First and foremost, I have to comment on the staff. If it were not for the professionalism, inviting nature and overall kindness of the staff, I would rate differently. I can not express enough how grateful I am of them. My stay was 12 nights. I traveled from Seattle to NYC for surgery. I had 5 day hospital stay and after my return to the hotel I was needing crutches to walk. The staff was very attentive and always willing to go out of their way to assist with any and all of my needs. From opening the main entrance door to rushing to the elevator to push buttons for me. They were always willing to arrange other services for me to make my stay more enjoyable. I do have to rate some "issues" with the room, which I hold corporate accountable. I chose the one bedroom suite for my extended stay. I figured use of the full kitchen would be advantageous for saving a little on eating out for every meal and the in-unit washer/dryer was also a great add-on HVAC system - the units are dated and should be replaced. The maintenance person was very informative and helpful on trying to remedy the loud noises it made, but there was only so much he was able to do. It was a whole building problem. Washer/dryer - These were great units made by Bosch. Washer did fine, dryer, not so much. It would take roughly 5 or 6 hours of restarting the dryer to actually dry your clothes Brown water - this was a random occurrence that lasted for about an hour or so. Was coming from every water source. Room landline - Funny issue with this one. The room phones are cordless. There was a mix up with our phone and another room's phone. Maintenance tried to remedy, but we were constantly getting calls meant for another room. Overall experience result, I would stay here again. Customer service rating for me is weighted heavily because of my career field. I hold myself to high standards and even on my worst of days, I never let that affect my responsibilities while on the job. Thank you...

I visit Manhattan at least twice a year for pleasure. Each stay is two weeks, more or less. I have stayed at AKA Times Square for each of my visits for the past 5-6 years. I have always been more than satisfied with my experiences there.||The rooms are fully self-contained apartments. They are clean and spacious and well-appointed. The location is absolutely perfect as far as I'm concerned. It is walking distance to everything in Midtown, and it is, at most, a two block walk to every subway line that runs through Manhattan. That means you are never more than 20-25 minutes from anywhere you might want to be in Manhattan, from The Battery to The Met Cloisters.||The real gem of the place is the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. They are always ready to step up with whatever it takes to make your stay perfect. I have stayed there enough to know that the staff turnover is very low, and the folks on staff really seem to enjoy being there. ||The last thing that I will mention is security, which is understandably a concern for many people. Even though the hotel is located a mere 1/2 block from Times Square, you will feel very safe and secure. There is always a person on duty at the front door and another person on duty at the front desk. The lobby is very small, so anyone entering the building must walk past them both. They know everybody who is a registered guest at any given time. No one who is not a registered guest is going to get past them unless they are being escorted by a registered guest. If you are unnerved by the chaos of Times Square, you will find this to be a...

We had an outstanding 7 night stay in New York in February 2017 and the AKA Times Square (which a friend recommended) was without doubt a contributor to that experience. The staff were fantastic. The location was great and the accommodation (deluxe studio with study) was exceeded our expectations. We prefer staying in apartment style hotels as they better suit our needs. Our rooms were located on the 10th floor facing onto 44th Street and I must say that we immediately felt right at home. The rooms were generous for a studio and the extra study room was a bonus. We had a relative stay with us and were able to put them up very comfortably in the study. The kitchen was great complete with large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave etc. There is a new flagship Wholefoods complex just around the corner opposite Bryant Park we got to dine in as well as out. The king size bed was probably one of the best I have slept on. The bathroom was generous. There were plenty of cupboards and drawers etc to put away our clothes and store our luggage (and shopping!) etc. There was a clothes washing machine and dryer in one of the cupboards - a great convenience. There is a guest lounge on the top floor as well as an outdoor roof deck area and also a small but comprehensive gym which one of my kids used frequently and got a good workout. The location is great and we could get to just about anywhere via the various subway lines that are well located nearby the hotel. The staff are all super friendly and most helpful. I look forward to coming back here again when I next stay...

As far as apartment style long term stay hotels are concerned, AKA Times Square is the model that all others should aspire to. First, the staff is just excellent. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcome. I had so many bags because I am in between apartments and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful just as if I only had one bag instead of 15 bags. The room itself (premium studio) is fabulous. There is a separate den containing a day bed and a closet and a door that closes so you can easily accommodate guests (note: that den needs its own television to make it perfect). The room also has a full kitchen with all the necessary ecoutrements and AND wait for it… a washer and dryer. It really is fabulous. The location is as the name suggests, right in the heart of Times Square with all the positives and negatives that go with such an iconic location. During the holiday season it is super busy and crowded. Be prepared. The continental breakfast in the morning leaves a lot to be desired but that is really my only complaint. If you need to be in New York for more than 5 days I would highly recommend the AKA Times Square. You won’t regret it.

We really liked our stay here! The rooms were really large, especially by NYC standards and very clean. The location couldn't be beat. We easily walked to Times Square, all there is our Broadway shows and excellent restaurants. Our kitchen was equipped as expected and had like new appliances including a dishwasher. We had a one bedroom with a den on the Penthouse 1 floor. The TV in the bedroom was huge and the one in the den was large enough. The staff was very friendly. There was no housekeeping as expected. Our one disappointment was the falsely represented "lounge". The website pictures a woman sitting at a bar with a drink and a waiter. We thought we had a rooftop lounge for relaxing and having a drink after being out and about for the day. There is NO bar or service!! What they call a"lounge" is a space where you can sit and they apparently do serve some sort of food in the morning (not included with our room according to the front desk-we never checked it out).

After many different hotels in NY city this has to be the perfect spot for anyone who wants to explore Manhattan. Super conveniently located next to times square but the hotel itself lies in a pretty quiet spot! The studio was spacious and the bathroom beyond any conventional hotel room. Huge walk in shower and a lot of space to bring your whole bathroom. There was even daylight in the shower! To top it all off the staff was amazing! Some of the nicest “hotel” staff I met so far, you get the feeling of living in a nice doorman apartment rather than some random hotel. Overall dont go to any of those expensive fancy hotels, just go AKA. On a sidenote, the air conditioning in the room was supreme. Very comfortable in late August.
