I got a 60 minute Head Spa with conditioning treatment + quick dry here with Yukari and I had a wonderful experience. I will start by saying that many videos/tiktoks online depict Head Spa taking place in a private room or in absolute quiet, and as you may guess, this was not the case in such a small salon-- However, that did little to affect how relaxing and gentle Yukari was with my treatment. I found myself drifting to sleep even with the surrounding noise which mainly consisted of regular conversation between the other clients and their hair dressers. I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who is sensitive to loud spaces, and just in general temper your expectations! At this particular location your Head Spa will not look like at ASMR video, lol.

But I want to stress that I gave 5 stars for a reason! Not only was the actual massage and treatment very gentle and incredibly relaxing, my hair was extremely shiny and soft after just a quick dry. (I do recommend adding on the 15$ blow dry if you are going in the winter like me!) I suffer from frequent headaches and I had instant relief.

The treatment is also much more affordable compared to other spas and salons in the area which charge around 300$... in total, I spent about half of that. I highly recommend this salon!! :)

I scheduled a Japanese straightening. I had a 25 minute conversation with the young lady who was doing my hair and answered all her questions over the phone to be sure we were set to start. A consultation over the phone as she stated! A specific question she asked was - "do I color my hair?" "I do" I replied. She only said - you can't color your hair two weeks before and two weeks prior to the straightening! No problem as this was standard and I have gotten this treatment many times before! I showed up for my appointment - and she saw my hair and said - "you have highlights? - I won't do your hair!" Apparently since I didn't answer specifically enough over the phone to her - she refused to do my hair when I arrived. She took an aggressive stand and all she offered was to speak to her manager! We had such a long conversation over the phone and being that she is the expert - this question should have been asked prior - don't you think? I spent money to go downtown and she was not even apologetic about her mistake. I guess my mistake though - I was calling another Tomoko Hair Salon in the city and accidentally got this place! DO NOT BOOK HERE. These reviews must be from friends and family because the customer service here is horrendous! I was charged a no-show fee for an appointment that was never confirmed! I reached out via phone, e-mail, text (and even received read receipts) several hours before the appointment request. I got no replies yet was charged a $62.50 no-show fee!! I finally got a response 1.5 days later, after I sent in a complaint because I noticed that my appointment was miraculously confirmed (last minute) in a way which didn't send me an e-mail alert, likely so they could charge the no-show fee! It's like they purposely don't confirm or respond so you could be charged a fee and they don't have to perform the service. Anyway, the response text said they may be able to apply the no-show fee to a future appointment BUT when I asked for availabilities, I received no replies at all. It's been a week now. I use the same booking app at other beauty related places. It's not the app that's the issue, it's the terrible...
