I rarely write negative reviews, I always try to look for the positives in everything, and if I have to criticize something, I really hope my criticism is taken as a recommendation for action. The hotel as a whole is quite pleasant. The subway is close, there is air conditioning in the room, there is even an iron and ironing board, cleaning every day. We were renewed soap and shampoo, made the bed, I think they changed towels, but I'm not sure. That's about it. Dead cockroach bodies (there were quite a few, but they were small, it didn't bother us much) and dried stains of unknown origin remained in the bathroom throughout. About cleaning in general, I really don't understand why you have to do it every day if you do it this way. I can make the bed myself, I am not upset by the sight of an unmade bed in the room. When a "do not disturb" sign was hanging on the door, the staff cleaning the neighboring rooms chatted so loudly that they woke me up (I had severe jetlag and was hoping to sleep longer to recover, but it was impossible). I'm sure it's not difficult to fix, if not for these small shortcomings, the impression of the hotel would be extremely positive. I hope all these little things will be taken into consideration and fixed, and the next guests will write only positive reviews.

This hotel was okay but decent. I stayed for 2 nights and there weren’t any major problems. Unfortunately there were some unknown stains in the bath tub which made me uncomfortable but other than that it was a normal hotel, there was a bug in the room too but i guess that was normal considering the location that this hotel was located in. FORTUNATELY the staff was VERY nice and friendly which made the whole experience much better and kind of relieving. The bed was a bit squeaky and there was one outlet that didn’t work and the AC was a bit broken but still worked nicely. The building itself is really small so you can hear people in the hallway bc of the small rooms. NO parking garage so if you take ur car like I did, you have to find street parking WHICH IS FREE! basically you get what you pay for 👍👍

Very good hotel. The building is new. It is located at a street with some hotels, but the neighborhood is kind of hard. However - felt safe pretty much of my stay there, including going back to the room at late nights. 7-10 minutes away from Subway station. The room that I had was very nice, looked new, had some nice amenities and facilities. Also clean - not in the highest standards, but pretty decent. However, the room does not have microwave or coffee maker, a thing made me go to the nearest Dunkin' every morning to buy myself some coffee. They have vending machines (cash only) and microwaves at the basement floor, as the services they offer. Staff was very nice and helpful. They also have luggage storage for no charge if you come before check-in, and check-out while you have late night flight.

We stayed in the hotel 6 nights and since the first morning the door of the room stopped working, always needing someone from the lobby to come and open the door for us, which left us with zero independence to move as we wanted (which is basically the minimum service offered by the hotel) and having to wait up to 1 hour and a half at the reception (in the midnight) until someone could open the door for us. This is not acceptable. We were offered to change rooms but there were never any available/ready to go in, so every morning and evening we ended up asking for room 402 to be opened for us as wasting 4/5 hours of our vacation day was not an option. Every morning the first thing we did was to go to reception to see if there was a room available or if someone would come to fix it and even being in the hotel until 12pm-1pm we could not get a room ready to move in, so we were promised (since we had to leave) that the door would be fixed for the night (so every day!!!!!). Add to this, that on Friday night, at 4am, the door was not opened with any key! Leaving us outside the room without any of our belongings, unable to wash up before bed or even put on other clothes! If we had to catch a flight the next morning we would have missed the plane!! This was enough on the part of the hotel without giving us any solution. That night it turned out that there was a room available (but not before?!) and the next morning the technician did not arrive until 1pm (supposedly, the first day the door did not work they told us that the technician had come but on Saturday they told us that he had not come before and that's why it had not worked - 3 days without working the door and they had not called a technician? ) making us waste time waiting for him and in the end we had to go out WITH THE SAME CLOTHING FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE. On Sunday 03/27 we communicated to the reception that on Monday we wanted to talk to the manager to give us a solution and on Monday at the reception they told us that "the manager does not respond and have no idea when he will come" with textual words, making us again lose the whole morning to try to find a solution and by the manager to know that some guests have 1 week without being able to freely access the room and that on Monday that we requested to come, does not appear is a lack of respect.

We are now trying to contact the hotel by mail and no one is answering or responding.

I have no words for the extremely irresponsible and incapable response of the...

The young lady we encountered at the front desk was very unprofessional and rude from the time we walked in. I don’t want to be “that person” to say something’s racially motivated but she definitely had a problem with me and my friend. She didn’t even acknowledge us when we first walked in we had to say something to her for her to stop eating and get off her phone to check us in. Then she tried to play us and tell us we had no room there. We booked for a day extra because we were coming from out of time and to avoid sitting around for hours waiting to check in we could just get there and check in and we specified this when we messaged them and they said it was okay. We got there and she told us our room was posted as a “no call no show” so I asked why we didn’t get a email saying so she said because “they didn’t have to.” Then proceeded to tell us that they then put our room back online as available and they were completely booked and had no rooms for us i again asked why we weren’t told our room was canceled and she told us it wasn’t canceled even tho our room was posted as available online. She was yelling and screaming at us and blaming us for everything that happened until we literally had to call the personal we originally talked to and prove her wrong. She was laughing at the situation as she was being rude to us AND was on the phone with her friend the entire time. There was no management there as well so we had nobody to help resolve the issue but ourselves. But when people of other races walked in she was super polite to them and quick to help them as they walked in. We were extremely disrespected the entire time. Also the showers had NO hot water at all I had to stand at the sink and use the hot water. Really disappointed about the entire incident and stay. I do not...

I’m writing this as I lay in a very comfortable bed and pillow on my last night before an early checkout. I may not get much sleep but I know I’ll be fine because I know I can get unlimited coffee at any time downstairs and I can get breakfast at one of the multiple delis (nyc cornershops) that are on the way of the short walk to the subway. The best part is I’ll be walking by other hotels, knowing I spent less money than the people staying there but having essentially the same experience.

I must say I will miss New York, not the hotel but only because I wasn’t here much time but whenever I was, everything was very comfortable.

Touching on some points I see commonly mentioned on the reviews for the hotel: 1. I didn’t talk much with the staff (I think that’s good because everything went according to plan) so I cannot rate their friendliness but they were always helpful 2. There do need to be some hangers or hooks or something somewhere, at least for towels 3. Housekeeping NEEDS to do a bit more. They don’t clean much actually, just do your bed & change towels but that’s the main issue, towels aren’t that clean at all. I found a couple black hairs (no one in my family has black hair) on my towels.

I rate this hotel & will probably stay here again whenever I’m back as a tourist in NYC. It hasn’t got any luxury extras but, being real, no one comes to New York...
