ULTIMATE EAST VILLAGE JAPANESE FOOD CRAWL There are so many amazing Japanese restaurants in the East Village so here are just some of our favorites. Stay tuned for the full YouTube coming soon! 🌟 @ippudo for their ramen and buns that opened in NYC in 2008 but has been a staple in Japan for many years 🌟 @rakunyc is easily cracks our top restaurant list in NYC and we may even be udon fans over ramen but you should also try their Japanese fried chicken and donburi bowls (wagyu is stellar) 🌟 @theizakaya_e4 just started offering lunch sandwiches and you can get this stunning pork katsu on toasted milk bread 🌟 @setsugekkany_matcha for a matcha pick me up, this shop is so quaint and like something you’d find in Japan and we heard their matcha affagato is great 🌟 we then went to @andopatisserie for their French pastries with Asian flavors - get the boba custard egg tarts and matcha basque lava cheesecake 🌟 before that we placed a pick up order from @osakananyc and got their $60 box - not the best sushi we’ve ever had but it was fun to add to our crawl 🌟 @sobaya.nyc because we needed soba to round out the day 🌟 finally @spotdessertbar a east village classic that we’ve been going to for years 🌟 and don’t miss @hmartnyc @hmartofficial for some Japanese snacks to bring home! Before you ask…we were with a lot of people (@movemountainsco team filming!), shared food, walked a lot, and took home leftovers :) • • • • #sistersnacking #nyc #foodcrawl #foodtour #nycfood #nycfoodie #newyorkcity #japanesefood #foodporn #ramen #nycramen #udon #soba #japan #japanesefoods #matcha #nycrestaurants #nycrestaurant #eastvillagenyc

This world-renowned ramen restaurant from Japan known for their tonkotsu ramen has two locations in NYC - with locations in Hell’s Kitchen and the East Village, this is a perfect spot for a walk-in. @ippudo is all about the ramen, but don’t skip out on their other dishes like bao buns and sushi rolls 🍜 #ippudo #ramen #ramennoodles #eastvillage #hellskitchen #foodie #nyc #nycfood #nycfoodie #nycrestaurants #nyclife #foodporn #noodles #newyorkcity

And each location still feels authentic @ippudo Even though Ippudo’s founder, Shigemi Kawahara, has close to 200 restaurants around the world, 70 of them being an Ippudo, each location has its story. Ippudo East Village was the first New York location and greatly responsible for the historic ramen uproar in the United States. Spaced Magazine recently visited the latest New York Location on 5th Avenue. “Ippudo 5th Avenue features a classy yet minimalistic interior that provides a well-suited escape for the busy New Yorker. Rather than our traditional tonkotsu broth, this location uses our kasane-aji, or “layered taste,” broth with a rich blend of chicken and pork. Made over three stages of careful preparation, our kasane-aji broth boasts a smooth, milky and silky texture while maintaining the savory flavor of tonkotsu with unmatched depth.” Ippudo will always be a staple in the Spaced Mag team’s heart. Our visit to the 5th Avenue location brought nothing but delight.
