Stubbys in Nantucket is hands down one of my favorite spots to grab a quick, delicious bite to eat on the island. Whether you’re just coming off the beach, cruising around town on a bike, or looking for something casual but seriously good, this place totally delivers. It has that classic laid-back island vibe, and the food speaks for itself. First of all, the wings are amazing — perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and loaded with flavor. You can tell they put care into how they’re made, not just tossed in sauce and rushed out. They’re the kind of wings you actually crave the next day. And the sliders? Absolute perfection. They’re small but packed with flavor — ideal for when you want to try a few different things or share with friends or family. Whether it’s classic beef sliders or something a little more unique, everything I’ve tried has been spot-on. Stubbys is also super convenient. It’s not a sit-down place where you have to wait forever — it’s quick, easy, and friendly. The service is always solid, even when they’re busy (which they usually are, because it’s just that good). It’s one of those rare places that manages to be fast and high quality at the same time. It’s also in a great location if you’re walking through town or heading to the ferry. You can grab your food and go, or hang out outside and enjoy the nice weather while you eat. It’s casual and fun, and the kind of spot that just feels right for a Nantucket day. All in all, Stubbys is a must-visit when you’re on the island. Whether you’re looking for something quick, comforting, or just really tasty, you can’t go wrong here. Great wings, great sliders, great vibes — definitely a gem in the...
Read moreIf I were Jamaican I'd be pretty upset about labeling this gentrified, watered down down, neutralized food served there as Jamaican. There was NONE of the robust spicy, rich, carribean flavors that make this type of cuisine so delicious in the plate of food I was served. The rice and beans was flat, dull, and tasteless..the oxtail was dry with no thick velvety gravy from stewing. There was no depth of flavor whatsoever. It was served with no plantains, a staple in the meal. I asked for a side of veggies they gave me a whole cold piece of lettuce and a tomato slice. The festivals were just long pieces of fried tasteless dough with no sauce to help this dismal frituta out. The worst insult in this entire experience was in being charged 20+ dollars for this sad meal. With such a strong Jamaican presence on this island, I was really looking forward to deviating from the lobster rolls and other nantucket eats, and having some authentic Homecooked style well seasoned food. This was definitely a tragic...
Read moreWe grabbed breakfast from Stubby’s three times on our trip. The customer-facing staff was really friendly, and the eggs on a muffin (with a hash brown on it, of course) is something to look forward to.
My husband ordered a four-egg wrap each time (paying extra for more eggs). Only one out of the three times did it clearly have four eggs. The other two times, the wrap was honestly paper thin and he was still very hungry after eating.
One morning, along with breakfast, we grabbed lunch to take to the beach. A tomato mozz caprese and a tuna salad. The tuna was great. The Caprese… I’ll let the photo speak for itself 😅💔. We spent over $50 for two breakfast wraps and a caprese (perfectly fine if it’s the meal it’s supposed to be) but they weren’t even enough for a snack unfortunately.
Overall, the inconsistency was disappointing. Hopefully owners/ manager can take a closer look at consistency and portions. I think that would make the experience...
