A couple of days ago, I faced off against the Alamo Cube, Astor Place's very own urban challenge. Spoiler alert: it's trickier than it looks! Initially, I met my match with this metallic titan, but thanks to a young local who could give Hercules a run for his money, I learned the ropes. Managed to coax a slight turn out of it, which I consider a triumph of will over metal. Wow the cube here 50 years time flies, now there is a plaza.b4 just a tiny island for the cube. I'm so glad they brought the cube back to Astor Place. There's more of a plaza there now so you can buy coffees and snacks from the kiosks that are there and sit and do some of the best people watching in New York City. There's quite a diverse Crossroads of people traveling from the West Village to the East Village. If your game you can get up and push the cube.
