We came here yesterday for breakfast, and loved it so much we had to come back again today! Yesterday my boyfriend and I both got the avocado egg sandwich, today he got the American breakfast and I once again got the avocado egg. I substituted the English muffins for a lovely multigrain bread. We split a house-made blueberry muffin (which was so moist and fluffy with a delicious sugar-crusted top). Dave, the owner, was kind enough to give us a complimentary house-made sugar donut which blew our expectations out of the water! One of the hostesses, Fritzy, was very kind and quick to clear our table without being over bearing. Overall, between the staff, the clean and comfortable dining area, and the delicious cuisine, the Gypsea Café has left a very positive impression on my boyfriend and I. We will be sure to include this restaurant in all of our future visits to the island!

Expectation vs Reality check. First things first, this is not a waterfront breakfast place….water is far away, so this was a first disappointment. 2nd we’ve ordered 2 cappuccinos to dine-in and they were horrible, it was 90% of milk and 10% of burned espresso. 3rd American breakfast with over-easy eggs and sausage with home fries. The egg whites weren’t even cooked, so we got a runny egg whites with absolutely dry “sandwich” style sausage that was overcooked with 0 moisture in it. home fries were absolutely disgusting with a first bite being a black molded potato(photos), the taste that i will never forget…. 4th french Toast was just a dry bread with no moisture inside and any type of flavor and 1 strawberry as a garnish … Overall $50 wasted and the biggest disappointment….go to other places for breakfast and...

Visiting Nantucket this weekend and we saw GypSea as a breakfast option. It’s set right on a children’s beach with beautiful harbor views. For breakfast I got the western omelette, with potato medley home fries and the best toast, and my friend got the egg white pesto sandwich on a brioche bun. Both were 10/10. The woman at the register was a peach and Dave was friendly while checking on all of us. We got to try their cranberry orange muffin which was so tasty! Flavorful, moist, with real cranberries and orange chunks - a perfect muffin. I got the unsweetened ice tea and a splash of homemade lemonade. We left satisfied and full bellies for a full day of adventuring on Nantucket! We...
