WOW! SO GLAD WE STOPPED IN HERE! If you like craft beer, unique pizzas, and friendly people, then you must stop by and try this brew pub. The outside of the restaurant is rather unassuming. But, once you walk in, you notice the beams, touches of modern wood work, and the friendly bar keeps and immediately feel welcomed. We initially went in to try a flight of beer and kill some time. We ordered the English Style Bitter Ale, Trestle IPA, Watermelon Sour, and Blueberry Delight Milkshake IPA. We both really enjoyed the Trestle and the Blueberry IPA tremendously. The sour was good but keep in mind sour beers are an acquired taste. For a sour, it was tastefully crafted. The English Bitter IPA didn't knock our socks off or anything but it wasn't undrinkable either. As we reviewed the eclectic pizzas on their menu, we figured that we only live once so why not try something unusual. We were pleased that you can order a whole pizza and do half one way and half another. We tried the "Smoked Pulled Pork, Gouda, Mac & Cheese, Jalapeno Cornbread" on one side and the "Maine Blueberries, Ricotta, Roasted Shallot, Lemon Zest" on the other half. Both pizza halves far exceeded what we expected! The pulled pork...pizza was packed with numerous complementary flavors and textures. The Blueberry pizza was rich and creamy with a smooth savory base from the shallots highlighted with subtle but bright pops of lemon zest to reduce the heaviness. The crust was airy and crispy on the edges without being too chewy. Being brave and trying these pizzas was fantastically rewarding! It may sound cliche, but we liked the blueberry pizza paired with the Blueberry Delight IPA. The pulled pork Gouda pizza paired decently with the Trestle IPA as well.

Great little place and the only thing that prevents this from being a five-star review is a lack of Stouts as part of their brews. Evidently IPA's are very popular in this part of the country so they have more of that style of Brew than anything else. They sell flights in sets of four so we just had a single flight to get an overall feel for the types of Brew available. I hate to admit it as I'm not normally an IPA fan, but hands down my favorite Brew was a Latchkey NEIPA that they have on draft. They do have a full kitchen here and specialize in pizzas but we had a sub and brussel sprouts both of which are very good. They have a decent-sized bar and great indoor seating but no outdoor seating that we observed. Anyway great little brewery in this part of Maine.

Stopped in for a quick bite and a beer! Beer was fair, with just a hint of microbrewery aftertaste (MBAT). I had an IPA, so that backend bitterness is partially stylistic. My wife has a red ale, which the MBAT was more subtle. Pizza is ok, but I prefer an airier crust vs this was on the dense side. Sausage has a little more kielbasa flare to the taste, and it was cooked a little more than what I like. My wife couldn’t eat it and had to remove it, I’m mostly carnivore and was glad to eat the extra😊! The pizza itself was not over cooked, it was just right, sauce is on the sweeter side. Service was a little slow, but maybe they were taken by a busier lunch crowd then typical. The server was very nice, just couldn’t keep the pace.

I don’t typically do negative reviews, but in reading the responses to other negative reviews it seems the owner thinks that the servers are handling issues when they’re actually not.

Pluses: beer is very good. Pretzel app is yummy.

We found our server to be very friendly when we were placing our order but became rather hostile when we had one little issue that was her fault.

We were initially brought the wrong appetizer and she admitted it was her mistake. We waited several minutes and then the correct appetizer arrived along with the salad and pizza. We had specifically said we wanted the appetizer first and then the meal after.

So I said “oh bummer” and she laughed and said “oh it’s OK.” Hmmmm really?

We had ordered the BLT salad and asked for no pork belly or cheese, but a crabcake instead. She said that would work fine. The salad had wilted Romaine, old tomatoes, crumbled bacon bits and a nasty burned crabcake and no discernible dressing. We ate less than half of the salad.

We ordered mushroom and Gorgonzola pizza which had an overwhelming amount of garlic on it, but otherwise was tasty if expensive.

The waitress did not come back and ask how everything was until we were almost finished. And that point she asked if we wanted boxes because we had clearly only eaten half the salad and 2/3 of the pizza. We said no thank you. She did not ask if there were any issues.

When the bill came, we were charged eight dollars for the crabcake despite the fact that she said she could substitute the crabcake for the pork belly.

We asked her about it and she said “oh right, I just pressed the button and didn’t think about it.” So she took the check away and adjusted it and only charged three dollars for the crab cake which is the difference between the price of the pork belly in a crabcake.

The right thing to do would’ve been either don’t charge us at all for the crabcake or send a manager over because we clearly had a few issues and she showed her annoyance with us. But in a tourist town I guess they don’t really care because they’re not counting on repeat business.

Go for a beer and pretzel, but not for the overpriced...

Unfortunately, our experience here was not great. For a Sunday evening in a beach town, they were severely understaffed and underprepared for the evening. We were seated at 6.30 and quickly ordered 2 apps. 3 smash burgers and a pizza. We also ordered two painkillers (which were $13 each and came in a short glass consisting of mostly ice). Almost 30 minutes later, we still didn’t have our apps. A gentleman came to our table and told us, “Bad news, we are out of burgers.” I honestly thought it was a joke, but it wasn’t. I even asked repeatedly if he was serious, which clearly irritated him. As a former server, I have never seen a kitchen run out of items without warning the serving staff they are getting low. Considering the menu is very limited and the smash burgers are featured heavily, it’s surprising that they would run out of this menu staple. As we continued to wait for our food our waitress, Sam (who was very nice but clearly very stressed), asked if we would like 2 more painkillers, and we asked, “Are they on the house?” Poor Sam didn’t know what to say, but returned after about 15 minutes with 2 more painkillers. Although we weren’t charged, these free drinks definitely didn’t have the same alcohol content as our first drinks. Our 2 apps took almost 40 minutes and came out at different times and only arrived at our table after we asked where they were. Sam the waitress looked very surprised that we hadn’t gotten them yet. We finished one before the second one was even brought out. The burger replacement items came shortly after, but we had to ask about the pizza, which was then brought out but seemed to have been sitting for a while. It was a disappointing meal because we went specifically for the smash burgers and then had to find something else on a very limited menu. We were given a 20% discount and two free drinks for our trouble. Although the food was good, we probably won’t...
