North Charleston Lodge — Hotel in North Charleston

This was the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in!! I booked through Priceline and it was $77 I stayed at a Priceline booked motel about a month ago that was only $50 and it was waaaaayyy better!!! Started off with being assigned an occupied room, unlocked the door and the tv and lights were on, bed was unmade, clothes and food on the counter, smelled like someone had just gotten out of the shower, wet towels on the bed. Thank god no one was actually in the room!!!! Closed the door went back down to the lobby and let them know! All they said was okay, then gave us another room. Went to that room and the lights and tv were on but the bed was made and no one had belongings in the room so we went in. Bed only had one pillow, one sheet and a fitted sheet. No hand towels, washcloths, towels, toilet paper or soap. Well there was one small towel folded and placed at the shower floor so I opened it and there was a wet dirty footprint on it so I went back down to the lobby and gave her the dirty towel and asked for a pillow, towels, washcloths, soap and toilet paper. We got one pillow and a few towels but none were actual personal sized towels. It was just a hand towel, two washcloths, and a small towel to step on when you get out the shower. I was tired and didn’t want to go back down so I just said screw it we will dry with the small towels. I went to get a shower and the shower floor was filthy, hair, soap packets, and just dirty. I went down to get some cleaner out of my car and a scrubber and cleaned the shower so I could take one! After my shower I looked around the room and noticed bugs, dirt, blood or feces (not sure which one 🤮 on the bathroom door and wall and a hole in the bathroom door. Three lamps but only one had a lightbulb. It was a non refundable booking through Priceline so I didn’t have a choice but to stay. Needless to say had it been refundable I’d have left! Also checkout is at 11 so I’m getting dressed around 10 and housekeeping knocks and I said I thought checkout was at 11…no reply so I go to open the door and thy are already opening the door with their key!!! I was appalled!!! Worst stay ever! Wish i would have just slept in my car! They even had a sign out front saying now open like maybe it had been remodeled or something but definitely not...

DO NOT stay at this hotel. This is the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life. I have never left a hotel early before, but I couldn’t spend another night at this terrible place. It’s probably one of the cheapest hotels in the area and for a good reason. It’s not worth the savings. Stay at any other hotel.

When I arrived, they told me that they were overbooked and didn’t have any more rooms. I asked them to look me up my reservation and saw that I had a one. They told me that they had one room left and they wouldn’t be able to move me to a different room if the room had any problems.

When I first walked into the room, there was a cockroach crawling on one of the beds. There were also dead bugs under the mattress. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. The smell was so strong that it was absorbed into my clothes. The person staying in the room next to me was blasting music at 3:00 am. The door didn’t have the safety latch to help secure the door and the corner of the door was damaged. Most of the furniture was damaged too. The phone didn’t even have a telephone line. There was mold on the walls. The floor and walls were dirty. The shower floor was damaged and disgusting. The bed only had sheets on them. I could barely sleep and woke up feeling exhausted. I only stayed the night because I got in so late and had nowhere else to go. I even considered sleeping in my car because the room was so disgusting.

In the morning, I packed up and went straight to the front desk to cancel my reservation. I asked for a full refund and told them I couldn’t stay another night. I told them that the room was disgusting and smelled terrible. They said that I’d have to call the third party site I used (USAA Perks) to get a refund, but they’d put a note on my reservation about giving me a full refund. The person at the front desk didn’t ask me any questions about my stay and didn’t seem to care at all about me leaving.

I called USAA Perks to get my refund. They followed up with me and said they couldn’t give me a refund because the hotel refused to provide the refund. The management lied to me about getting a full refund and the property is poorly maintained. Save your money and stay...

HORRIBLE! i stayed once because it was cheaper than the other location so I said screw it the room I was in was a joined to another room with a bunch of kids screaming til midnight the mother yelling at a 3 year old to get in the shower constantly saying shut up I was embarrassed for her trying to put my own child to sleep I saw a roach on the wall killed it. Stayed once more the next night bc I was sick and traveling so not even from the area and the room they put me in remote didn’t work none of the remotes work to the tvs in the rooms… roaches coming up from the side of the walls out from the floor boards small large babies the whole damn family was chilling in there once we got our food inside I killed about 5 of them until I said hell no went to the front and complained then the front desk women began to cuss me out bc she said I just wanted a refund when it was 12 am I have my 3 year old all I wanted was some peace and quiet and some sleep .. they switched me to a diff room still had roaches probkilled about 3-4 crawling up my wall didn’t fall asleep til 3 am THIS ISNT A HOUSEKEEPING PROBLEM ITS INFESTED W ROACHES THE BUILDING ITSELF NEEDS COMPLETELY BOMBED and I doubt they’ve done that they still have roaches as of DECEMBER 2022 I seen a previous reply to someone that they don’t they in fact so and also rent to drug dealers let them have rooms for free I know for a fact I was told by one of the local dealers the younger lady in the front gives him rooms for free just leaves doors open not safe this place needs shut down surprised it hasn’t...
