Read moreWe arrived on time for check in and there was no one there. The front desk was abandoned and bare without any presence of staff or management. There was a canned statement advising us to take our keys off the counter and check in ourselves. The manager appears moments later and tells us that we're all set for our week long stay. After we had booked our stay we received a legal driven notice about the limits of occupancy and how the room would be serviced. There is no service; like our bare check in the rooms are not cleaned -ever. You fill out a daily request sheet and drop it off at the front desk; subsequently they drop off your towels in your room and don't even take our soiled towels. Since we were staying for a week and in the sun and sand all day we asked to have our sheets changed mid week. The manager arrived after asking twice and delivered the sheets (minus pillow cases) only. She then directed us to change our own sheets. There is no service, these owners obviously are not in the hospitality business and their efforts were minimal and unacceptable. Their legal release post making the reservations had so many caveats that you would have to hire your own attorney to figure everything out.
Below are some pictures of their old and abandoned ( and dirty)larger ice machine which was replaced with a smaller one which was often empty. The bathroom was another major problem: the bathtub had an old mat that was obviously removed and the glue remained. The toilet seat was ill fitted and the door didn't close completely(often embarrassing). Even worse everyday motel guests had to remove their own trash and put it in a large overfilled trash can at the entrance to the front office. On more than one occasion parking was limited if you came back after 9pm. There's something else goin on here.
Obviously the property has been sold to some corporation that operates on restricting labor costs and is more concerned with their bottom line than your vacation experience.
There are many other competing hotels and motels in the area. Be smart and stay at one of them-not this one. It probably should be cited by the state Department of Health. Forget about the bed covers; we immediately pulled them off and used our own blankets.
There was no hospitality-none zilch nada at all, we were told that we should have read their disclosures before booking. It felt more like a hostel instead of a motel....
