My girlfriend and I went here on 10/12/24. For reference. This place may have been good a few years back, but don't go now! So let's start this review. We walked up to the host desk off the boardwalk, place wasn't that busy, and the host was on and off of her host stand, never said a word to us for about 20 minutes. Maybe super busy, but at least greet your customers and let them know you'll be right with them. We were then brought to a table by this lady that 100% hated her job, gave us attitude and just threw menus on the table and walked away. Very confused, we just sat there waiting to be asked what we wanted to drink, and man should we have just got up and left! Almost an HOUR later, we were asked what we wanted to drink. We had ordered a strawberry lemonade and a 16$ mixed drink. after about another half an hour, we got our drinks. mind you we have now been here for a little under 2 hours now. lemonade was a 3/10, and my almost 20$ mixed drink maybe had a pinch of tequila in it. after drinking about half of it (trying to choke it down) i looked under my cup and couldn't help but find a FLY in the bottom of my drink. (was told by waitress that since they keep the doors open it happens sometimes, she didn't even care) terrible at best. we put our food orders in, both ordered quesadillas, which i can make myself at home in about 15 minutes. lost track of time but it got to the point where we asked a waitress, (not even ours because she disappeared for the rest of the night) if we could just get our food to go because we had been there for so damn long. so here we are putting our fresh (not so great looking) food in BOXES to eat at home. mind you each quesadilla was about 22$. now here we are hoping that it doesn't take long to get this check so we can LEAVE and eat at the hotel. Yeah you guessed it, waiting and waiting before I finally flagged down yet another random waitress and asked if we were getting our bill today? or tomorrow? in which she rolled her eyes, walked away, and came and dropped the check off with zero words. WORST experience EVER at ANY restaurant in the world, and i've been to ALOT. I can appreciate taking your time for food and drinks to be top quality, but being in a restaurant for 3 hours plus for just a couple to get a drink each and food, that's not even enjoyable in the slightest. Don't come here, avoid it at all costs, and don't plan to be able to stand up after eating if you do as your ass will probably be glued to their sticky ass bench seats. (UPDATE we both vomitted within hours of each choking down half of our quesadillas. They probably add flys to those too since you know "we leave the doors open it's going to happen".) GUIDOS BURRITOS, WORST PLACE TO EAT IN ALL...
Read moreWent in to celebrate my bachelorette party. At every bar we had been to that night, we asked the bartenders to give us their favorite shots. All other bartenders gave us something fruity and fun, but this bartender decided to play a joke on us and give us CAROLINA REAPER SHOTS without us knowing. It just smelled like tequila so we had no way of knowing the level of suffering that awaited us. The second it was in my mouth the spice level almost killed me and I spit it back into the cup, but my maid of honor wasn't so lucky. Like a champ, she swallowed the whole thing before tasting it, and immediately got horribly sick. The bartender was laughing and encouraging the rest of the us to take the shots while she went dead silent and tried to keep it down. She actually threw up at the bar and the bartender didn't seem to regret it at all, thinking it was funny and encouraging the rest of us to drink it. Once she threw up he left us to clean up the mess and avoided us the rest of the time. Didn't bother to check on her or offer to help clean up. I completely acknowledge that WE asked HIM to give us his favorite shot. However, who in their right mind would be expecting a Carolina reaper pepper shot? It was honestly cruel and ruined our night. We didn't even find out that it was a Carolina reaper shot until we went back and got the shots refunded considering it made my friend incredibly sick. In the future, if someone asks you to give them ur favorite shot, maybe as a bartender you should read your audience. In no way does a fun bachelorette party equal to we want to suffer. For the rest of that evening, my mouth hurt from the spice level and my friend continued to throw up for the rest of the night because of the shot. We were not drunk, and we didn't see or smell anything in the drink that would indicate the hottest pepper in the world was in it. It was a cruel joke that probably made the bartenders night but ruined ours. The ONLY saving grace was the barback who called the manager and repeatedly checked up on her and helped with clean up. He was a sweetheart and the only reason this got a one star review...
Read moreAfter checking multiple Mexican restaurants online, my wife and I decided to eat at Guido’s burritos (boardwalk location). It wasn’t busy and we were lucky to get a table with a nice view next to the boardwalk. The menu was very small. Not too many items to choose from. It was too pricey for the quality of food. To start, the chips and salsa are not free. $5.99 for a decent size bowl with salsa and a large amount of chips. The salsa tasted fresh and it was not too spicy. It was perfect. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla and I ordered the steak burrito. I think the quesadilla was overpriced. It was $12.99 not including the protein. So, to add chicken was an additional $6. My wife didn’t like it, it was too greasy. The steak burrito was ok, but I believe was overpriced as well. I believe is was $26. The burrito was not hot, but it was ok. I ordered it with rice and beans. The rice looked and tasted like microwaved Mexican rice. The beans had too much seasoning and I didn’t like the taste of them. The burrito itself was good. It had a lot of steak in it, and the guacamole in it was good. I guess the prices being a little higher is expected because of the area, but if you want great Mexican food, this is not the place for you. Another thing I didn’t like was the additional charge for paying with a credit card. It’s only about $3 dollars, but that’s not the point. The waiter didn’t let us know until we asked about it when we saw it automatically added to the bill. We paid cash, so he kindly removed the charge. The restaurant wasn’t busy, but the atmosphere and decoration is nice. The water was very nice and kept checking on our table as well as other tables. I didn’t order any alcoholic beverages, but I noticed the boardwalk location has a very nice bar. Give this place a try and write a review. It’s very helpful for others. I don’t think I’ll...
