IHOP — Restaurant in North Charleston

Hello there, fellow food enthusiasts! Today, I want to share my recent experience at IHOP, where I encountered a few hiccups that hindered my overall dining experience. While IHOP usually manages to serve up delightful breakfast delights, this particular visit left me a tad disappointed.

First and foremost, let's address the elephant in the room – the service. Unfortunately, our visit was marred by a noticeable delay in receiving our food. Despite our hunger pangs and anticipation, we waited for over 40 minutes before our dishes made their way to our table. This prolonged wait time certainly dampened the mood and left us feeling quite famished.

The servers at IHOP were undoubtedly friendly, doing their best to maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Their pleasant demeanor and willingness to assist. It's just a shame that the efficiency of the kitchen couldn't match the staff's friendliness.

Now, onto the main event – the food. Once it finally arrived, our dishes were presented well, and the aroma was enticing. The flavor profiles were generally satisfying, with the traditional IHOP pancake selection offering a familiar and comforting taste. However, the extended wait had an unintended consequence – our food arrived lukewarm. This compromised the overall experience and left us yearning for that fresh-off-the-griddle

The worst customer service ever!!!! We ordered take out and when we got there at the time indicated , they told us that the kitchen didn’t received the order. After 10 minutes of looking and lady trying to understand what’s wrong , she found the receipt order on the floor. So we were asked to wait for 10 min more. After 30 minutes of waiting, we asked how much more should we wait, they said 20-25 minutes more. Can you imagine how mad we were and also hungry???? But ok, we’re there already, so we’ll wait. When the guy from the kitchen went out with our order, I checked if everything’s fine. Now they gave us just one order of chocolate mousse pancakes instead of 2. What do you think? Now they’re apologizing and asking to wait again for the chef to make another order. When those pancakes went out , they looked terrible. The mousse that was supposed to be on the top looked like a cat pooped on the pancakes. Also no chocolate chips, no cocoa powder and no whipping cream. I asked the guy if they looked the same as the picture and he just asked me if I need another bag and just left.... that was the worst start of the day. I would never , but never order or go in there . I’ll make sure I’ll let know everybody around me about...

Really disappointed in this location. When you think of ihop you think of a professional,effective, and friendly staff. Unfortunately this one did not have that staff when we went. Our server which was the manager on duty was not rude to us, she did get our order taken and refill our drinks promptly; however she stood right behind our table and was chatting very loudly with another employee about scheduling issues. Another time a second server for a different table was talking extremely loud from the kitchen we heard multiple profanities which is completely unacceptable for a family restaurant environment where there were children trying to enjoy their food. We got our ticket and waited far longer than we should have. Waiter #2 with the bad language came over and went to grab the card and ticket but then complained the phone was ringing and proceeded to answer the phone. Instead of immediately coming back and taking our card she went and chatted with another coworker while sitting down in a booth. We could hear more bad language (not surprising at this point) and became very frustrated. The staff did tell us to have a good night when we left, however I really wish the service was better as we are here for a week and would have loved to eat here...
