Just awful. Went for a pre-theatre dinner, we sat for about 10 minutes before anyone approached. The waiter finally showed up not to take drink orders or ask if we had questions, just a what would you like. I asked where the mussels were from and was told Prince Edward Island, which I thought was a good sign. I ordered them and my friend order a chicken crepe. Literally 3 minutes later our food was plopped down — obviously not cooked to order. The mussels were gritty, some hadn’t been debearded, and there wasn’t a bit of flavor in the broth. No herbs, no salt, no nothing. The frites were meh, more McDonalds than frites. My friend’s crepe had chicken, artichokes, and sun-dried tomatoes but no sauce. Bland. We saw our waiter from afar but he didn’t stop by to check on us. When he finally stopped by — after our plates (mine half eaten) had been cleared, he asked how our meal had been. I answered honestly and he was shocked I hadn’t told him during the meal. I told him that I would have had he bothered to stop by our table. He then made the empty gesture of bringing us a free dessert we hadn’t ordered (and not one we would have ordered). To his credit, he did comp 2 glasses of wine, but not real recompense. This was a fun restaurant decades ago but is now a crappy tourist restaurant with indifferent service and bad food....

SCAMMER AND FRAUDULENT. They should replace stars with rotten tomatoes. Dined in for an advance birthday celebration last December 22. It was fun singing the Twelve Days of Christmas in a chaotic turn with no pipe in music to follow. Food was satisfactory until they served the mains. We ordered steak and salmon which was both over cooked. They replaced both with even more blackened meats. I can only imagine how their grills situation were. We also ordered a bottle of wine where our server Carla/Karla spilt (3 glasses) in each of every pour like she does not care, what a very poor wine service. We are already doubted to put a 10$ tip given that their service and food already sucks. BUT VOILA, the lady server came back signaling to refer to suggested tip (18% at least) as if they are exemplary and they deserve more. We do not want any conversation, hence, we left to end the night. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. 2 days later it came out that they charged us for another 10$ tip which we never agreed on. It’s not about the amount, it is your disgusting ways of overcharging guests for tips you are not due. You’re restaurant is giving an extremely bad light about New York. Not only that you gave a poor service (& food), you also performed fraudulent...

Our 4th time at Cafe Un, Deux, Trois, and 3rd time for breakfast. The reason being is that every time we stay in Midtown, around 5th and 6th Ave and mid-40s streets, the place is ideal, in our opinion, and we have tried so many different restaurants in the area looking for a good breakfast. And it is not only that at Cafe Un, Deux, Trois your check is going to be at least 50% cheaper than in any of the hotel located restaurants (meaning serving breakfast) but also because the breakfast menu at Cafe Un, Deux, Trois features so many more options than its competitors. The CRÊPES section alone lists over 5 differents crêpes (strangely enough, most of the French restaurants in Midtown don't have crêpes on their menus; the next door DB Bistro Moderne is only one example). Quiche Lorraine, toasted baguette with jam, Croque Madame and Croque Monsieur are other examples of the restaurant's many choices (i.e. not limited to the ubiquitous eggs Benedict, steel cut oatmeal and French toast). The service is good, the dining area is very spacious, the opening hours are very convenient (on Sundays, Cafe Un, Deux, Trois opens its doors at 8 AM), what else one needs for a satisfying morning grub? Definitely recommended. We will gladly and certainly visit the...

We had a pre-theatre lunch celebrating our granddaughter's birthday. Although we made a reservation, I think they would have eventually seated us anyway. The place is quite large. In the middle of the Broadway theatre district, Cafe Un Deux Trois has been expertly serving French bistro fare for decades. Quiche, steak frites, croque monsieur, and liver and onions all were quite good and served promptly. The creme brulee was excellent with a very thick sugar crackling. The room is cavernous. Despite the large number of people seated at tables, the noise level did not prevent us from conversing. As a popular NYC restaurant the cafe has prices in line with others in the area. We did not have drinks or wine and ordered only one dessert shared by the six of us, and the price was more than $50 a person. The bathrooms are down a flight of stairs. The wine list has some good selections, but as usual the cost will add substantially to your bill.

Before I lived in NYC, my parents and I would come here every time we visited the city and we always loved it. The last time we came, it was about 20 years ago but I always held fond memories of the place. Now, after 15 years of living (and eating) in NYC, I decided to return just to see if it still holds up. And it does!!! The staff are just as lovely with their suit vests, red ties, and welcoming demeanors. And the food is still great with fast service! I love the vintage, traditional French bistro vibe. The high ceilings and airy windows keep it from feeling musty like some older pre-war restaurants. Despite its location, it is not tourist trap quality food. I would say it holds up to a lot of similarly situated traditional French food spots like Minetta, Frenchette, and Balthazar. Not quite at the level of the more modern ones like Le Crocodile or Le Coucou, but def worth a visit if you're in the area for a show or something.
