La Belle Epoque Vintage Posters & Framing — Attraction in New York

What an amazing place. We stopped in during a recent shopping trip to NYC and fell in love with this shop and the owners. They were just coming back from a show, and were moving hundreds of the most beautiful rare posters I have ever seen back into the shop. They were so kind, they asked what we liked and were interested in seeing, and then proceeded to unroll poster after poster in front of us. Each was gorgeous, authentic, and in excellent shape. The owner's knowledge of each poster, the style, rarity, and artist was astounding, often taking a moment to share a story about it or the genre. She helped us narrow our search to a selection of vintage travel posters that were within our price range, and helped us decide exactly the theme and style that would work for us. We were looking for a place to have lunch after visiting the Museum of Illusion when we were drawn to the window display at La Belle Epoque. When we went inside, we were overwhelmed by the variety and quality of the artwork, particularly the art deco and art nouveau posters. Ilie and Linda were wonderfully helpful and guided us through their collection with a wealth of anecdotes about the artists and periods that we were most interested in. We were treated like old friends and enjoyed our visit to their gallery immensely. And they even sent us to a great lunch venue after we were finished buying two fabulous pochoir prints.
