I've been going to Hollywood 2002 since I moved to NYC in 2011. No one except Yuriy has cut my hair in that time. I've had nothing less than a pleasant experience going to Hollywood 2002 and chatting and joking around with Yuriy and Alex. It's always a blast with these two. Not to mention, Hollywood 2002 is the most fairly priced barbershop in the area.
In eight years of getting cuts with Yuriy, I've never once had a complaint. Yuriy has always done a stellar job cutting my hair and has even done some touch up work on my sideburns free of charge when i came in a few days later and asked to have them made higher. Want to really treat yourself? Then I highly suggest a razor shave with these guys.
All in all, Hollywood 2002 is a place I highly recommend and always...
Read moreFor years, I believed going to a hair stylist was the best way to get a great haircut. I'd always leave having spent, with gratuities, nearly $75. One day, while walking on 14th St., I decided to get my hair done by a conventional barber, and I was thrilled. The price was $20, I'd naturally leave a tip, and for seven years, I've been going to Hollywood 2002, without a single regret. These young men do everything to my liking, and far exceed the self-aggrandizement of the hair stylists at, for example, a place like Gemini. Don't be fooled any longe . Save a fortune, get a far better hair cut, and make a friend with the fellow who expertly cuts your hair. Here's to Hollywood 2002, 14th St, between 7th and 8th. Great is how...
Read moreI've been going here for years. When I moved and the shop was no longer conveniently located for me I got lazy and tried several local barber shops on the upper East Side. TOTAL MISTAKE!! Alex is a master. He listens to what you want, he is a highly skilled and seasoned barber who stays abreast of current hair styles and techniques and, lastly, he never rushes regardless of how busy the shop is. I pay $20 for a haircut and my hair gets tons of compliments from everybody including my friends who pay more than $100 to get their hair cut. The shop does get extremely busy at times and like any true barbershop - no appointments. So, the only con is the occasional long wait. Well worth it if you want a...
