I took my husband's gold Movado to Timepiece to have it assembled and cleaned. I had gifted this watch to my husband 40 years ago and he dropped it and it laid in pieces under our refrigerator for the last month. Ruben cleaned the pieces, reassembled watch and charged basically nothing! I am giving it to my husband for his birthday next week. Poor watch! Anyway, while waiting for watch I noticed Albert working on jewelry. I had a wedding band that I rarely wore. I asked adult daughter if she would wear it, "No, too showy". My husband had bought me this diamond eternity band after he lost my simple but pretty wedding band at the airport. I asked Albert if he could chop up my ring and make it into earrings that I could gift to loved ones. "Of course", he said and the next day I dropped off my ring. I must admit to a certain amount of anxiety. I handed this ring to a complete stranger and asked him to chop it up. What Have I Done!? A few days later I got the call that the earrings were done. I was so amazed at what Albert had created that I actually cried when I left their shop. There were my 15 sparkling diamonds set in their original platinum! He attached yellow gold posts explaining that white gold doesn't adhere well to platinum. He then dipped the posts in platinum. Albert also set the lone stone in a pendant which I never paid for. Very lovely. I accidently walked by this neighborhood shop where these two gentleman do their craft with such pride and professionalism. Very rare indeed. What to do with my husband? Even Ruben and Albert...

I recently took four watches into Time Piece.
Swiss Army by Tiffany & Co (1992). I wore this watch while backpacking through Asia, the Middle East, Egypt, and Europe for 6 months. It was thoroughly destroyed and hadn't ticked in years. I was sure it would never be wearable again. I also purchased a new band that looks great ($35). I'm wearing again because Ruben is a wizard!
G-Shock (1998). Ruben replaced the battery and tested it in water. It's good to go for the beach this summer!
Mougin & Piquard by Tourneau (2011). M&P is an old Swiss brand that went bankrupt years ago and was resurrected by Tourneau. I got a new battery and had it cleaned, inside and out. It looks great!
Flea Market Watch ($25, 1996). This old timepiece was self-winding and hasn't kept good time in recent years. Ruben tested it and was totally honest with me. He told me that he could rebuild the entire watch for $400, but unless it was an heirloom or had substantial emotional significance, that it really was not worth it. I told him it was a flea market purchase and decided to send it off to meet its maker, so to speak. Ruben agreed!
My total bill to bring three beautiful watches back to life? $100. And they were ready in 24 hours! I have another dozen watches I've collected over the past 30 years and they're all going straight...

Have been meaning to get my watched fixed for a long time, however, could not find the time (no pun intended) nor could not afford to as I’ve been nearly unemployed for a few months prior. Now that I’m working, I finally wanted to get my watched fixed— I looked up the closest watch repair store and found TimePiece.
When I walked in, was greeted by Ruben— stellar gentleman by the way— extremely kind, straight to the point guy, who you could tell really took care in his craft. He told me to give him an hour— this was really convenient as I wanted to wear it for an important occasion I’m having later this week. I came back an hour later, and Ruben was working with a customer— he told me to give 5 minutes as it got really busy after I left. As I was waiting, I noticed that he treated all the customers that came in like family, reassuring customers that he’d have their watches ready in pristine condition. Once he had my watch ready, though the price was initially $45, Ruben insisted in lowering the price for having me wait just a little while. TimePiece takes awesome care of your jewelry, and Ruben and his brother take care of not only what you bring in, but who you are as an individual— they treat you like family, and repair your jewelry not for the sake of working a job, but because they really care. If I ever have a broken piece of jewelry, I know exactly where to go, no...
