Outstanding stay at Vista Grande, as always. My husband and I have been visiting for 20 years now. We stay for 5-9 days and visit annually (would love to go more frequently but it's a big trip for us and hard to leave the East coast more often). The staff is the main reason we return year after year. Tom, the manager has been consistently leading improvements for the past 10 years or so, and he as a GREAT team in place. I'd like to specifically mention Mike, Rodrigo, and Chris, just because we've interacted with them the most. Mike is always helpful and truly looks out for guests. Rodrigo is so much fun and makes everyone feel so important, even if you just bump into him around town he's like a dear friend. He helps out all over the place whether making breakfast, refreshing rooms, answering questions - you name it. And Chris keeps the kitchen churning out really, no... REALLY good food. Sure they put out all the continental breakfast staples (bagels, muffins, cereals, etc.), but also provide made to order breakfast scrambles and burritos with loads of toppings to choose from (bacon, cheeses, sausage, fresh veggies, etc.), French toast, Crepes? He also plans and prepares the food for their weekly and holiday parties. Not the instant eggs they serve up in chain hotels; good fresh stuff prepared to order. ||People have often asked why we go to Palm Springs and stay at Vista Grande year after year & why don't we try something else. The answer is simple. We do go other places from time to time for "adventures" or to visit friends, but our Palm Springs vacation is a special time to really relax and let go of cares, even if just for a week. Why in the world would we trust that special and limited opportunity to chance when we know the Vista Grande team will deliver consistently year after year? That would be dumb. Go, you'll probably love it. It's your vacation to design, so make it what you will. Want to spent some quiet time alone? Great; do it - the staff are not intrusive. Want to have fun and make new friends? Great; do it - don't be a wall flower. Introduce yourself to people and strike up a conversation (practice with a friend before you go if that feels awkward or challenging). The rooms are each unique (we've stayed in 8 different ones over the years) and all have their own special perks. You can always bring home your leftovers from a restaurant because they all have microwaves and refrigerators. Try some local restaurants, visit the local bars and other businesses, even if you just want to people watch. Go...
Read moreI thought upon arriving this place was a hidden secret , but after repeated nasty treatment by only a few of their staff, the daytime receptionist could have been kinder. and the maintenance after hours guy could have been a bit more efficient. so you need a key to enter a friend of mine handled the booking and added me to the room , maybe thats what sparked the shade. so I needed to grab my ID and give it to the front desk to verify which I easily understood. but was greeted with bad attitude ,and it needed to happen like yesterday ,so he's rushing me and I left it in the car which was quite a walk from the room . so I pass him on the way out ,to let him know ,ill be right back. go to realized it is actually in the room so I pass him again and he's still pressing like gotta have it. so I go to the room and then back to the front and it was a lot of walking , ultimately killing the chill nice vibe that was in the room before the insane interruption.
he got is scanned and that was the end of that. after confirming I was already confirmed that kinda kicked things off in the wrong way. so later on I went to my car forgetting my keys inside so I had to use the after hours number. to be greater with a undelightful voice, asking me which room and number so j told him and he says hold on meanwhile its cold and he is taking his times get to me he says he lives offsite so I understood but it was going on like 10 to 15 minutes being locked out and so I call back and he Hadden even left he saying* I need to make sure your even allowed in * so I'm like ok so after 20 mins my friend got my message and rushed up there to let me in , fortunately the same time they maintenance guy gets there.
so bitter sweet experience,
because the place is gorgeous multiple pools , classy rooms with fridge and microwave heated pools amazing jacuzzi I means something out of the movie land of the lost or jarrasic park tropical flare. so despite the setbacks its still worth your time trust me. you can easly look past some bad grapes to enjoy the vineyard. sorry forgot to...
Read moreThis was my fifth time to Palm Springs and first time staying with Vista Grande. My previous stays were at other gay men’s resorts.||This place is beautiful. You walk in from the street to a beautiful outdoor area with lush greenery with a noticeable drop in the temperature. The grounds, likewise, have beautiful plants throughout their grounds. It really felt like an oasis in the desert.||The staff! By far, the friendliest crew I have encountered in Palm Springs. They made me feel so welcome and I didn’t feel as if I was a burden to them. Rather, they were happy I stayed with them. Every one I interacted with was pleasant. ||A few shout outs: Rodrigo welcomed me to the hotel, showed me the lovely grounds, and was easy to talk to as he answered all of my questions about the hotel and Palm Springs. He never felt rushed when I stopped to speak with him and he seemed truly sad to see me go and ||Chris, the cook (chef?)…actually made breakfast. Legit oatmeal? Yes. Waffles from scratch? Yes! Freshly made egg bites (like seen at Starbucks). You bet! Omelets with a variety of add ons? Correct. Homemade muffins? Drool. And he was so kind…he genuinely got to know me and made me feel special. Oh! He makes a special lunch every Saturday. Both meals super duper yummy.||And Mark…a man of all trades. Very sweet guy who also made me feel welcome, taking time from his schedule to greet and chat everyday. I’m sorry for the other guys whose names I forgot or didn’t meet by name. All very wonderful people.||This stay was my best in the desert and have now found my place to stay when I’m in PS. It was perfect! Thank you Vista Grande for an...
