Worst Hotel Experience Ever – Avoid at All Costs
I recently stayed at the Aiden Hotel for 10 days, and I can confidently say it was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The management and staff are completely incapable, and it’s clear they have no idea how to run a hotel. From start to finish, it was a series of disappointments and frustrations.
First, they required us to confirm every single day if we wanted our room cleaned. We did this daily, and yet, they still missed cleaning our room on multiple occasions. Even when they did clean, they consistently failed to provide the correct number of towels—our room was for four people, but we were always given just two towels. Despite repeatedly reminding them, the issue never improved.
To make matters worse, they neglected basic housekeeping duties—like forgetting to empty our trash bins for two consecutive days. When we approached staff about this, they were indifferent and offered no apology.
The so-called "complimentary breakfast" was another joke. It was available for the first few days of our stay, and then, without any notice, it was suddenly discontinued. We were left scrambling to adjust our plans for the day, only to discover the breakfast they did offer was minimal at best. Guests were forced to queue up for food that was restocked too slowly, making the whole experience frustrating and unpleasant.
What truly made this stay unbearable, however, was the complete lack of accountability from management and staff. Instead of acknowledging or resolving the issues, they simply made excuses and showed no intention of fixing anything. Their rude attitude only added insult to injury, and they never once apologized for the multiple problems we encountered.
In short, I would never stay at the Aiden Hotel again, and I strongly advise others to avoid it at all costs. Don’t make the same mistake we did—this place...
Read moreThis was a last-minute stay after our flight from LGA was delayed overnight. It was the nearest hotel available in the Hilton network. That being said, we were exhausted, frustrated, didn't have our bags, and just wanted to rest. We were only there 10 hours.|Overall, this is a pretty good hotel. The staff were all extremely nice, attentive, and helpful. The hotel itself is VERY clean, as was our room! Grateful for that after a difficult and frustrating day of airline delays and cancellations!|This hotel is in what appears to be a more industrial and rougher-looking area, so I'm not sure how safe I'd feel going out at night here, but that's just a hunch. Not many restaurants or other places nearby that I could find.|The only complaint I'd have is even though we were on the 12th floor, noise from outside was still very prevalent. There was a police car with siren that went by around 4:00am and was so loud it sounded like it was in the room and didn't dissipate for 10 minutes. I usually stay in Manhattan (where we had been all week) and the traffic noise in the hotels where I usually stay isn't as loud.|Only other odd things I observed was the studio suite we got had a TV that faced the couch but couldn't turn toward the bed (90 degree difference), which was a little odd but we were there for such a short time it didn't matter. |Also, the toilet was abnormally close to the toilet paper holder and made it difficult reach. Additionally, the bathroom had a frosted glass in the wall that was right beside the bed, so if I went in the bathroom and turned on the light, my spouse in the bed was bright-lighted as well. Odd design.|This hotel wouldn't be a planned destination for me based on my travel needs, but if I get stuck with an airport delay again, it's not a bad place to stay and I'd...
Read moreDear Management Team,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my stay at your Long Island City property from December 31 to January 1. Despite high expectations for a unique boutique hotel experience, my visit was far from satisfactory. Here are my concerns:
Excessive Noise: While staying on the 12th floor with windows closed, incredibly loud music from a nearby location made it impossible to sleep. This appears to be a recurring issue, yet no preventive measures have been taken.
Unresponsive Staff: At 3 AM, I had to go to the lobby as no one answered the phone. The response I received was dismissive: "There is nothing we can do." Such a lack of ownership is unacceptable in hospitality.
Unprofessional Service: Promises of callbacks were not fulfilled. Being told later that the manager hadn’t been contacted due to busyness only added to the frustration. Guests deserve timely and proactive communication.
Value for Price: At $360 per night, I expected a high standard of service. Instead, I encountered subpar breakfast offerings, indifferent staff, and an overall experience that felt focused on profit rather than guest satisfaction.
This experience leads me to believe that the vision and mission of Aiden by Best Western—to provide a unique and inspiring boutique experience—are merely marketing tools, not principles your team lives by. I am incredibly disappointed and feel that my trust in your brand has been misplaced.
I urge you to address these issues seriously. Hospitality is about guest care, and your current approach falls far short of...
