Pros: |Clean - Middle of town, good location - Good parking – Comfortable and clean bed|Cons:|Very old and dated – furniture was very used – some appliances did not work – sink was stopped up – refrigerator froze everything – no bars on refrigerator door to hold anything in the door – air conditioner was very loud and always reset itself to 72 – Bathroom had no place to put your accessories – carpet was very stained – several poor looking patches in walls – paint on furniture – bathroom was in between two areas and created a very cold room and a warm room which were separated by door opening with no door – shower head needs cleaning – TV controller was missing rear battery plate, and did not work very well – Staff was indifferent and not welcoming or very friendly – breakfast area was small, crowded and chairs on the tile floor screeched so loud when moved it hurt your ears.|Trying to be fair and honest knowing everyone has their side, let me elaborate a bit.|Our room had its own parking space although it was a good block from the main office and breakfast area. The breakfast area was about 15 x 12 with a small bar that had all the food on it which consisted of cold hard boiled eggs, cereal, milk, bagels and condiments for them and a small tray of some sweet looking biscuits which we did not try. |Our Room: Upon arrival, our key card did not work so we had to walk back to the reception and get help. Housekeeping arrived quickly and explained you must lift and drop the handle to get the door to open. After a few attempts we got the door to work and for the next few days we still had some problems, but nothing we didn’t fix ourselves. |Our room at first sight was a bit shocking, since we booked on line and have never stayed here before. It was old and dated. I will say, after looking around, it was clean and bed was a good one. The unusual part was, our room was separated by the bathroom and a door way that went into another room, hence two Queen beds, and the A/C was in the back bedroom window with a view of the appliance dump area and a very nasty looking window. Understand, the view is not that important, so we get it, you have to build somewhere. Problem is the A/C was on that back wall and was pushing air to the front bedroom so the back bedroom was very cold and the front bedroom was warm only because eveytime I set the temp on the A/C to a lower temp in reset itself to 72. Also, needing to make a decision of which room to sleep in, we choose the front because the A/C was so loud. |The other issue that drove us crazy was the refrigerator. There was no setting we could set it to that it did not freeze everything. We lost two good salads we purchased. I finally decided to leave a small crack in the door for air to get in and that seemed to help a bit. |The bathroom was a good size and clean. There was nowhere to place your items, so it was back and forth to the main room to get what you needed to accomplish your bathroom requirements. The sink was backed up (very slow to empty) and maintenance repaired it for us. Friendly guys, too. The shower head was old and needed some attention as you can see from the photo. Water was hot and plentiful, so, happy about that.|The carpet was dated and stained, but clean as far as we could tell, and there was only one chair for both rooms and the on/off switch on one the lamps did not work.|Breakfast was subpar with many people all trying to get at the food at the same time. An unusual thing was the toasters. They were placed one behind the other and the back one at a higher level. The problem was they were on a wire stand and very unstable when you pressed the handle to drop the bagel for toasting, and caused you to have to use two hands, one to push the handle down, and the other to stabilize the “Hot” toaster. Coffee was ok, not like we are used to the way we make it. |Conclusion: This is the first time we have ever booked online using “Bookings.com” or any online service. We will probably never do it again. Although we were there for three nights, we found it adequate for bathing and sleep. The prices were very fair for what we got. Lesson learned, you get what you pay for, and we should have realized the “RED FLAG” when we saw the price for the stay. Would we return and rebook Knights Inn? No, we would not...
Read moreWe booked this motel six months before our trip. It wasn’t the most charming place in Page, but the price was appealing. A week before our stay, the motel sent an email asking us to cancel the reservation, claiming they had made a pricing error. They suggested rebooking at a price more than three times higher. Notably, the motel didn’t cancel the booking themselves, likely because it was made through Agoda, and canceling it would have resulted in penalties for them.
At the time, we were already traveling from Europe, and most accommodations in Page were fully booked. We assumed this was a genuine mistake and decided to rebook at the higher price. Now, after reading reviews, I realize this is a common tactic by the motel—offering low rates and then notifying guests of price changes shortly before arrival. Many reviews mention this practice. Now that we’re here in Page, I can see that almost every other lodging option is more appealing than Knights Inn. It seems the only way they can fill this place is by playing games with their pricing.
Still, we were willing to give the motel a chance, believing it was just a one-off mistake. However, during our two-day stay, it became clear that this disregard for guests is a deliberate policy of the management.
On this trip, we’ve stayed at budget accommodations, but none of them treated guests with such neglect. For instance, there’s a microwave in the room but no coffee maker or kettle. Are guests expected to heat up food and then go on a hunt for coffee? What’s even more ridiculous is that the microwave cord doesn’t reach any of the outlets near the table it’s placed on. It’s as if no one on the management team ever considered how it’s supposed to be used.
The room for two has a table and one chair, both positioned right in front of the bathroom door. There are no other seating options. I suppose the idea is that you heat up your food in the microwave, then eat it by the bathroom door while waiting for your turn to shower. And that’s how guests are expected to alternate between eating and using the bathroom, because there’s simply no room to do both at once.
The room also has a TV and an air conditioner. There’s no remote for the air conditioner, but there is one for the TV. The TV remote works for everything—changing channels, adjusting volume, etc.—except turning it off. I had to unplug the TV to turn it off. As for the air conditioner, it had to be turned on and off manually.
Needless to say, the ice machine at reception was out of order the entire two days (and likely longer), and when I asked for a second chair for the room, the answer was a flat no. Any one of these issues on its own is minor, something I’d typically overlook. But for all of them to come together in one hotel is something I’ve never experienced before—especially considering the dishonest pricing tactics. The motel’s management is both unprofessional...
Read moreI rarely EVER write reviews, but DO NOT STAY HERE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE BED BUG AND ANT INFESTATION!!!
Absolutely worst WORST motel I have ever stayed in!!! I know that Page, AZ is a huge tourist spot during the summer, so after getting a 20% discount I thought I was getting a good deal. Especially since Priceline and most sites had them listed as a 2 star hotel. Though paying $125 for a dingy motel in AZ on a NON weekend night was already almost more than I could stomach, but hey, I understand supply and demand.
When we get there it looks like an 80's motel (aka it hasn't been renovated/no new sheets/stuff since the 80's). Again, it's a motel, not a huge problem. It has horrible toiletry where the soap literally crumbled when we touched it, oh well, it's a motel, it sucks but what are you going to do.
There are little tiny ants crawling all over the place, which is scary, but most likely harmless? Until they start biting the feet of you and your dog, and your dog is LITERALLY limping around because these aren't just regular ants, they're fire ants and you have to go get your dog a cone of shame to prevent her from constantly licking the bite...preetttyy horrible in and of itself, but the silver lining is that at least ant bites go away, and then....
THIS PLACE HAS A BED BUG INFESTATION IN ADDITION TO THE ANT INFESTATION. Like, seriously?! Is this real life?? Bed bugs usually bites in clusters of 3, and guess what?? Since waking up, so far I have found NINE three cluster groups on my body so far. SO FAR. And I'm allergic, so they swell up like a mother. Most people don't even know that bed bugs are a real thing, but I had a brush with them through a friend in 2010 so I know just how real they are. Some fun fact include the fact that they can survive 10 months without food, and require 115F for 50 minutes to kill. Plus if it becomes a full blown infestation you need to get your whole house fumigated which takes months, requires 3 treatments, and the total cost of which is $8000!!!!! This is the equivalent of your car being blindsided by a truck or getting an extreme DUI because it didn't even occur to you that your food could be spiked with alcohol. Seriously.
Right now we are taking every precaution to spread these pesks from invading our home. But if we end up having to fumigate, we will be taking further action.
EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO PAY $1000 MORE GO TO ANOTHER HOTEL it is cheaper than 8 grand. It is SOO not worth getting bed bugs. After finding the bites I did a quick google, and voila! Someone else had already reported they had bed bugs but THEY HAVE STILL NOT FIXED THIS PROBLEM.
Please, please save yourself the heartache. And the intense all...
