I REALLY wanted to give this place 5 starts but there was one safety issue that really needed to be addressed even after asking twice.
The Pros: beautiful property, mostly quiet. Small (in a good way)- only 6 suites. It is run mostly like an Airbnb but there is staff there to check you in between 3-6pm.
The rooms were very stylish and updated.
The walls are pretty thin, but I think that is the nature of the age and style of the place. I probably wouldn't bring kids, as they could be pretty noisy for other guests. I could hear the neighbors opening their shades or laughing, but I just put on white noise on my phone and it was fine.
Overall we really loved the location and aesthetic of the property.
Cons: Communication was a little tough. It was very hard to get ahold of someone with questions. This property has very limited online presence and reviews so I was a little nervous going into it. I would have questions and would never get a reply via email. I ended up finding the property via Airbnb and was able to message through that platform. After that, I was in contact via text and replies were a little quicker.
Our flight was delayed so we checked in after hours. Directions were pretty straight forward.
Upon inspecting our suite, we realized one of the sliding doors were totally unlocked. When we looked closer we noticed the lock was completely broken off. No way to even latch the door so anyone could just walk right into the bedroom. I messaged staff, they said they would be able to have someone take a look the following day.
In the meantime, we wedged some furniture into the door so that it could not be easily opened overnight.
The next morning we received a text asking how the room was and if we had any issues or needed anything. I let them know everything was fine but we would like to be able to lock the sliding door. They said they would have someone come in a few hours to take a look. Again - nothing.
We had a 3 night stay and at that point only had 2 nights left and just kept the furniture in the door and didn't feel it was worth nagging any further. It really bothered me and sat in the back of my head the whole trip.
Would I stay again? Probably. But I'm really disappointed in how this safety issue was not addressed at all, especially considering we paid $630 a night...
Read moreWe were initially greeted by a kind man, but communication after that was poor at best. As other reviews state, there is no service outside of a person when you check-in—you have to message for needs. On day one, within a short time of checking in, we messaged to let them know the sink water was running out like milk—very white. They said they’d send a maintenance person to check it. No one ever came to fix it. The housekeeper came to see it and agreed that it was weird and gross looking. She said they would have maintenance come, but no one did. We had to use the shower to brush our teeth and such. It was such a pain. Also, the pool was so dirty that we never even swam in it. My husband and I tried to clean it as best as we could--but after two hours of trying, it still wasn't clean. I literally stood in for a few minutes but had to get out from how much debris, insects, and feathers were around me. I’m pregnant and had been looking forward to relieving some pressure in the water, so I’m very disappointed with how the overall service was. The room was nice enough, but we came for the whole package. On top of all this. When we shared this info with them, they completely ignored us. No response, no apology, nothing. We love traveling and take as many opportunities for quick interstate travel as possible, but this experience left us with a bad...
