Celebrated my son’s birthday at the Brooklyn Escape Room at Industry City with a private Nerf Battle and everyone had so much fun. The venue supplied every type of nerf equipment imaginable, set up tables and chairs for our use, and had a host bravely lead 2 hours of various nerf games. The only times the kids stopped were to switch their nerf guns (they wanted to try them all!), rehydrate, and eat. Planning the party was quick and simple - just speak to Gina and she’ll guide you on how to reserve your spot on their website. With so many transportation options (1.5 blocks from the 36th Street subway station, B37 bus stop a block away, AND right off the BQE) all the guests were able to make it to the party easily. This was one of the most stress free parties I’ve had for my kids. In addition to the Nerf Battle room, they offer themed escape rooms. My kids did the dungeon escape with friends over the summer and found it challenging yet fun. Highly recommend Brooklyn Escape Room for affordable parties and group outings.

I wish I would talk about the escape room and the great experience but We been in front of locked doors for 30min at rain because the front desk lady fell asleep. We knocked, ringed & bumped and thought something bad happend - No way someone would sleep that deep at work right? Glady people came out of the room to wake her up and told us we should leave and and they got stuck in this room for 1 hour. They said she was on drugs and forgot them in the room. Honestly I would not rate that at all and like say - she had a rough day. But when we went away she called us and didnt want to refund us at first and you could clearly hear that she was about to find excuses and thats the worst part for me. Lying to customers when you did something wrong.. uff . Please Brooklyn Escape Room make sure you get better service..

We did Shelter R (Former Vault 13) and it was really fun, lots of different puzzles from the usual ER. I def recommend this room and its totally fine with 2 somewhat experienced players. I took off one star because I felt the intro could be much better. We didnt get told any back story or intro what so ever before the room, my brother and mom did not know what was really going on and only figured it our from the video in the room which didn't have sound. It could have been the time and the GM being tired though, we did one of the last shows (10PM).

I would not recommend this place. Far from it, I would recommend you turn away from this place.

My fiancé and I set up the appointment for the shelter room months ago, by credit card to book this room. The room was completely paid for and the only thing we needed to do was show up. The six of us show up when they open at noon, and to begin with the ac was not running. We were here a year before and they didn't have it running then but explained that they would have it fixed. The man behind the counter is on a long phone call arguing with someone for at least a few minutes before he even acknowledges us. When he does the first thing he says is do you have the card you booked the room for? I said no what do you mean? The rooms paid for and I have a confirmation. He presses me about this card and I explain to him it's impossible to provide this as it's not with me. So I'm frustrated, hot and stressed because I have six people with me out of town and it's all dependent on this card I don't have. I didn't read the fine print on the confirmation, in fact I didn't read it al all because I've booked about 15 escape the rooms previously and was never asked to provide proof of payment. This is ridiculous to me, as this was a gift from my fiancé and neither she or I would expect this. Then the man says well can you give me the last four, I say I don't know but then I find a picture of the card and provide that. The man then grills me on who the cardholder is, I say it's none of your business and then he says Ok you can go in and we start to wait.

Out of frustration I say to him, you know this is a terrible way to do business, if your concerned about fraud then you shouldn't do business online. If there ever were fraud it would've been caught by now. Then after arguing with him I say I wish you guys would go out of business since your not really providing a pleasant experience to anyone. That's when his manager rushes out and says to me I need the physical card otherwise no entry. I said do you not speak to each other? Completely contradicting what her employee was directing us to do. She said that we need to leave and she will call the cops because I wished her business to fail and about now I don't think I'm ever going to change my mind on this.

This was a terrible experience. This business should be more clear on their policy since it is unique to them. Does this become an issue for others when like myself your trying to fulfill a gift? When was the last time you had to provide a card after buying a movie ticket online or concert ticket? I get trying to prevent fraud but there are many ways to do this without treating your customer like a criminal. The fact that the manager was not willing to hear my criticism constructively and that the ac was still broken tells me they are not willing to improve and does not deserved the public's business. It's clear to me the people who work here have the sense they are doing their customers a huge favor by serving them. Please stay away as there are better escape rooms. My favorite is escapegamesnyc. The puzzles are fun, the staff is friendly, and they...

Very creative and entertaining rooms! Great AND terrible customer service!

My wife and I have recently started going to escape rooms as a fun date night/day. We completed both Shelter R & Medieval Dungeon at this location on the same day.

For Shelter R, our game master was Justin. Justin was very courteous, entertaining and professional. He really went out of his way to welcome and assist us throughout our experience. The room itself is very innovative and creative! We had a blast. Afterwards, Justin took our pictures and explained everything about the room that we didn't quite comprehend on our first go. We took a break and came back for round two...

For Medieval Dungeon, our game master was Josh. Josh was one of the worst employees I have ever encountered at a business. His lack of disinterest in the whole experience was shocking. He was not watching my wife and I in the room. When we asked for clues, he wouldn't respond for over a minute, (in escape room time, this is an eternity.) When he did provide a clue it was for something we already completed. Again, clearly not watching us at all. It was as if we were bothering him. He then got audibly angry and started to tell us exactly what to do to get out. It wasn't even a hint, he was ruining it for us on purpose. My wife had to "shush" him. He was rude and indifferent. We completed the room before time ran out and were very excited. We were met outside the room by a frowning Josh and shown the door- no congratulations, no smiles, no "come see us again", nothing. We said goodbye to him as we left and he then said a mumbled "thank you."

The room itself was quite remarkable. It was very creative and well thought out. It is a shame that Josh put such a sour spin on the experience. We will not be back to this location simply because of his customer service.

To Brooklyn Escape Room: After our experience, we read others' reviews and, sure enough, Josh has been mentioned many times as a cancer to this location. For your sake, please address this issue with a terrible employee.

To potential customers: Enjoy these well-themed rooms, but make sure Josh is not your...

Disgusting, abusive, and horrendous experience: Went to this escape room on 11/10/2018 at 7:45pm (just in case anyone tries to tell me I wasn't actually there) with 5 other friends and two strangers. 3 of us arrived around 7:35 and at 7:40 and Chris told us we had to start. We said we were waiting for our friends and he told us that "directions would take 8 minutes and we should have arrived earlier" in a very rude tone. He led the 3 of us to the room, blindfolded us, and then separated me from my two friends. There was no warning about the blindfolds (I have done ~10 escape rooms prior and it normally warns you) so I just said "this makes me a little nervous" to which he replied "It's not that big of a deal, it's five seconds, or I can take you all out of the room right now." I was so shocked and disgusted (has he ever met anyone with trauma/anxiety before?) and fell silent. The game started (still before 7:45) and at 7:43 he brought the rest of the group in. One person tried to move forward and he screamed over the loud speaker "Did I tell you to move forward? No". I understand that there are directions to these rooms but the tone and condescending manner was horrible. Throughout the game he continued to tell us in a very rude way that we were doing things wrong, insulted us etc. Part of the issue was that the room had 3-4 clues in it, and it was a linear structure so 8 people was WAY too many for the room. Half of us were bored, and it was dark with one flashlight, so we bumped into things we were told not to touch. At the end we tried to tell him how bad of an experience it was, and we also mentioned this to the owner, who took absolutely no responsibility and never apologized. Looking at how they respond to reviews (telling people they were the problem, accusing them of not having visited their location) shows even more evidence that they have no ability to hold themselves accountable for their actions. This place should go out of business. There are SO MANY other amazing escape room businesses in...
