We were party of 5 then 7. We really were trying to eat light. The server was really good at first, but then we had to keep getting up to ask him for items. - please note that in small letters on the menu 'if party of 5 or more $25 min each. Yep were sharing plates not to be cheap, we're really interested in the desserts more.
The pasta i had was maybe ok not cheap. The nachos seem to be good as almost every table had that and was sharing.
So waiter after we had the food and we're only ordering small desert. He reminds us 25 per person min. My daughter is 15 she wasn't going for the full plate.
I get the reason for doing the 25 per person min for 5. I only wish the hostess and waiter pointed that out until it became this huge public embarrassing event. If we are paying 25 per person well let's order to go. Waiter was upset that we wanted to order the food that would match 25 per person.
So be aware of this 25 per person min of 5 people. They will zap you when you get the bill. Wow. I had a waiters service for 25 years. This place just gets worse. They have great desserts but it seem affordable its not with these tiny portions on these huge plates.
It's got one thing going there really isn't any other local dairy place local. ( hint hint ) this was my 2nd time here in a long time i had similar last time. Either this place gets taken advantage of and forces the 25 min and points that out as you get the bill ( my gut its a forced way to generate revenue ) it was hard to think if the food is good or bad too overwhelmed on what happen. I hope I don't have to go back. The birthday girl ( college age )...
Read moreGood food! Horrible service! Shame on you Liton! We called and reserved a table for 6. When we arrived they gave us a table for 4 and set up 2 additional seats. Our waiter gave us 1 menu and walked away. We had to ask a bus boy for additional menu's. The waiter approached to take our order and kept interupting us to turn to the host and show he that he wanted a specific table. We had to continue repeating ourself until our order was finally taken. The a food arrived quickly, was fresh and good quality. All the food came roughly the same time and took up the whole table. We asked for an additional table to accommodate 6 people not 4 and was barked back NO! We moved people around and managed to have some space. We ate our food and did not see the waiter at all. As we finished eating the waiter asked if we wanted dessert and we asked for the bill. We paid and gave a tip - about 16% - and were preparing to leave. The waiter - Liton - comes back and says for a party of 6 18% tip is mandatory. I inquired if that's the case why not give us a table for 6? Why not inquire about how the food is and if everything is ok. Also if it is mandatory why not automatically apply the tip. He kept on insisting that I correct the check and initial it. I then realized why he kept interrupting us when ordering and insisted on the specific table. It was a party of 7 and wanted his guaranteed tip with no work. No respect for the patrons. Dont waste your...
Read moreMy wife and I just visited this wonderful establishment after having last visited over 15 years ago at their midtown location. It used to be called "My Most Favorite Dessert Company" and it certainly was our favorite back then. Moving out of the city in the late 2000's, we had no idea the place had moved and upon moving back to the NY metro area recently, I was thrilled to discover it had not closed but had moved a few miles north and change the name slightly. Tonight was the first chance we had to visit and it did not disappoint. Service was prompt and performed with a smile by all of the staff. Though it was busy for a Wednesday night the wait was not terribly long for our food. For the appetizer we had the eggplant rolatini which was spectacular and maybe the best I've ever had. The pasta entrees we ordered, fettuccini with salmon and rigatoni with eggplant were absolutely magnificent. We couldn't remember the last time we finished every last drop of pasta on both plates - and the portions were by no means small. Naturally we shared a dessert as well and though we were disappointed that they were out of strawberry shortcake (the waiter said it sells out every day without exception) we did enjoy the white chocolate mousse cake with a dollop of homemade chocolate ice cream. All in all, this place is even better than we remember it all those years ago and no doubt we will be spreading the word and returning...
