We have visited de lazy lizard in the past and had a great time. Not anymore. Us adults had drinks at the bar while we waited for our table and the service at the bar was great. When our table was ready things changed. The digital menus would not load on anyone's phone (iphone or android) so the waitress said she would be back with actual menus and that there are often issues with the digital/QR menu not working. She returned with 2 menus, for a group of 8 people. After looking over the menus we noticed that there weren't any prices listed. This is typical for seafood and fish (since you pay market rate), but you never see this for regular items like appetizers, wraps or burgers anywhere, and we dine out often. When we asked about this, she said the prices are listed online. The online menu does not work, remember? One item we ordered was the Salmon Avocado Wrap and requested that they put a small amount of avocado on it, the waitress said they could put it on the side instead of in the wrap. Great! Finally we got our bill. One bill. Up front we asked for 2 bills, she told us that unfortunately they cannot do 2 bills but could do 2 payments. Then why did you say ok when we asked for 2 bills? As we were looking over the bill we noticed that they charged $5 for the avocado (that was PART of the wrap contents)! 8 wings were $17.99 and a cup (not bowl) of soup was $9! When we asked about the $5 avocado, she said that is how the system tallies it up, but the bill is correct. We reminded her it was INCLUDED in the wrap and SHE recommended it be on the side. She insisted the bill was correct, but would send a manager. 5 minutes later she shows up with a $244 bill. She takes my card and comes back with a receipt for $321! We questioned this and she said she did not know what happened and she would send a manager. We have been waiting on and off for 20 minutes for various screw ups at this point and now have to wait even longer. The manager finally comes and tells us the computer had to ring up the avocado for $5 since it was a side item (IT WAS PART OF THE WRAP, NOT A SIDE ITEM) and then she notices we actually got 2 bills. One for table 901 and one for table 801! There was never an attempt to compensate us for anything, never an apology, nothing. All attitudes from the waitress and the "manager". Needless to say, we will not be back. Go to Seacrets or Brass Balls, or any of the other wonderful restaurants in OC, you will have a great time, better food and service and pay 1/2 of what you would at this LAZY establishment. (I would give negative...
Read moreFirst of all, i’m going to start by saying I am a local. I have been coming here since it opened originally. Every year it seems it gets worse and worse. Today was so horrible, I felt I had to write a review in hopes someone actually sees this and takes note. The playground was atrocious. I get that it’s basically “play at your own risk” but with so many managers and employees walking around someone should stleast be keeping an eye to make sure it isn’t out of hand. There were kids way too old to even be playing on a play ground throwing footballs across the playground, playing tag, and running climbing on outside of equipment. Little kids were terrified to go on the play ground and constantly saw them getting knocked over and pushed around.
Then, of course even though we didn’t ask, we get seated at one of the table literally in the play area. The hostess takes us there and before we even approach the table I had to laugh and say I hope it’s not that one because it was so FILTHY. I told the hostess it was disgusting and didn’t even looke cleaned and she LAUGHED. I told her i wasn’t laughing and was appalled. Someone else from our party has to go and ask for the table to be cleaned. There were food stains all over the table and cushions covered in sand. The employee came over to “clean” it with a roll of paper towels. No cleaner, no disinfectant…and to top it off, handed us, the customers, the paper towels to clean it!!! The final straw was the woman’s bathroom. My 2 year old literally said “disgusting” when we walked in. There is NO WAY any employee monitors the cleanliness of that restroom. there were toilets FILLED with toilet paper, trash all kinds of things. Toilet paper and water literally all over the floor, in practically every stall. The counters were soaking wet. It was so dark in there, probably to hide how nasty it was. I literally couldn’t even find a clean stall to use. The poor hostess apologized and thanked me for notifying them but I truly can’t believe that place passes with the health department.
The food is decent, but it’s overpriced. $26 for nachos is unbelievable. I hope their kitchen isn’t as nasty as the rest of the...
Read moreCame during my bachelorette party last weekend and I can't stop raving about it! My girlfriends and I were ready to celebrate, and it all kicked off when we met our awesome bartender, Sidney, who took great care of us. But the real party started when Christina walked in!
Christina brought an incredible vibe. We told her we wanted to get the party started, and she recommended the Cyclone shots, which were a hit! We also tried some frozen drinks, and fishbowls and I absolutely loved the Kiwi Banana. It was SO good!
Christina was super fun and even introduced some of the ladies to Rumpelminze. Let’s just say, some of my friends couldn’t hang after that, but we all had a blast! The laughter and good times made it all worth it.
What really made my bachelorette weekend special was how attentive Christina was and how she made me feel extra special as the bride. Her energy was contagious, and she really made our night unforgettable.
If you’re looking for a fun spot in OC, definitely check this place out. Amazing drinks. Awesome service. Will definitely be back this summer. Huge shoutout to Christina and the team for making my bachelorette party a night to remember!
Update: Came back to de lazy lizard last night just me and a couple friends wanting to take advantage of that late night happy hour. It was a wonderful experience and Christina took amazing care of us like always. The only downside was the other bartender that was with her started ringing this bell at 10:45 and yelling “LAST CALL. PAY YOUR TABS. GET OUT. LAST CALL.” Left a bad taste in my mouth. Why do a happy hour until 11 if you want people to scram at 10:45? No hate to Christina, she’s a gem. That other guy doesn’t need to be behind the bar frankly. My friends and I, plus some other people at the bar swiftly left. If that’s how you choose to treat customers, I don’t see your happy hour having a lot of success...
