stopped by Yohevet Coffee Shop after my court appearance — just a few minutes’ walk from the Supreme Court on Adams Street — and it turned out to be one of the best experiences I’ve had in Downtown Brooklyn. I’ve known Alex for many years — he’s a true specialist and one of the most respected flower experts in Brooklyn, known for his beautiful floral arrangements and friendly personality. He’s also one of my best friends, and now he’s brought that same passion and warmth into his new venture — Yohevet Coffee Shop. The atmosphere here is cozy, family-oriented, and welcoming. Alex and his son Avraham make everyone feel at home, always ready with a smile, good conversation, and a touch of wisdom. The coffee is exceptional — organic, straight from Ethiopia, and even certified kosher for Passover. I drink coffee every day, and this one truly stands out — smooth, rich, and full of flavor. You can also buy their coffee beans to take home and enjoy. They serve a full menu too — salads, bagels, cakes, pastries, and more — perfect for breakfast or lunch. And with the flower shop right there, it’s a place full of beauty, good energy, and great people. Highly recommended — a must-visit spot in Brooklyn for amazing coffee, delicious food, and heartfelt hospitality.

Nice place, and even nicer owner: Alexander treated me to a sample of new exotic coffee variety he just received, and refilled the cup when I finished it. He added a piece of marble cake to my order, and we had a great conversation about coffee, Brooklyn, and life. I came from Staten Island to downtown Brooklyn, and happy to share this gem: the bagels are fresh and tasty, the preparation is quick and attentive, ingredients are plentiful, and the overall feel is as close to your home-made meal made by someone who cares as it can get. And: the prices are fair. The place is somewhat tricky to find, because it’s tucked behind scaffolding (the bane of NYC), but once you find it, you’ll go back. 100% recommended.

I notice the sign for an 100% Ethiopian coffee outside everytime I pass by and decided to try out their espresso drink before purchasing the beans. Big mistake, I am not sure if this is an issue with the person making the drink but the drink had zero taste, even milk has a taste. Drink tasted like watered down nothing literally, I am unsure if they even used milk, I ordered a small ice latte and it was terrible I had to throw it out. Definitely a wrong foot to stay my morning.

Although Alexander is very very nice, he is too insistent that we give him a good review. He probably has a good product, but the ice latte I ordered and he made with coldbrew coffee (and not espresso) was not good, a pity, it was not worth the more than 7$ I paid for it. After recording a video, he very kindly gave us some pastries that were not for sale, they were a bit dry, but thanks anyway. If your product is good, and you work it well, it is not necessary to insist on good reviews as they will give them to you without you asking for them. I wish him luck because he seems...
