For all the reviews about Francesca (the owner) and the way she does business… let this text thread showcase her approach and treatment of spending customers. This is after I had already spent $1100 at her design store on a mirror, side table and coffee table books. I purchased a sofa and they emailed me that if I sell my existing couch in 2 days I can pick up an available one from their local warehouse. I replied within an hour letting them know I’ll be able to sell it, and sold it for a bargain the next morning to make space for my new couch. I was then told they made a mistake and don’t have any available and I will have to wait for their next shipment. I was shocked given the urgency their email created and her husband told me it’s not his problem and that he doesn’t typically work in store and to take up my annoyance with his wife Francesca. Who then called me and her advice was to throw down some pillows on the floor and be patient (lol) or they can give me a loaner chaise that was totally impractical.
I also noticed my credit card had been charged in full (not a pending transaction) and I had not been sent a receipt or tracking number for this 4K purchase. The text thread shows the rest and this was after I kindly requested a refund given that it wasn’t sustainable for us to be couch-less and had guests coming into town, and we wouldn’t otherwise have sold ours with such urgency. See text.
Also, if you’re considering buying their corduroy plunge sofa/sectional - don’t. Contrary to what they say, it’s not from Bali. They told me it was being shipped from Kent, Washington. I found the exact couch off All Modern for nearly half the price. Links below: https://dyphorshop.com/products/cream-corduroy-sofa?_pos=1&_sid=bd4a989c2&_ss=r

So yes, I’ll be taking her advice and sticking to big box stores that don’t completely rip you off, and you should do the same. Wish I read the...
Read moreBuyer beware!! I wish I had come to Yelp to read the reviews. I would have learned a big lesson: that's a common thread regarding a stunning store selling beautiful furniture pieces with abusive, condescending, unprofessional, and rude customer service.
To make a VERY long story short, I was visiting Brooklyn for an event. I walked by Dyphor and was excited about a really unique (very expensive) one-of-a-kind (but can be replicated) coffee table by Francesca's husband in early June 2023. I was told that at the time, Francesca was in Indonesia, the order would take place while she was there, and a follow-up with me would be had in a month.
I called in late August (as no one followed up) and had my first experience speaking with Francesca, who was short, curt, dismissive and told me I must not have ordered anything custom because if I had, I would have known it would take time and to wait until September. My mouth was on the floor being spoken to in that manner. Nevertheless, I waited and called at the end of September and talked to Francesca; again, she was verbally abusive, childish, rude, and unprofessional and handed the phone to the store manager, Henry (who no longer works there), who then proceeded to inform me that a return will be put in place. I can continue, with a few back-and-forth email exchanges. Francesca stated she would figure out how to give me a return to my credit card, which never took place. I contested the charge to my credit card--thankfully piece of mind after dealing with a nightmare of an experience. If you near this store, keep walking; it's not worth your...

My wife and I had a nightmarish experience dealing with this business. In summary:
Francesca, the owner, is unpleasant and unprofessional. She forged my wife's signature on the contract. Dyphor steals design ideas and produces subpar knockoffs in Indonesia. This is not the first time Francesca has scammed people.
A year ago, we bought a mirror from Dyphor, only to discover it was overpriced. The promised quick delivery turned into months of waiting. We also considered their design services, depositing $200 without signing a contract, a major mistake.
Francesca missed our initial consultation and later rushed through it, showing a lack of professionalism. She failed to present a mood board as promised. Despite these red flags, we verbally committed to her services, only for her to charge our card in full without authorization.
Researching the business revealed terrible reviews and a troubling history with her old business in California. Refusing to move forward, we requested a refund for the undelivered mirror. Dyphor's response was unhelpful, and the mirror, when finally received, was filthy.
Upon canceling the design services, Francesca refused to refund the unauthorized payment. A credit card dispute revealed she had forged my wife's signature on the contract, leading to eventual reimbursement.
Months later, sharing our experience with others, we learned of similar supplier-side issues. Dyphor is a nightmare, and the haunting memories persist a year later. Avoid this business...
