Review of Marriott Grand Château – Las Vegas
I’ve stayed at plenty of Marriott villas (Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Newport Coast), and as an owner, I know what to expect from the brand. This Las Vegas location, however, has a few unique quirks worth pointing out.
Parking/Valet The biggest issue here is parking. There is no self-parking option—only valet. While parking is complimentary for owners like myself, the valet setup is far from convenient. At other places (restaurants, gyms like my Equinox in Orange County), valet is a quick in-and-out. Here, it feels restrictive. If you forget something in your car, you can’t just grab it—you have to request your car, wait, and go through the whole process. There’s also no text-ahead system to streamline pickup, which means you could easily be late for plans. It feels like too much effort for something that should be simple, and I’d much rather have the option to park my own car.
Rooms & Space If you’re claustrophobic, take note: there are no balconies or patios, and the windows barely open—more like a latch you’d use on a home filter than an actual window crack. It gives a closed-in feeling, more like peering out of a sealed space than getting fresh air. Coming from Newport Beach/Corona Del Mar, where open space and fresh air are part of daily life, this felt stifling.
On-Site Convenience Now, to be fair, Marriott does convenience really well in other areas. Like other vacation clubs, there’s a Starbucks right on property (huge plus), and the marketplace allows you to order food and pick it up easily. It’s also a cashless property, so everything is billed directly to your room with your card on file. That’s a nice touch—no need to carry a wallet around the property. But here’s the issue: if you can make it that easy for us to spend money mindlessly on food, coffee, and extras, why can’t valet—one of the most essential services—be just as smooth and efficient? For guests who are working, on a tight schedule, or here for conventions (like I am… and literally as I’m here, I’m here for the next entire week, so I’m probably gonna be annoyed mindlessly), the current valet process is not practical. Other properties allow you to text ahead, walk downstairs, and your car is ready. That’s the standard this property should be aiming for.
Positives The amenities themselves are great. I loved that there are two pools, especially the rooftop pool and lounge bar (I’m a rooftop person through and through). The rooms are fully equipped, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were also amazing—Sara, who checked me in, was particularly wonderful. Her warmth and professionalism stood out, and I honestly wish she could’ve been our dedicated concierge. At other Marriott Villas, there’s often a text system for housekeeping and requests, which makes things seamless. If valet is the only option here, Marriott should really consider adding that level of communication for true convenience.
Final Take If I were rating based only on parking and air space, this would be a two-star stay. However, because the staff, amenities, and on-site conveniences like Starbucks, the marketplace, and rooftop pool are strong, I’d give it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. There’s real potential here, but the lack of self-parking and the closed-in feel of the rooms are major drawbacks. For leisure travelers who don’t mind valet, it may be fine. For business-minded guests like myself, who need efficiency and independence, these shortcomings...
Read moreRoom is nice... just left another timeshare, it was definitely larger in bedrooms, bathroom, and with patio. To be fair, the guest bedroom at Marriott has a mini kitchen, table with two chairs and couch.
Seems as in the past, water drains slower and toilet doors not flush without holding handle until waste completely flushes, (in master bathroom. We did not use guest bathroom.)
Service. I like the conceige who were friendly and helpful with shows. One rep said it was a 10 minute walk; wrong. 20 minutes each way. Luckliy we can walk in the evening that distance back to Marriott.
Valet parking is mandated. One non-valet employee in the past, said you do not need to tip, yet we do feel obligated. Few are good, who opens or closes the car door for you, says Hello, etc. That's calls for a tip. :)
Location is ideal, a good short walk across to a mall or down the street to the main street, Las Vegas Blvd. Closest are Aria, MGM, New York New York, and Paris Hotel-Casinos. Nearby are Walgreens, Ross and a Target (few fresh produce) for fogotten toiletries, etc. Also closeby Herseys, M&M, and Coca cola stores. All a descent 10 min walk. If driving, traffic is fairly busy day and night. Worst at night, not only the traffic, the constant flow of people construction, and removing event equipment near Marriott and parts of town, blocking streets (happening last five days and more).
Be aware constant flow of us tourists, and entertainers, and solictors on sidewalks and bridge walkways, representing casinos and shows. I try my best to say no thank you or ignore them. After awhile it is wearying but they are making a "living".
You will need a car for long distance casinos or to Chinatown or the new stadium, across the "Strip" but Uber is available. Keep in mind, prices jumps for events and time, and demand at that time. Yet that's everywhere, not only in Las Vegas. Plus there is a tram, which we used years ago.
Husband loves gym with high quality equipment, weight machines, treadmill, bikes, and towels.
Less than hour drive are wonderful hiking parks, conservation areas. Bring your federal park pass.
If you love action and good food (some sky high pricey) then Las Vegas is the city to visit. It's December 2024 and weather is nice during the day, about 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Nights...

Our recent stay in the luxurious 3-bedroom villa exceeded all expectations, offering not just spaciousness but also exquisite comfort. Each of the three suites boasted remarkable bathroom facilities, meticulously maintained to a sparkling standard.
What truly set this accommodation apart were the thoughtful details. The two fully equipped kitchens were stocked with everything one could possibly need, from silverware and dishes to laundry detergent for the washing machine—a convenience that made our stay feel like a home away from home.
The highlight, however, was undoubtedly the beds. I found myself sinking into what could only be described as one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in, while the pillows seemed custom-made for indulgent dreaming. After long nights exploring the wonders of Vegas, returning to the serene embrace of our dimly lit, cozy bedrooms was a joy in itself—a sanctuary for much-needed rest and rejuvenation.
But that's not all; the hotel boasts an incredible rooftop bar and pool, offering breathtaking views of the Las Vegas skyline. Sipping cocktails by the poolside while taking in the dazzling lights of the city was an experience unlike any other, adding an extra layer of magic to our stay.
The hotel's central location proved to be another asset, placing us right in the heart of the action. Whether it was the convenience of stepping out to explore the city's attractions or the ease of accessing amenities, every aspect of our stay was seamlessly facilitated by the attentive staff. From the accommodating valet service to the welcoming front desk team, their dedication to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction was evident at every turn.
