Review Update 9 months later: Re-read the review when I went to clean my inbox and saw the management response. Let me respond 9 months later.
Javier, I was not left with a poor impression. That implies I interpreted something incorrectly. Like I misunderstood someone screaming over the counter and embarrassing me was my mistaken idea. No, I was treated badly and paid extra for it because I wasn't ghetto enough to say "oh hell no I am not paying that" and "give me my money back") like I should have. As for extra charges being to keep things running smoothly, plenty of other places (some just across the street from you) do so without up-charging on practically every part of a transaction. Lets just call it what it really is .. greed.
Anyway, its been 9 months since that day. I haven't been back and I will "positively" never go back. Haven't missed a thing (except your response, the poor treatment and the extra cash I would have been spending for nothing special or "delicious").
Only two kind of people post. People that like a place and people that had an issue with a place. I am the second kind.
What's different about my review is that I will not be extreme about it. The food isn't great but it isn't terrible. Definitely not worth more than any other deli type store. So why the 1 star rating? The way they treat people.
Want to pay with a credit card? Extra OK, not the only place doing that nowadays. Minimum amount to charge though is higher than other places (probably illegal but whatever).
Want a plastic bag (not illegal for food)? 25 cents extra! Every other place in the area gives you one without even asking if you want one.
Lunch special comes with a small water (doesn't say which kind or anything). Grab the wrong brand and they will treat you like you were robbing a bank. Yelling out as if you were trying to run out of the place.
No need for me to go there ever again.
At least with this review, you know what to expect if you decide...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTWO terrible experiences. Rude cashier and HAIR in the food.
Bagels are ok. Employees are extremely rude. I ordered a bagel that was right under the sign of "flagel" with veggie cream cheese and avocado. The guy couldn't hear me at first so I repeated and pointed at the bagel. Then I proceeded to the cashier telling her everything that I've ordered. When the guy got my order ready and told her what I got, they were suddenly both looking at me as if I was a thieve. It turned out that it wasn't a "flagel" but some other weird name, THO they put it right under the "flagel" sign. She looked at me in disdain and started questioning me what I ordered, twice. I said "oh sorry I didn't know it was different (bagel)", she replied "VERY different" and taking out her phone doing calculation. I was standing there waiting and feeling humiliated. She finally found out there was 1 dollar and 9 cents difference, I paid the extra, swearing never come back to this place again. If you put something under the name "flagel" by mistake you shouldn't expect every customer to know the damn difference. Like for real? I was treated as if I was trying to lie and get away with that 1 dollar and 9 cents ..?! Btw I didn't even get the correct type of cream cheese I ordered.
Two weeks later Second story: So I swore that I would never went back to this place. My friend however, still went this morning. Look at what we found: a long hair pulling out of the breakfast burrito. It was so F*ing gross. He did get his refund but now he's the second person who will NEVER go back to this business. What a BIG...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSitting in pio bagel right now with the most expensive bagel and cream cheese I ever had. Now I dont mind spending money on my food. I actually contemplated the lox bagel which is $10.99 I get that price. Dissapointed that I did not make that choice. It seems all bagels no matter the flavor are one price and then depending on the cream cheese with the most expensive being lox spread. Therefore the most expensive bagel with just flavored cream cheese is a lox spread on any flavor bagel for $4.25 So I'm choosing my bagel and I notice a bagel with some cheese and stuff baked on top which looked good. I ask the guy what kind was that? He said the pio bagel. I said ok cool I'll try that. I get to register and they charge me $3.75 for a bagel and cream cheese and then apparently I have the only other bagel that has an additional charge of $2.00 making that a $5.75 bagel. Which in my opinion is outrageous. All the breakfast sandwiches are less and luncheon meat sandwiches are no more than a $1.25 cents more. Now we have choices had those prices been advertised I may have made a different choice. But that additional price for that bagel is no where to be found. $8.01 for a small tea and bagel and cream cheese is...
