceiling was being worked on and the area where children could play was a disaster. The good thing about the pool area was it was warm and the jacuzzi worked great. Housekeeping did make sure we had enough towels and toilet paper but she NEVER actually cleaned or wiped anything down and tbh it looked as if they had not cleaned the room before we came. The sheets were clean, refrigerator was clean but the bathroom not so clean. I would strongly suggest bringing spray bleach, paper towels, wipes, and lysol like I did. The bathroom will need it. On our last night my son noticed there was blood on the floor and I told my husband whomever had this room before us must've had a struggle.. the top lock on the door was broken off, the bathroom door had tape holding it together, and it looked as if it would fall apart if we shut it all of the way. A LOT has changed since our last stay but I really feel that housekeeping could be better as well as maintenance. I am so glad I never saw roaches or rodents or this would be a different review and i would have been home. If it wasn't for the beautiful view, warm pool, hot jacuzzi, and Tim at the front desk I would've gave Holiday Sands South 1 star. This use to be a great place for vacation but things have changed. To the owners of the condos UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE AND GET MAINTENANCE TO FIX THE POOL AND JACUZZI. I was very disappointed 😞 PLEASE DO BETTER.. I had to come back to add/edit this because a roach was in the bathroom. We were going to book another nit but we have DEFINITELY changed our mind. Add a Bug Man to the list. This...

This was nothing but great service while we stayed. We planned a mini vacation with our children and where we normally stay you can only rent the beach houses for a week at a time and we were only staying 3 nights. When we got to Myrtle around 11 our room was ready thankfully cause we had spent all on the road with babies. When we got into our room ( a queen bed with a bathroom ) we were happy and pleased. The room was very clean and smelled clean as well. We checked the beds as we do anywhere and found nothing. The mattress was extremely clean as well. We were in our room relax when we started smelling weed. Usually weed doesnt bug us, we could careless if someone smokes. We brushed it off since who ever was smoking was on their vacation as well. A few minutes later we couldnt breathe it was like someone was in our room with the doors shut smoking. Mind you we dont care if someone smokes but that was too much and we had our children with us and jobs that drug test. It slowly went away and as soon as they stopped they started smoking again, and again we were ran out of the room. I had to call the front desk cause I am not about to spend my entire vacation like that. I didnt want to get These people in trouble but i wasnt about to be miserable either. I called the front desk and addressed the issue and told them I was so sorry for even complaining. Thats just not who I am and dont like to be. She told me that they were going to handle the situation and theyd move us rooms. I figured that we would get the same room and that was totally fine because we didnt pay much for the room we were in. She said we can stay in the current room til our new room was ready or we can go explore and do our own thing til it was ready. We had no choice but to leave cause it was so overpowering. The entire floor smelled like they had smoked throughout it and we werent the only one who had a complaint. When we got our new room we couldnt believe it. Oceanfront, two beds, a pull out bed a full kitchen and a bathtub with jets. I cried. I didnt expect that at all. The service was amazing. Then we ended up getting locked out of our room and the maintenance man had to climb onto our balcony which wasnt safe at all. These workers are very good to their guest and this is a very clean place. The pool area was great and we didnt know til the last day we could use the pool area next door as well. We loved our stay here. Thanks for the wonderful experience and being so good to us when you...
