I’d like to start by saying that this establishment is absolutely beautiful. The ambiance is stunning, though it does give off a bit of a superficial, “you can’t sit with us” vibe.
That said, the service left a lot to be desired.
I visited on Cinco de Mayo with three friends. We were running late, and I appreciated that the staff was understanding about that. Unfortunately, things took a turn once we got upstairs. Our interactions from that point on felt dismissive and rude.
It began with our server. One of my friends asked about a cocktail listed on the menu, wanting to confirm whether it contained alcohol. His response? “Read the menu,” delivered in a condescending tone. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary. To make it worse, the menu gave no indication that cocktails required additional liquor to be added it simply listed them as cocktails, and every other drink in that section included alcohol. We felt like we were being gaslit the entire evening.
He then told us the restaurant didn’t serve frozen margaritas odd, since they were advertised online for Cinco de Mayo and we could literally see other tables enjoying them. When we pointed that out, he snapped, “I work here, so obviously I know what’s on the menu.” He then claimed that our menu was outdated, even though it looked exactly the same as everyone else’s ours just wasn’t laminated.
Feeling frustrated, I spoke with management. They confirmed that frozen margaritas were indeed available. Another waitress overheard and tried to help us, but our server quickly returned and offered a half-hearted apology, saying he hadn’t been made aware of the menu changes. Mind you, the restaurant had only opened at 4PM, so that explanation didn’t make much sense.
Just as we finally started to settle in and enjoy ourselves, a host came over to tell us we had 15 minutes left at our table because of another reservation. She said we could stay if the next party didn’t show up, but otherwise we’d have to leave. It felt unfair, especially since we’d spent so much of our visit dealing with confusion and poor service. The least they could’ve done was extend our time a bit as a courtesy.
Mistakes happen we get that. But the rude attitude, gaslighting, and general disregard for our experience made the whole night feel dismissive and disrespectful. The setting is very nice , but based on how we were treated, I’m not sure I’d return. If you’re looking for aesthetics over hospitality, maybe this place is for you. Otherwise,...
Read moreQuick take-away: No point in making reservations. They won’t honor yours.
How do I know? I was with two groups that wanted to get together there for an hour-ish, but we never got the chance. Because RRB canceled not one but those TWO reservations my groups made well in advance, one for 6 people and one for 7, for this past weekend.
Literally an hour-ish before we were to go over for our 8:00 pm RSVP (early enough to be a quieter time of the night), we received text messages saying our reservations were canceled. No explanations. No apologies. Nothing.
We chalked it up to maybe they got a large group paying for an expensive package. That would make sense. Buuuuut, two people from our group never saw the “hey, our reservations were cancelled so we’re going to this other place” group chat messages. At around 8:30 they reached out and asked where we were. We explained the cancellation and why we thought RRB might have sent it. Turns out, the place wasn’t anywhere close to packed and there weren’t any large groups, and our friends were walk-ins.
This is the SECOND time this has happened with a group I’ve been with (it also happened several weeks prior to this)…so Strike 3, RRB, you’re out. Permanently.
Soooo, I guess it must be common practice for this business to not honor arrangements made with patrons? Seems to be the case with me and my couple dozen friends at this point. Must be nice to have so much traffic that you have a (possible) robot reach out (because none of their staff had the courtesy to call and speak to us) and basically say: Don’t bother showing up.
Hey, I hope the drinks are great, the food is delicious, the staff are friendly and accommodating. It’s at a convenient location. Considering my friends and I dropped a few hundred in an hour at the place we wound up going to, RRB must be happy turning business away to the competition (wonder what Jon Taffer would have to say, lol).
The pics of the place look great. If you’re going to go, just show up—don’t bother with the tedious reservation process. Let me know what you think of the experience, since I and my friends have tried and been turned away...
Read moreThey call it "ready", they meant they're ready to rip you off. I asked for a Moscow Mule, and I got a watered down and barely spiced up cocktail worth 30 bucks, and there was no heat whatsoever in that drink. The seating is all reserved (no seats to sit for walk-in/ non-reserved ppl), and the bar ppl will try to ask you for more drinks, but in an aggressive ish manner, least the water was free if you just ask for water.
The rooftop was alright but it's facing at a scenery of this huge office building three blocks down, as if executives set the rooftop to appreciate their glass building saying, "that's where we are at, we made it".
I'm taking it a notch too far but, for the price of $30... a Moscow Mule, is wild, I can easily get the same for half the price at the bars close by, and in a brass cup, balanced between spice and heat, black stir straws, on the rocks. Not even only that, the guy auto sets the tip with no way of switching it, so I ended up paying 35 for it. Not only that but the servers could've just said that they dont do walk ins for seating and ordering food
Long story short, this rooftop bar doesn't live up to its title, only thing I liked about the place was the music and the guards up front, they were chill, everything else, just simply a money burner
As you enter the rooftop, the elevator and entry way were kinda shady, dark and dimmed (I'd understand at night it would fit the vibe, but def not in the evening or when it's still light out).
But yeah, that's pretty much it, management is chill (except for tht one bar guy who served me the cocktail), but for that value on drinks is unheard of on my list of bars and restaurants, especially when the cocktail was incomplete, I was shocked to say the least, and this was at happy hour so the guy didn't even mention a thing to make sure the customer is getting their moneys worth for the drinks, maybe for the woman customers it's different, but there is kind of a vibe of that sort in...
